Feel like I forgot a pull? I am willing to suggest there is a high chance it might have been included in the previous video I did on the subject! Here is a link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yOGyF2cNUxA.html Enjoy!

Brayflox's Longstop (Hard) deserves an honourable mention, it isn't that dangerous to mass pull, but the shear number of enemies you can pull at once up to first boss is funny.

that pull can cause new healers to panic because of the mobs that will randomly blast other party members. That definitely happened to me lol

This was a killer back in ARR. The gear wasn't synced to 130 back then and new WHM had to Cleric Stance Holy which a lot didn't do. Some opted to just weak Holy them whilst others wouldn't even try. In DF I test the team with my first pull and from there see if I can pull more or have to slow down.

I think the halfpoint pull after the second boss of mount gulg deserves a mention. This pull goes from the gates after the first set of succubi sin eaters all the way to forgiven revelry. This one is hard due to the massive hp pools and damage output of the buffed sin eaters. The roomwides from the sphynxes, and of course revelry itself and its aoes
@HayTatsuko

I won't even try that one any more. I've seen others try it in DF groups, and I've tried it as the Tank in Trusts, and we almost always ended up getting faceplanted if the Tank tried to take everything in that last section. More sensible just to take the first two packs -- which can still be a tad scary! -- and deal with the third pack by itself, since it has two of those nasty Forgiven Prejudice sphinxes.

@HayTatsuko I do the two pack pull too. I have seen the three pack there and it's completely psychotic. Luckily they had me. A blm. Who knows damn well how to aoe

The very first 3 mob packs together also deserve an honorable mention as they hit like trucks and will absolutely shreds the tank hp if the group isn't prepared for it

I shall point out the unique and punishing mega-pull of the Ravel dungeon. The mobs between the 2nd boss and the final boss are normally split up as 2 packs a wall, 2 packs, then a set of Gorillas drop down to continue the battle once the local mobs are gone. But. If you grab the mobs after the wall and backtrack down the giant tree, you can force the Gorillas to drop down early and make it a nasty 3 pack battle that is now permanent (they will not go back into the trees if you wipe) you have bomb type enemies and plenty of AoEs going on that getting clipped can end a tank through their defensives if they didn't slap the invuln button in time.

Bardam’s Mettle first mega pull is probably the most difficult because players are often undergeared and for some reason the mobs just seem to hit harder than the mobs in most dungeons. If everyone is fully geared it’s a breeze though.

The hardest pulls that I can think of in terms of the sheer amount time I've been in a party that wipes to them are the first two in Bardam's Mettle and the full pull before Mt. Gulg's first boss and the pull after the second boss. It's crazy how often people just shoot out into that first pull in Bardam's with no regard to the probably sprout healer and then we wipe like 3 times. Gulg is late enough in the game though that it's fun to see if you can do them as a little extra challenge, but people usually ask before those pulls. Side note: I feel like it used to be a lot more common to do the Shisui and Doma Castle pulls. But having just got all my jobs to 70 finally, I saw a lot more people splitting those ones up.
@silverhairedelf09
@silverhairedelf09 8 месяцев назад
When I saw the title of the video I immediately thought: "I bet you that one Shisui pull is here." and there it was! Personally that pull is my favorite pull of all the Stormblood dungeons. It's actually hard enough to challenge both the healer and the tank during the pull. I remember fumbling with the pull the first time the tank in my group tried wall-to-walling it, wiped, then the tank asked me if he should slow down. I said "No. do the pull again. I got this." and pulled it off afterwards. The feeling of keeping the tank alive after an unsuspecting amount of damage (as an AST too!) makes me remember this dungeon fondly while I was learning. And whenever I get this dungeon on Levelling roulette as a healer I'll always say to the tank to wall-to-wall if he's confident enough.
@matus19971

It's definitely fun. My first time ever leveling a healer I told the tank in Cutter's Cry to pull all the way to the Chimera. It was his first time tanking 😂 he was hesitant but I managed to persuade him. He had a blast! 😂

