“What other car in this price range can match this charging speed and this range?”… THAT is precisely what other automakers seem NOT to understand. I was checking out the KIA EV3 as a second EV (to replace the Zoe and its expensive rental battery), but when a car gets to the “magic” 40k euros threshold, the obvious choice is the Model 3 RWD.

On our Model Why?!? they keep coming on to streak up the windshield with bugs in the summer and saltz schmutz in the winter, and yet often don't come on for pouring rain. The worst is that it automatically re-enables itself every time you dare to engage the phantom braking plagued cruise control. I absolutely love everything else about the car, but that software bit is proper maddening.

If so I haven't driven the dual motor highland so cannot tell, but to my ears sounds better than any other car I have driven, but I am not an audiofile. My car has the "premium white" interior which seems pretty good to me and every person who has got in my car goes wow, but if it is different to the black I do not know. I have a 2020 M3 LR and I have to say that the e-premacy tires make a big difference. I had pilot sport tires when the car was new, they were great, the car was on rails but the e-premacy increased the range by at least 10% and are a lot quieter; even if the car is older now and for sure the battery has some sort of degradation (it can't be as new, is a matter of fact) I can do much longer drives now. Some journeys that required a stop 4 years ago are now an easy no stop.
@lbtobl83
@lbtobl83 2 дня назад
Real problem which should be addressed more with eprimacy tires: wet grip. There is none. Also when tarmac is dry and slippery. EPrimacy are downright dangerous. Who cares about 5 % more range, safety 1st!

I have this car in white and its driving is ruined by the missing stalks. Not only blinkers are a problem, but also high beams, wipers and TACC controls are compromised and very cumbersome to use. For example you will always flash cars in front of you if you are turning on or off high beans, because it’s the same button that you must hold longer and you can only turn off high beams when they are shining. When auto disabled, even holding the button will not turn them off. Another stupid thing is missing option to resume TACC speed or to accommodate to lower speed when slowed down by other cars. There is no button or wheel scroll for any of those. I can go on and on.

What would be interesting which I've not seen would be 10km runs to ascertain the accurate Wh/km of an EV at 1km-5km incremental speeds from say 40km-130km. From this you could plot a graph of efficiency vs speed and extrapolate range vs speed.

Three main reasons I think. 1. People are still scared that Tesla's build quality, reliability and material feel is poor, which is not the case anymore with the Chinese or Germany built cars. 2. The removal of the indicator and shift stalks is a capital D deal breaker for a lot of people. 3. Tesla is rubbish because it cost more to charge it over a cheap and more economical range because a smaller battery you have to stop and charge it more but would cost less then charging a bigger battery so over 2 or 3 years would of cost you over a £1000 more then any cheaper car. I have the Kona 65kw and fast charging it only cost me £18. From 20% to 80% on a 150kw charger pulling in 70kw. Several things to nuance: 1. The car has 18¨no 19¨. 2. The etron gt that you tested a few days ago is more efficient a) tire 21 vs 18 25-30% penalty that's 4kw plus b)305 vs 235 that's another 2kw +/- c) weight 2400kg vs 1800kg that's 2kw +/- Not to mention the amount of chassis hardware that the Audi vs Tesla carries, in the end Tesla goes empty 75kw, Audi full 97kw, if BMW or Audi make a D-segment sedan car with them tires and those weights I'm sure it will be more efficient than Tesla. Tesla is software, weight and price, if VW for example starts offering that I'm sure it will be more efficient, if a 4.30mts Born weighs the same as a 4.70mts model 3. Tesla must go to 800v now or it will have problems. They still have the advantage of the SuC but if we start to see cars with 600kms real Lucid type the super charge will no longer make so much sense. Let's start comparing things well that the model 3 is not a Starship, although some owners believe it.
