E-Bike Question of the Day ⚡🚴 When it comes to the CGO600 Pro’s single-speed drivetrain, which side of the fence are you on? All for it, or not a fan? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
I have a Raleigh Back Alley single speed steel frame bike and a Haro Mary SS (Single Speed) 29" mountain bike. Love, love, love them both. This bike has my interest.
Honestly hills arent a probelm for this bike i can easily get over hills without standing. I have the non pro version. Love the design and its a great commuter for shorter distances. Only minus i have is the seat and that is easily replaced 20€.
Do you think this Bike would be good for San Francisco, commuting around, given all the hills? also, since it's single gear, when you are going fast, do your feet have to spin really really fast, since you can't changes gears (like having 7). If you don't think this is a good bike for San Francisco, can you please recommend a somewhat affordable bike for SF? Thanks!
You'll likely find SF hills pretty difficult with this bike; something with a 750W rear hub or 500W mid-drive would be better suited to that environment. What's your budget and preferred style of bike? But with a single-speed drivetrain, bikes typically have a larger chainring so you don't have to spin really fast - just not so large to make getting started impossible.
@@ElectricBikeReport I’’d say my budget is up to $1500. I like the straight handle bar bike style, not not a cruiser when you’re kind of sitting back. I like the feel of a mountain bike, but i think it’s better to have 700c size tires/rims
I’m a novice and I don’t understand why it is they wouldn’t go with a minimum of a 500 W Hub Dr.. They offer a much more expensive version with one. But 500 W motors are not that much more expensive. my only guess is that the extra torque would be especially hard on the belt drive. So that also would need an upgrade.
How tall are you? I'm 1.78m / 5'10" and wonder if getting the medium is a better choice than large. I'm kind of in between sizes, and i can't really test drive the bike where I live.
John here, I'm 5'11". By Tenways sizing, you're in the range for the Large and I'd say having more room for leg extension is important on a single-speed bike. I personally like the way smaller bikes handle but if I can't pedal them effectively that doesn't matter much!
@@ElectricBikeReport Thanks for your response. However, i just checked their website and it says that size M is "for riders between - 165 ~ 180 cm (5'5" ~ 5'11")", and size L for riders between 180 ~ 195 cm (5'11" ~ 6'5")". You're saying get the L, they're saying get the M. Now i'm super confused :(
Our video is still in the works, but we just finished reviewing the Soltera.2. They're similar in power, but the Soltera.2 has a 7-speed drivetrain instead of a single-speed, so there's a pretty big difference in feel. We liked both quite a bit, but it all depends on what suits you better!
