Heya folks! Temporal Tower is a classic Pokémon game theme and it's been sitting in my project list for a long, long time. Funnily enough, about a decade ago I uploaded a remix to my old channel when I was middle school cranking out tunes without any idea of what I was doing. I'd like to think I've improved a bit.
There's a lot of sound effects and atmospheric "presence" in this one. It was going to be even longer, but I have a bad habit of cramming everyone into one track so I split up this one. If you've played PMD, I'm sure you know what the next track I'm talking about is :).

I like the originality you chose. Everyone else makes it faithful, either completely or mostly. It's refreshing to hear a different remix.

The thing with the time gears convinced me long ago that there were a total of 12 time gears and it bothers me they never confirmed all of them.

There's only ever been five. That's why the stone at Temporal Pinnacle has five slots for them. Three of them found at lakes guarded by the lake spirits Mesprit, Uxie and Azelf. Limestone Cavern Treeshroud Forest Underground Lake Fogbound Lake Crystal Lake

@@Charziken I think it's more like Darkrai randomly chose to make the five slots. For proof, Grovyle once said necessary Time Gears meaning five wasn't all of them and also the partner mentioned a volcano.

@@warriorpokemon1518 The thing for me is that it's never truly confirmed that specific gear existed. The partner states they only heard that the one in a volcano existed. This sixth gear is never truly confirmed like the other five. While the cutscene does show a gear in a volcano's crater, I believe it was done for cinematic effect only. "Necessary time gears" could also technically mean all the time gears, in the instance that all of them were required, though that would be a strange way to word it. Either way personally, I believe there's only five to the world, but since it's never been truly confirmed, there's no way of really knowing.

@@Charziken That time gear is also shown in the title screen of Explorers of Darkness. It'd be weird if the title screen showed something that didn't exist, especially when the two other time gears shown in the title screens of Explorers of Time and Sky do in fact exist(although it's still weird that they chose that time gear for the title screen even though it never appears). If I had to speculate, it may have been that there were six time gears originally planned, but the sixth volcano time gear got scrapped during development for whatever reason(perhaps they felt that five was perfect for the story progression? Maybe they instead decided to save the volcano for the whole Darkrai arc rather than a sixth time gear?). I think it'd also have fit for the altar at the Temporal Tower to have six indentions vs five(that would have completed the hexagon shape).

Hey, guys, let's all try to not forget about the time gear that a ditto is protecting in one of the bonus levels of explorers of sky... Aka a sixth time gear we see in game... Just thought I'd remind y'all of it since most seem to forget about it. P.S. sorry if I at all came off rude...

This is a unique one! I like how you used those effects to build a real feeling suspense. Definitely something to consider if they remake these games.

Thanks for commenting! That's exactly what I was going for - I'd like to imagine there'd be some spooky time rewind/fast forward shenanigans if they ever got the opportunity to put that in a remake or something.

Glad you liked it! This theme holds a special place in my heart and I'm eager to hear we share that feeling! The ticking clocks were a nightmare to make happen when producing this but it turned out alright!

Very interesting mix! When the main theme is going, I love how consistent the clock is in the background, carrying through from the beginning, great job with this!!

I really like the glitchy effect on the gear, would love to know how it was done honestly. I also love the more cinematic feel of all this, having the music tell a story.

It's a stock fusion effect in DaVinci Resolve applied to a time gear png as a mask. I just vary the transparancy of that mask over the video so it only happens when the music glitches out.

Blessed be the algorithm lol. This video just exploded two weeks ago and it hasn't stopped since. I was bummed out cuz I thought that meant we were getting pmd explorers remakes or something 😂