@sampletext5681
@sampletext5681 8 месяцев назад
A few pulls that come to mind for me are the first and the final Mt. Gulg megapulls (final is especially brutal due to the sheer amount of AoEs + forgiven prejudice's interruptible roomwide of which there are 2), all of Bardam if you either have an undergeared tank or an unprepared healer and the first & second pull in Vanaspati, the mobs have a slight delay in the first one which can cause them to attack the healer first rather than the tank and there's Idolizers on the second pull which don't just hit hard but also refuse to stay stacked so the tank has to move around quite a bit should you have a caster. All these pulls are very fun but it can be rough and stressful when using duty roulette. o7
@HayTatsuko
@HayTatsuko 8 месяцев назад
That final Mt. Gulg megapull will have three Forgiven Prejudices going at once (1 from 2nd pack, 2 from 3rd pack), I think? It's asking a bit much for the Healer to cover the party there if the Tank is the only character with an interrupt.

Usually you see people die to not seeing something cause they have all the shiny effects on causing them to be blind to seeing any of the indicators, but yeah that second Mt. Gulg pull can be pretty hairy if not seeing the attacks on top of the number of AOE that have only cast bars going off. Easiest done with a Whm healer, but possible with other healers and good tank (Done it as a drk, war, and seen gnb and pld do this as well). Usually if I'm a DPS with one of these pulls I'm utilizing bloodbath to take stress off the healer who needs to focus on other things. Something you don't often see DPS do to assist in surviving these easier.

I'm so sad that Holminster wasn't mentioned. As a healer main this was the first dungeon I ever wiped as a healer when starting out, and when I queued as tank/dps also was the place where I wiped the most (due to inexperienced or extremely bad healers). Theres also that very mean starting room at Aurum Vale and the stupid sharp-turning-corner in stone vigil that cuts line of sight and often interrupts casts. All the other dungeons I have had less trouble and either never wiped there or almost did. Anyway, one incident regarding Holminster Switch was that we had a omni lv90 who was on white mage but didn't use Regen at all. We wiped a few times during pulls. I ask them to use regen and they told me to use Clemency. Me and the DPS then just collectively decided to vote dismiss after that. Sure, ask a PLD to clemency for f0cks sake. It's like this full-lv90-classes guy doesnt know Clemency is terrible. Ironic givenn that I only ever wiped Holminster if the healer was a WHM. All the others like SCH AST SGE, the nominally harder healers, could handle the dungeon perfectly fine.
@CaetsuChaijiCh
@CaetsuChaijiCh 8 месяцев назад
I spent some time talking about the difficulties of Holminster Switch in my previous video on this subject actually! It is quite a brutal one, both of the first two pulls in the dungeon! That incident you described sounds quite strange. I mean, Regen alone might not have made the difference in that situation, but then again, neither would Clemency. Multiple things would be needed to get things right, so of course in a vacuum I can't suggest what would've saved it, but BOTH regen and clemency could have helped? Even though it would be a massive damage loss for the paladin especially
@minaly22
@minaly22 8 месяцев назад
@@CaetsuChaijiCh Regen would make a lot of difference since its 1500 potency and couldve been applied mid pull. As a healer main the first thing I always do is make sure regen/aspected benefic is applied. They didnt use regen and I kept losing health as i ran to pull and by the time I stop my health is already pretty low, though they try to Afflatus Solace there simply hasnt passed enough time to accumulate much charges, and hard cast Cure 2 fails since I die before it finishes. Anyway I also had the impression that the guy did not use Assize at all though I can't really prove it since I play with animations turned off (dammit Holy 🙈).
@CaetsuChaijiCh
@CaetsuChaijiCh 8 месяцев назад
@minaly22 oh I didn't mean that regen wouldn't help. It was more that I wonder if that alone would've made the difference. Sure, optimally the paladin shouldn't need to use clemency, but sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures, hence why I said both things would help! I do think it is weird for a healer to demand clemency when they clearly decided to not use their full toolkit themselves 😅

You need dps that won't tickle the mobs along the way BUT can burst them down fast when you get to your destination, and a healer that can keep you alive without pulling aggro. Once you have your exodia team, go nuts brah, there's nothing cooler than having like 60 mobs surrounding you and they all drop in a perfect circle.

