Terrible Fire and Advance Drill 

We need a fire and retreat

There's little reasoning for using the fire and advance drill. The only instance that made sense in my mind were when you're preparing to charge the enemy; this allow you to close the distance while firing before charging in for the final blow.

I used it exactly once in multiplayer towards the end of a battle when I wanted to shoot and then charge. I figured the unit would advance just a bit quicker than it does. Anyway I did charge and win but there is no suppression or whatever effect younger me thought there was from shooting and moving closer to boost said charge.

Last time I used it when I fight war master when I was low on ammo on a small unit

I never saw a point in using the fire and advance drill, due to rank fire and platoon fire being way more effective. Plus due to the constant reforming, spreading out of units and the poor rate of fire just gives the enemy all the time they need to absolutely blast your lines. 1/10 would not recommend (Other than maybe what you said about the low number use, never thought about using them in that way but might seem effective?) At 7:40 the guy fourth column across (from the very left) and fourth row down casually executing his friend in the back

Ive used it in fort seiges, seems to work okay as one unit deploys ropes, as the other gains ground, while shooting. But yeah.. havent found much use. Oh, Jimraynor855 here.
