NIce! I was researching these and couldn't quite pull the trigger on one because of the possibility of it not fitting on my jugs cap/size. This video was perfect for me because I use the same 5 gal. jugs as you have. Thank you for helping clear that up!
Thanks for the review. At 62 years old, I think I'm going to get one of these. Tipping 5 gallons of fuel into a rider mower and holding to fill is a messy job.
Great presentation on the pump, very much appreciated. My only complaint is that you didn’t include the specific information like Manufacturer, model, etc., nor did you include a link for the pump. I’m sure I’m not the only viewer that would appreciate you including everything. Thanks again
I had one of those. It worked great - while iti was working. I always removed the batteries between uses so as not to harm it with the acid that might leak. I also bleed any gas in it when I finished using it. Yet after a year or so. It just quit. DO NOT WASTE YOUR OMONEY. Not reliable in emergencies. Now I use a siphon/hose. Much simpler and it ALWAYS works!
I have on of these and I've been using it for about 2 years to fill my boat in the slip. The messiest part is transferring the pump from one gas can to another. Besides that it still works great. Keep the box, it's a good way to store it.
I bought one and it’s fantastic. I have 2 failed spinal fusions in my lumbar spine, so lifting a gas can is out of the question. This pump makes it so easy to fill my equipment. My only suggestion is to not trust the auto shutoff, it can sometimes not stop your gas flow when the tank is full. Other than that little thing, I highly recommend this.
I'm setting up an emergency whole-house backup generator system for my home and thought a sensible finishing touch would be a fuel pump to transfer fuel from the 5-gallon fuel cans to the generator, so I bought a pump similar to this one. The Deway looks to be manufactured by the same company as the Terapump, but the Deway has a nozzle with a valve, similar to a gas pump for your car for a few dollars more. The battery housing and the pump body look identical on both units. I'm hoping to use the fuel out of the 4 gas cans kept in the generator shed in rotation to fuel my zero-turn mower, keeping the fuel "fresh" to use in the generator should an emergency power situation come up. These are certainly not "heavy duty" pumps, and I note that the impellor on the pump is not protected from any foreign material by a filter screen. I think a tiny piece of debris could possibly be sucked into the pump rendering it inoperable. It is probably a good idea to ensure that your containers are absolutely clean before dipping one of these pumps into your fuel container. Interestingly, the housing on the pump appears to have "notches" that could hold some sort of "snap on" filter screen, but apparently neither the Deway of the Terapump include such a feature.
What I love about this pump is I can use it to pump gas or diesel fuel ⛽️ into my farm tractors . No funnels and no spill anywhere. It would be better if the hose could have been at least a foot longer. Cuts off when tank is full no spillage no mess . Comes with different size caps for different sized spouts. Except for the hose length it is everything needed to make fueling a vehicle a pleasure .
Hey Patrick, why don't you do a truck setup / build video? I would love to check out your setup. I actually just picked up a 2021 TRD Pro, and I still have my little XT250. From one taco bro to another, lets see that build!
When they work they're great, problem is I've had 2 and neither one lasted more than 10 of 15 gallons before they quit. @ $75 they should last for years. I would never buy another. Hope you have better luck than I had with this garbage pump!
This does not have a check valve, so if you leave it on the bucket all the gasoline will evaporate. This is why the safety valve is required by law so there will be no fuel leak that can cause an explosion.
Hey Patrick, My son and I were just watching your new drone video then I checked out your channel and realized it was you. Nice truck! Cool channel. I subscribed. You talk to Brandon lately? Jim
i think your fan base was all about dual sports(XT250). if you wouldve either fix the xt or get a new dual sport example a drz400 or something like that im sure your subs wouldve kept going up instead of going down like they did it was your bread and butter like for the xt vids you had so much detail in eveything you did to it that no other channel on YT was comparable to yours but this is what happens to most youtubers that decide to change completly theyre content from one day to another although i do understand that life can change alot but yeah anyways good luck to ya buddy! hope everything is well
Yeah, but life takes you down unknown paths. One day I’ll get back into riding. But I didn’t make this channel for followers, I made it so it would help help people who had the same questions I did. But I appreciate your input and you’re right, my channel still is a great source of knowledge for the XT and my sub count would have climbed if I kept making videos. Have a good day brother! Ride safe, and be adventurous!
Great video, however this pump is worthless. Worked great for 6 months. After 6 months it started to squeal and the flow slowed down to a trickle and then just stopped.. Very disappointing. Save your money.