Stone vigil is actually an interesting one because of the history of the game. when arr came out stone vigil was very difficult on sch because at that level sch still had high int and low mind(they were close to even at the level it synced to but that was low mind and high int when compaired to whm it also was very awkward because cleric stance swapped the avalues of int and mnd so it pretty much didn't do anything except decrease healing until around level 46 or 47) as well as not having access to certain spells(sch was super good at healing due to fairy for 15-30 but post 30 it had a bit of a dead zone until around lvl 46-49) made sch difficult on top of that paladin had no magic defense and those ice sprites would destroy paladins, warrior was not much better due to sacrificing some defense for having more hp but it faired better due to having some self healing(at this point paladin could cross class cure and stone skin, but cure was not very useful and the cast for both were usually interrupted by the amount of incoming damage). The Dzmael Darkhold pulls was actually harder before due to the positioning of some of the enemies on a side path down the cliff, a frog could aggro along with another 5-6 ish mobs making the wall to wall pull pretty much impossible if it was in the worng part of its pathing, as well as again the low magic defense of tanks. That aurum vale pull was actually one of the level grinding pulls we used to do before they changed dungeon experience to only come from bosses, of course we'd do it slightly different than just wall to wall, sniping the forgs and then taking care of the rest of the room, that being said the Lilies of the Vale were another problematic enemy due to dealing magic damage, although at this point everyone had most of their tools so it wasn't that big of a deal. I will note the other stupid pull was after the coin counter where you would pull everything and let the eggs hatch because they gave more xp after they hatched and that pull was also very difficult(especially compared to aoeing 1-2 times while running past to kill them before they hatch) Some time during HW magic defense on tanks was changed because in the raid series some of the tank busts() were not really possible on anything aside from drk(due to it having the exclusive magic defense CD) Basically all of arr had a lot of very difficult(none were impossible but some are very close and required very specific strategy when they were new, at the time the strategy was mainly for the tank to survive for a few seconds while a blm slept everything and immediately aggro'd the boss to lock adds outside to door) Brayflox normal was another very interesting one for sch specifically as it did not have access to esuna during arr and instead had its own version called Leeches which it didn't have at that level in the dungeon that was pretty much your first instance of cleansable debuffs that were worth cleansing(stacking poison from the final boss, the other instance was the guildhest meant to teach you about cleasing debuffs in which the description says to use esuna or leeches on sch however sch did not have leeches at the level it synced you to) on top of that the comet chaser trash mobs dealt fire damage which was magic and as I mentioned previously chewed through tanks hp really fast, interesting side note most people would focus the flame drake first but they were largely not dangerous primarily doing physical and have a fairly long cast for their one elemental attack, on top of all that a lot of jobs didn;t have an aoe at that level, so targeting priority was somewhat more important. One of the crazy megapulls at the time of release I remember was from Wanderer's Palace(Hard)(thank you @cloud7050 for pointing that mistake out), pulling everything from the dungeon entrance to the door of the first boss, and then the entrance of brayflox longstop(Hard) to the first boss although that one always felt a lot easier than ofthers even though there were more enemies in the pull than some of the others.

Yeah, both the mentioned pulls in Anamnesis were fun pulls to heal through. First time I did that, was when it was current content, with a DRK who basically just told me they were gonna wall pull (or asked me, I forget honestly). And I'm the sort who'll just roll with such things the best I can, so I was okay with it. If we died, we died and could just try again anyway, or simple not wall pull. And I bet if it weren't for the walls in front of the bosses, they'd have pulled straight in, haha. I think the most surprising part was that I swear I barely had to heal that DRK, and they never used LD (nor did the dps LB).

