howto the main stand was designed by the same man who did the mainstand at Ayresome Park, Middlebrough. The other thing they share is they were venues for the 1966 World Cup. Ayresome Park hosted the mighty Itslians who were humbled by North Korea, who went on to lose to Portugal 5-3 (Portugal scored all their goals in the second half), but this was well away from Ayrseome Park. I can't remember who played at Sunderland.

Why the fuck is every one suddenly referring to it as the Boleyn ground? I have been watching football since the seventies and have only ever heard it as Upton Park. Am I wrong?

Old football we all miss . Where has it been ? I still remember people in terraces listening to radios for the scores , the fans cheering,the rival fans booing . Thankfully football in Greece still is like this in the lower divisions.

@@littlebigbrain The Tigers current ground is the KCom Stadium built on the site of the old cricket ground next to West Park. Interestingly, the KCom is only about 100 metres away from Hull City's original ground when they played for a while before sharing The Boulevard with Hull FC until Boothferry Park was opened in 1946, both teams now share the KCom. Boothferry Park is now a housing estate.

@@pmw650 The Tigers vacated the Boulevard at the end of their inaugral season of friendlies 1904/05 for their new pemanent home Anlaby Road adjacent to the The Circle, home of the Hull Cricket Club for their first competitive season, 1905/06 in the Football League. A few matches were played on the The Circle whilst Anlaby Road was being got ready. They moved to Boothferry Park at the start of the 1945/46 season.

Not forgetting. not caring. I hope they carry on enjoying the London Stadium at the Olympic Park in Stratford. We should call them the Stratford Rovers as my guess is they will be moving again when they find out the ground is really no good for football. Most WHU fans I talk to do not like it there. Spurs wanted to knock it down and build a proper football stadium like they've almost completed at White Hart Lane. 62,062 Capacity with the ability to put another 10,000 in at a later date over the single tier south stand. The one that hold 17,500 in a single tier. To keep the fans close to the pitch they built the other three stands in four tiers stacked closely on top of each other. It is certainly something to behold as I've been up to see it and will again soon.

Upton Park was that best football stadium . There was an atmosphere there like no other spend man a happy Saturday afternoon there .Then they sold their souls for that shithole that is the London stadium . Went there once never again
