This is a really popular fly in the shop for our local fish populations! It's a great bugger spin-off that adds a little more flash and push than a normal Bugger.
We've caught browns, bass, bluegill, and even some saltwater species on this fellas (redfish). It's pretty easy to tie, and the materials are simple. Bass love eating this thing on the drop, and I'd recommend fishing it on a floating line to dredge the different ledges on you rivers. For trout we often fish it on a sinking line and actively retrieve it.
MATERIALS LIST:
Umpqua Jig Hook - XS506H - Sz. 1
Nature's Spirit Brass Beads - 5.5mm - Fl. Orange
Lead Free Round Wire - .030
MFC Barred Blood Quill Marabou - Tan/Rust
Estaz Metallique - Dark Copper
Hareline Medium Round Rubber Legs - Yellow
Zap-A-Gap - Brush On
You can find all this and more online or in our shop.