10. Not as bad if the whole party is level sync'd and you have the right party makeup. I would say that it was probably impossible prior to the HP bump from Heavensward though. 9. It's kind of bad form to pull a pack into a boss fight, especially since Chimera requires strict positioning. The enemies here are not as bad as you think, though and this pull is pretty regularly seen nowadays. 8. Huge mistake, especially when it comes to the elementals. It's impossible for ranged ARR enemies to "miss" meaning that they will tear you a new butt hole if you pull both of the ice elemental spawns. Not sure if this changed with Endwalker, but this would definitely not be wise without a full skilled and level sync'd party. 7. This was a difficult section to even pull two packs in back in ARR. The risk of being knocked off the ledge was huge and the damage output of the frogs and the Anglerfish was a lot prior to the HP bump. It doesn't help that the first part of the dungeon always makes healers drop their guard since the tank and party get a massive damage reduction buff in the light. 6. You can't convince me that this pull is possible without some kind of devil's luck. The frogs turn the entire environment into a death trap and there's simply too much damage without a real invulnerability ability to lean on. 5. Not that bad nowadays, though it would've been problematic when TP was still a thing back in Heavensward/Stormblood and you didn't have level sync. After this point, a Warrior does most of the heavy lifting on these pulls, so it's not worth much to judge them via Endwalker standards. 4. I was able to do this pull a few times back in the day as a tank and healer both. Probably one of the best tests of how smooth a tank is and how good your healer is at snap decisions. It was more of a problem when TP was a thing, but it's pretty hard for a level sync'd party in Shadowbringers to have problems with it. 3. You can simply get unlucky here, as the Colossus can potentially critically hit you if you're not level sync'd here. For the second pull, I typically kill the first bit separately just to make it cleaner. 2. This is a typical pull since Ala Mhigo's level sync is way too generous. Even back when it first came out in Stormblood the only precaution you usually took was to kill the two gorillas. 1. This is the pull that you clicked the video to talk about, admit it. This was so much fun to do on release because it felt amazing to pull off. The strategy pre-level sync was usually to use a physical ranged LB in order to clean up most of the sahagin once they were gathered. It is the ultimate challenge for a Tank, and ultimately saves a lot of time.

Finally, a topic I can weigh in on. 10 - Considering I do this pull every time now, regardless of my team's set up, this one would't even be on my list. I never die to is, so I don't consider it a problem. 9 - This pull is fine so long as you don't just agro the boss. That's an unnessessary extra step. That said, I've done it before out of spite. Long story I won't get into. 8 - Look, I may have maxed out all the tank classes, but I'm neither dumb enough nor brave enough to influct this horror on anyone. 7 - For this pull, you can skip all the ads by NOT healing the tank or attacking the mobs if you're, say, the DPS or Healer. Let the tank pull into the boss room, start the fight, tank dies, mobs reset at that distance, and you're good to go. If, however, enemies decided to kill everyone, run in circles around the arena for a few seconds to give the tank enough time to be rez'ed, have the tank agro only the boss, and let everyone else die. Mobs should reset automatically, and if you're fast enough, you can have everyone else teleport into the boss room. 6 - No... 5 - At this level (60), you're fine doing this pull. It's not that hard, you just need to let your healer know before hand it's going to be big pll and you're going to use your Tank's invulnerability. 4 - Take what I said about '5' and paste it here. Same shit, different dungeon. Communication is important. 3 - The first big pull is condiered 'hard?' I get mad as a healer when Tank's don't do this pull. When I am playing a tank, I consider it a medium difficulty pull. As for the mega pull; it's hard but doable. 2 - Now this pull was the first to come to mind when you first started the video. A real challange and one I love running. 1 - Take what I said about '5' and paste it here. Same shit, different dungeon. Communication is important. Edit: spelling

