Yeah, probably doesn't matter - but there should have been shuffling each time a Creative Technique copy resolved.

@@90sMTG We were shortcutting the shuffle under the condition that there was no known information. I haven't gone back and checked each CT resolution and it's possible we missed some, but theoretically he did not need to physically shuffle *every* time under tournament rules as I understand them. Of course he would if on the previous CT he didn't immediately hit a spell because then he'd know the bottom of the deck, but it's a pretty benign failure since those cards wouldn't effect the probability distribution of the next CT and unless it was on the final opposing CT resolution the deck would theoretically be shuffled again before he naturally drew so the error wouldn't persist until a point in the gamestate where it became relevant. Assuming he didn't CT into any cantrips, the error gets "washed away" unless it's on his final resolution.

Every deck has weaknesses. It does seem like Death and Taxes has good tools to beat this.

Fast combo seems like it could be a problem for this deck. Not sure. -Chris

@@90sMTG I have played this deck a few times. I can beat storm cause I have 8 sideboard cards for it. I dont even bother with GY hate, no hope to be reanimator because of discard and faster combo.

Might not have realized the Spellbomb was valuable.

In all fairness the judge ruling on that change happened awhile ago but it wasn't really advertised or well pushed. I think it was on some judge forum/rule app.

Maybe there is some confusion because it works in a strange way on MTGO? Not sure.

@@90sMTG Works correct on mtgo in that both players see the card at the same time. Paper equivalent would be hand is face down, one card randomly selected is turned face up. Both players see the card at the same time. It is incorrect to ask a player to as a result of resolving Urza's Bauble to either not look at their hand during resolution or otherwise randomize their hand before or after resolution.

Cost is calculated and then you pay the cost. Doesn’t use the stack so you can sacrifice cards that counted for affinity.

@@90sMTG It does, but the way they did is was a little bit misleading. The opponent never saw the Thoughtcast until Lotus Petal was already in the graveyard. As we can see in the in reaction of the opponent, they should have announced Thoughtcast and then pay the cost. Therefore, DockVG is not wrong, but since Lotus Petal is a mana ability I think you can even undo that on MTGO, right?

@@MrSafarli also… I feel like it couldn’t be more obvious that he kept a hand with NO MANA SOURCE OF ANY KIND DIDNT MULLIGAN THEN PROCEEDED TO GO 20 Plus cards deep into the library without hitting a single land but you right you right… it prolly was just luck.
