I had the fortune of getting into the albums of Savoy Brown at the 70’s, my favorite: A step further, wowww how heavy they were, Chris Youlden voice, just groove blues and boogie! Also a great strange song…Train to nowhere, woowww blew my mind, I don’t recognize this rythym really what it is, country blues? Well another trip with Hellbound train and a lot more. Then broke up and I found that everybody except Kim Simmons formed Foghat a heavy boogie, rock, blues band with a lot of power and hits…Lonesome Dave beacame really awesome, rhythm heavy guitar with Berry riffs…and a great slide player…gave a lot for years…Foghat with full stadium. I saw them at backstage at LA, they played inside the dressing room to warm up before the show, we could listen them outside the dressing room like if we were at a party garage band…I saw in the middle 70’s Savoy Brown with Kim Simmons, great English blues at sunset Blvd. The ladies loved his long blonde hair. Love this English musicians.❤🎉

I saw Savoy Brown 3 times, including the first time on this tour with this band, they were great and had the place going crazy with Hellbound Train a huge hilight. Then saw the the Boogie Brothers tour with Kim and 2 other lead guitarists, each with a 100+ foot guitar cord so they could walk down the main isle, blasting away, fantastic opener for Deep Purple. Lastly saw a new Savoy Brown band but same old Kim in 2001, they started with Poor Girl and never let up, great show. You can see that tour on You Tube. Sorry to hear he passed not too long ago, he was one of the underappreciated greats and should be in the RR HoF (or shame). RIP and Rock On! 🎵🎸🎤🎶

At that time Kim was playing with the great Miller Anderson who among being a super guitarist he pretty much produced & directed that album & what a fine pair he & Kim were when all those awesome fingers were flying .. We miss Kim & Dave & Paul & now Savoy Brown.

I wish this version of the band featuring Jackie Lynton on vocals had released at least one more album. But record sales were slipping and Simmonds broke the band up and formed Boogie Brothers (w/ Miller Anderson and Stan Webb). Only for the record label to release them as Savoy Brown (lasted one album and tour). RIP Paul Raymond and Kim Simmonds.

YES!!! I saw that same bill in Honolulu in March of ‘72. But not quite the original FMac. No Peter Green or Jeremy Spencer. Danny Kirwan, Mick Fleetwood and John and Christine McVie and Bob.Welch were the version that year. All 3 bands were excellent. Most of what was once a band called Chicken Shack was on that stage-2 or 3 members of Savoy Brown and Christine McVie were all in that group.