I probably mentioned this in the other hardest wall-to-wall pulls video, but I'll mention it again. The level 50 dungeon, Amdapor Keep, the final super pull. Not only is it a really long pull, meaning your sprint will run out before you're near the end, but most of the mobs in the pull are ranged, so you're getting pelted the entire way. Without a coordinated healer, this pull is near impossible. I have successfully done it once. I was on Paladin and the healer was a WHM. I told them that when everything was grouped, I would Hallowed Ground, so they wouldn't spam Holy while I was invulnerable and to give time for my mits to refresh. It was a very stressful pull.
@CaetsuChaijiCh
@CaetsuChaijiCh 8 месяцев назад
You probably did mention it then too 😊 I think the reason I see it as "less" challenging is simply that the sheer length of the hallways give your dps an eternity to whittle down the mobs before you stop anywhere. However, your healer may have trouble providing enough healing against, for example, the ranged attacks you mentioned. I think it might very heavily depend on your healer whether it feels impossible or not! But I can see what you mean! 🤔😊 Note: I see it this way probably because sage would have a much easier time with a pull like this than a white mage given their toolkits at level 50!😅
@Dw7freak
@Dw7freak 8 месяцев назад
@@CaetsuChaijiCh Probably. It also doesn't help that it's an optional ARR endgame dungeon in the 10s roulette, so a good amount of players probably don't even have the duty unlocked, thus not many people having experience actually running the dungeon or practice with it. It's one of those few ARR dungeons where you can pull from one boss straight to the next boss door for all the pulls, as well, and all those mega pulls can be difficult. I just mentioned the last one because of how many ranged mobs there are, no way to block LOS from them, and all the bridges that you have to cross that keep you in their LOS.

Back in 2.0 the mega-pull after Brayflox Longstop (HM)'s first boss to the second boss. This pull has sooooo many hobbies that jump on random players to do quite decent damage. For reference, I've only ever mained dps but I'm learning to tank/heal, and I was running my 63 white mage in leveling roulette just for the in need bonus and fully expecting to get an ARR dungeon as per usual as I've literally never gotten anything else on her. Instead, I got pulled into Shisui when I've never been there, I've never healed anything post-level 50 in a group, and our GNB tank did this exact thing after I mentioned it was my first time there. I want to shout out amdapor keep for having functionally no walls between any of its bosses. I was legitimately surprised at how fun the pulls were to w2w when I got it in 50/60/70/80 roulette the other day. It was only after the last big one my friend realized he forgot to put Kardia on me 😂

My friends and I loved finding new ways to do big pulls and one of the most memorable ones was being able to pull all the mobs after the 2nd boss of hell's lid. If you killed a specific mob at the end of the initial big pull, it'll bring down the wall and lets your pull the 2 guardian enemies right before the last boss. I think we only found this because of running the dungeon for the whittret minion lol

I remember when I was still a little babu player, the first big pull to really give me trouble as a healer was the mega pull after the 2nd boss of Great Gubal Library (Hard). Between the LoS issues climbing the stairs and me not knowing how to heal effectively yet, it may as well have been a savage fight in the middle of the dungeon. Really shows my growth that by the end of HW I was having 10min runs while learning a different healer and being excited to try *actual* savage in SB

Learning all roles on Tam tara Deepcroft normal in three or so pulls. Starting right off the bat with with the first pull and manu more with each orb to interact with as the end of each pull. it's difficult due to the lack of starting tools and likely many people new to the game let alone large tanking pulls. Having a group to run with makes it really fun and good experience.

It was totally normal to pull like that in Shisui after the first boss. To be fair, you had way more defensive cooldowns back then, but still doable today without bigger problems. And I still wipe there because the healers are not expecting this and panic.

I never expected to see number 4, 3 and 1 in this list, I see them done (and do them myself) pretty much on the regular with no issues, at least on Chaos. I'd like to add two more spicy pulls that are what I'd call "with friends only". The first one is the real wall pull after the second boss in Qitana Ravel. You see, you CAN pull the monkeys that are throwing stuff at you before killing the rest of the pull. All you need to do is enter the area where they are until you hit around the center of it, exit it (just go back through the stone entrance) and then enter again and they'll go down from the trees to fight with the rest of the pack, letting you kill everything at the same time. Not the spiciest pull, but definitely unexpected for newer players. The second one (my personal favorite) is the wall pull at the start of Mt Gulg. Once again, the "wall" is a lie and if you approach it it'll break, letting you pull the entire area until the first boss. It's even harder than the triple pull at the end since there's more mobs and you don't have LB to help you at that point, but it's VERY fun to pull off.

