Terraria 1.3 - Skeletron Prime, Expert Mode Boss Battle

Man...I remember when the most powerful thing you could get in Terraria was the Dark Lance...god do I feel old.

And yeah the dye is called Reflective Gold Dye. My new favorite dye by far :)

A day after I killed wall of flesh.. "The air is getting colder around you". I thought I was going to die in a pile of my own entrails, since It took me 7 tries to kill wall of flesh. I didnt even have 400 health. All I had was Necro armor, a phoenix blaster and the stupid amount of explosive bullets I crafted right after WoF. How did I not die, may you ask? "Slime. Saddle." Is my answer. I bounced on his head and managed to ignore the damage he did while trying to kill him with the phoenix blaster. Was it fun? NO. My right hand was IN PAIN after the fight. Just "Clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickcclickcclick" it was tiring. I am going to use the slime saddle on destroyer as well. Maybe I can ignore his damage altogether... Oh wait, he has probes. God damn it.

With this I'm done with the Mechanical Bosses of 1.3. Now we continue our adventure in search of new loot and glory!

When I first heard of Yrimir I said " Eh he can't be that good." Watched a video "WE MUST ALL WORSHIP YRIMIR!!!!

***** You should use the magic quiver or magic musketball bag because they give an extra boost of critical strike. I think it gives 31% more crit to your attacks. Takes 3998 arrows or 3998 musket balls I believe at a crystal ball to make these. They're really useful and although you don't have variety or anything like that, they are good with boosting damage. On my Ranger build with endgame armor Im hitting 5k-6k with Phantasm. I really enjoy expert mode so far, and I hope to see more challenges from you in the future :P. I forgot to mention they give unlimited arrows/bullets respectively and fit into the ammo slot.

Just when I thought you weren't going to upload videos, you proved me wrong. Good job.

A little tip if you have good wings : if you fly up the highest that you can and slow fall there for a bit, he will follow you. Dodge him, land, and he should be slow enough for you to fly around him and shoot him while he stays high up, ensuring you a safe fight. I beat him like that with my Hoverboard since I did it to get Plantera on a new world, but you can still get wings nearly as good in early hardmode, like the Harpy or Frozen Wings.

When I opened the skeleton prime treasure bag, it had Valkyrie robes, Valkyrie circlet, and some sort of wings. The tooltip said "good way to impersonate a dev"

Hey Yri, I have 2 questions and would be very happy if you could answer them: What blocks/what are those 2 Pillars that the angel statues are placed on made of and which blocks are used for the middle water part ? They look like they are painted white. Why are you using Lightning and not Frostspark Boots ? they got added in one of the later 1.2 updates and are quite easy to miss, but they are a little bit better.

***** You have like 700 buffs for Skeletron Prime, imagine what you would need for the final boss in expert mode (I am guessing every single buff) btw great vid

I fought the mechanical bosses earlier, and I think Skeletron Prime is the easiest of the ones, I felt. Granted, I had two The Eye of Cthulu yoyos with the accessory that lets you use both and with their counterweights and extentions, and the DPS you can get with those things is ridiculous. Without any attack boosting accessories and the Beetle armor I could get about 600-800 dps (according to the DPS Counter accessory thing). New favorite weapon class. I really hope they don't nerf them...

Wish there was a gamemode which unlocks after beating moon Lord on expert which is called NIGHTMARE MODE. Every enemy gets 3x their stats, bosses get 4 times their original health and some even stronger! Every boss would have 3 to 5 forms and exclusive nightmare mode items.

Skeletron Prime has always been your bane ? Funny, because it somewhat is for me now, especially as a mage character where the DPS can be kinda low with potion sickness and all that. I remember back in 1.1, the twins were my biggest enemies, Prime was just a tank, later in 1.2 when they got buffed back, the twins were a issue at first until I found out how to play with their AI, can almost do them damageless now. Prime however is still a big issue as dealing that much damage to him and staying alive is a difficult task until the arms are down.

I love your videos, but it would be more useful to know which equipment you're actually using, I've never seen half this stuff before and I can't make out which buffs you've got or how you get them.

How to moon lord: Legendary Terra Blade, Vanpire knives, beetle armor, all equipables with the "Menacing" Modifier, and a crap ton of buffs

Very nicely done. I honestly had more difficulties with the pre-hardmode bosses on expert mode, especially skeletron, could you do videos on them maybe? EDIT: Nevermind, you already humiliated him. Good work ;)

i kinda wish they had skeletron prime's cannon shoot a seeking missle like skeletron's skulls do, because really, skeletron prime's cannon is just... there...

Who knows? Maybe 505 and Re-Logic are making another mechanical boss on Terraria.

To defeat the other bosses I recommend you to hit them with ichor arrows or bullet to lower there def. Also I defeated the destroyer first then to the twins use crystal bullets on twins and a mega shark(if you already defeated the destroyer) also use the bowl of soup buff :)

I spawned a Skeletron Prime right before the words that appeared when one spawns naturally so I had to fight 2 Skeltron Primes and I thought I didn't have good enough gear to even fight one but I still beat them both.

The easiest way to kill the Mech bosses is: 1 Kill the destroyer with a Titanium/Adamantite repeater and holy arrows. 2 Then kill Skeletron Prime and The Twins with the Mega-Shark.

i recently realised something while beating him.. i was getting his health low (40000hp -> 8000hp) and then suddently he would spin his head and instantly go over 9k and would go so fast and deal 400-900'damage and insta-kill me

ah this brings back memeories when me and my friend played terraria 1.2 together on mobile. we were trying to beat all the bosses and get diffrent type of armor...i remember something about that i was the angel and he was the demon (strange friendship i guess) the only wings avalible at the time were angel and demon ones so i brought this "angel demon" thing when we had beaten the destroyer and when we splitted up the souls i got 10 he got 10. then i had a ideea of trading my legendary nights edge for his 10 souls he accepted it but we had to kill destroyer again me with my legendary excalibur and him with the legendary nights edge. and then we teamed up to beat ocram when we had nothing to do we switched to pvp >:) and created new characters. i remember the last time i beated him i had demonite armor and a hellstone sword lol

Yri. It's not that I'm doubting your Legendary, Unreal and Mythical powers... But if you do an Expert. Hardcore. Playthrough... If you kill all the bosses.. You're gonna make me feel so inadequate. I've gotten killed countless times in Expert, thinking I was hot shit. Blue Slimes have killed me more than 3 times! D: sigh Good luck on your Expert Hardcore Playthrough v.v

I always found the skeletron prime boss fight to be the easiest of the mechanical bosses. All you need are gravitation potions (stay in the air longer and makes it easier to dodge) and some fast-firing weapon, like the clockwork rifle or the megashark. I always beat skeletron prime first because of that.

Within days he knows how to beat most expert boss. Wow, just wow.

My world is not letting me spawn the wall of flesh. I throw the guide voodoo Dallas in the lava and it kills my guide but the wof does not spawn. This has happened 4 times
