The design of the new headlight is marvelous, it has by fat the most segments among all the matrix headlights which do not have a lens in the highbeam section.
NHTSA will never allow fully adaptive European style headlights in the United States. Very sad fully adaptive headlights have been around in Europe for more than 10 years now. all that is permitted in the United States is automatic high low beam and turning headlights, and these have been around for more than 30 years in the USA
Thanks for your comment :) I never quite understood why it's not legal in the US, it provides more/better light on the road and if it works properly, dazzles other drivers less.
Thanks for your comment :) I have the same experience as you, this one seems a bit worse than 2024.20.9 when it comes to recognising other cars at long distance. It is also the first time since 2024.20.6.2 that another car has flashed at me.
@@CatsAndRandomStuff Thanks for the super fast reply! Amazing! I thought it would be better but apparently it's worse ahaha. Im still stuck at .20.9. We'll see when I get the new one. with the current one I get flashed like 10 times in a 30 minute drive 😅
Np :) Haven't experienced it as bad as you, have driven about 1.5 hours in the dark with this update and I have only been flashed once, but have noticed times when it didn't dim the lights fast enough IMO, but the other driver didn't flash. They have definitely done something to the way the car "sees" the world in this update, have had significantly more phantom braking against oncoming cars on roads without a central reservation with this than I have had in a long time. But fortunately, it won't be long before the next update comes, where it might be better, we never know what they change in the background :)
Thanks for your commentary :) I do not think there is anything physically moving in the headlight, as for example on the old Golf 6 with xenon that I have previously had, without being sure, I think they have made the turning effect using the matrix part in the headlights. Have not noticed that the light turns with high beam on, only with low beam.