Most insane pull for me has always been the first w2w on mt. Gulg. It takes basically all of my mit, my invuln, a few externals from the healer, and maybe a little bit of kiting to delay autos for as long as I can. I let the healer know before hand if im doing this pull, as it catches many off guard. I play gunbreaker/dark knight. For that reason, i usually split it up 3 and 2.

I love to micro-optimise the dungeons that have less walls and more mechanics, especially in ARR with less survivability and tools available. I find the challenge gives more room for skill expression and it's way more interesting than just easy wall-to-wall spam like in some of the HW dungeons. Through many reruns, I've figured out which tanks I prefer in which dungeons, and where I can use their invuln etc to make the biggest pulls possible even in roulettes. If you name a dungeon, especially a more complex one, I can probably name an interesting optimisation or two. One thing a friend also showed me is locking mobs out of the boss room, then teleporting in. e.g. in Qarn normal or Dzemael.

A big pull I like is between 1st and 2nd bosses of Saint Mocianne's Arboretum, if the dps are on board you can burst down the hive walls and then slide down into the boss room without fighting any of the trash.

When Anemnesys Anyder first came out, I wall to wall'ed that massive pull after the 2nd boss, and ever since, I always will. Either AOE LB it, or enjoy the slog of how long it takes to kill. One pull that is deceptive is the very first of Pharos Sirus (Normal). There aren't many enemies (a gate is in the way), but the telegraphs can be difficult to see in the water, there isn't much space on the regular floor and you quickly receive vuln stacks. Yep. Actual vuln stacks. If you are like me and got a group that hasn't run this one in a good while, it is going to be a painful one.

Ah yes. Megapulls, especially post ARR. I used to feel a tinge of uncomfortableness doing them as tank (though I was perfectly fine doing them as healer), but I still did them nonetheless. Except the Mt.Gulg megapull since I only learned it was possible from your video. Then I picked up Warrior, and I now laugh at megapulls (above ARR at least. WAR is just so stupidly busted, Not only do they not need healers most of the time, they also do the most damage of the tanks, practically invalidating the other tanks IMO). The WAR confidence have infected my other tanking too, leading to an almost embarrassingly high level of random wipes when I don't play WAR. xD

Mt. Gulg w2w after the second boss is harder than the Anyder one in my opinion. It should at least be mentioned, all the way from the second boss to the arena where the "THE LAND, THE LAND, THE LAND..." miniboss is. If you don't have a caster LB on that one, a invuln is almost required.

The pull from 2nd boss to the final boss of Mt. Gulg is one hell of a pull imo. Me and my friend have tried that pull with me tanking and him healing and there are times that I have to pop my invuln in order to survive the pull and other times where I barely don’t need to invuln, and then there are times I just die regardless of what we do. It just comes down to the DPS of the group and mitigation management for that pull I think

I'll jump on the Mt. Gulg bandwagon here. The initial huge pull is difficult, but the one between 2nd boss and the final midboss is only for the best Tanks and Healers... preferably with at least one DPS who has an Interrupt so that they and the Tank can cut down on the Forgiven Prejudice roomwide AoEs with those interrupts. (I don't know whether stuns also work; I always go straight to my interrupt if I see the pulsing red castbar.)

I didn't mention the big pulls in mt. I don't believe I covered the amdapor keep one. I do recall it has absurdly long hallways! Ironically, as a non-tank player who has every job at 90, I have never done any of the mega-pulls in the ARR dungeons but almost always do the rest of the ones on this list. I got extremely used to the Anamnesis Anyder pull during Expert Roulettes in Shadowbringers. This might just be my experience, but the first pull of Bardam's Mettle has a really bad habit of smashing unprepared tanks who try to wall-to-wall it and it can be a very unpleasant time if the healer isn't ready for that pull, too.
