Gaming on release today just amounts to paying the most the game will ever cost, for the worst it will ever be. Makes zero sense. In the past 5 years now I've only played like 10 games on release day and almost all of those have simply been because of gamepass. The only game I played on release that wasn't was Borderlands 3 and that pretty much bit me in the ass tbh :/ lol. The only worry nowadays since it's gotten worse and worse is that if you wait too long, these games will just literally be delisted or shut down and then you can't play them at all in some cases. Game preservation is at an all time low; and it's only getting worse. You can't count on a game still being around for a year nowadays which has made being patient even more tricky.
I'll never buy a game unless it's a goty or definitive edition. I've been burned by mortal Kombat x, mortal Kombat 11, arkham knight, Friday the 13th, Crash n sane trilogy, and so many other games. I bought these day one, only to see that they all had updated versions released later on, for cheap, with all dlc and updates. If a game never gets a definitive edition then I'll just never buy it. I can live with that.
It a game that blocks you out of playing the game unless you got a multi million dollars hard drive to update the game. Because it sent my PS4 into safe mode 😢😠😠😠😒🕹
