you should get the mudguards - not the Tesla ones for the front wheels only. The better chinese ebay ones for £20 for 4. protect the car underside from salt and paint chips

Very useful video thanks. Maybe #5 is a bit of a stretch ;-) I’m definitely going for the ones you recommended but I’ve the feeling it’d be a winter thing and will revert to shipped mats for the summer for a more refined look

Thanks! I'm definitely finding these mats are coming in handing over the muddy winter months!

@@jdhartwell732 funny enough they are no longer available (as per your link) and looking for a similar alternative with the raised edges is proving very time consuming!!

Fully understand the reason why you got the mats and I’m sure they do the job but for me, they cheapen the interior.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from - they definitely change the look quite a bit so understandably not to everyone's tastes.

great vids! I noticed the "frunk" in your car doesn't have the shopping bag hooks at the back.. that's a bummer!

Love your videos they have been so good. I finally get mine on the 28th. Been a long wait for it. I've heard stories of the wind being loud in the car and people adding draft protection. Have you found this?

you forgot the most important ones! sunshade and a screen protector for the screen!

Hi Dushene, ah, I haven't found need for either just yet! But then again, I've not had to deal with a great deal of sunshine...

Hi do the mats and boot liner fit the 2021 version?

Hi JD. Great vid. New MIC M3s come with a USB for sentry mode as standard with the car. Also £7 on microfibre cloths?? These cost 99p in home bargains!

Thanks for the video. Very informative. I have a 2021 M3 LR for delivery on March 1 and I'll take your recommendations on the boot and froot mats. But I presume I need a difference froot mat for the latest model since the area is smaller. Any recommendations on this?

Just ordered mine same spec, when did you order yours??
@Macfilos
@Macfilos 3 года назад
@@chargedup8491 I ordered on January 7, 2021 and was a bit surprised about the lead time. But the nearer it got to March 1 I got to worrying that it would come with a 20 plate. So phoned Tesla and was told the next shipment (the first from China) would come in late February but the cars would be registered on March 1. Good, I thought. But the interesting take is that all new M3s are now coming from Shanghai and have the redesigned door trim and heated steering wheel. Don’t know about the battery pack, but I think the made-in-China long range is the same as the Californian model. Lead time should be shorter for you. Hope this is helpful.

This is great. Thanks JD, your tips and tricks made me go for a Model 3 using your referral code. Hope you get the 1000 miles. Also, just wondering, how is the USB stick doing in terms of using as a dashcam. I have heard that sometimes they burn out and it is better to get an external SSD drive. What are your thoughts?
@jdhartwell732
@jdhartwell732 3 года назад
Thanks very much mate! So the USB stick itself that I have is just the holder for the SD card, which I still think is the best option. I'd recommend going for one of the "high" or "max" endurance versions from someone like SanDisk, as these are made specifically for high-speed and frequent writing and over-writing - but I agree just a standard one would be more susceptible to burning out. The other advantages over an external SSD would be the size, and the ability to deal with really high or low temperatures (which probably isn't something we need to worry about with our weather to be fair). Hope that helps!

Useful video, thanks. I've just ordered the same spec! I've seen on other videos that they recommend a screen protector - what's your view on this?
@jdhartwell732
@jdhartwell732 4 года назад
Nice! Got a delivery date yet? In general I don't normally go in for screen protectors (on my phone/iPad), mainly because I don't like the thought of having something extra stuck on there that could make the screen look slightly less slick... I think I'm less worried about damaging the screen (my thinking being that there's less chance of minor scratches compared to your phone and no chance of dropping it) and I haven't yet had any issue with screen glare/noticeable finger prints, so for now I'm happy without. I'll be keeping a close eye on it though, and next weekend I'll probably put together a video going over the basic functionalities of the screen, so we'll see how it holds up on camera!

Vey informative thank you. How do you get on with those seats?, I'm very tempted but my OCD might overrule me!

I do think the white interior looks a lot nicer than the black, but I think I've accepted that they're not going to perfect for too long. Since it's mainly just me in the car, I can keep it quite clean, if kids were involved I'm not sure I'd risk it!

Would you recommend a screen protector?
@jdhartwell732
@jdhartwell732 3 года назад
Hi Jacob, I've not used one yet and haven't found that the screen is getting scratched. I'd consider it if glare is going to be an issue in the summer months though, but I'm waiting to see!

@@jdhartwell732 9 months on, same question - would you recommend a screen protector? I think one probably isn't needed, but I haven't got my Tesla yet, so would be interested in your view.

I’m waiting for my model 3 in the same colour and wondered whether you’ve fitted the paint protection film Tesla sell (£50) to the panel behind the rear door and in front of the rear wheel arch? Or have you found stone chips to be not a problem?
@jdhartwell732
@jdhartwell732 3 года назад
Hi Richard, I haven’t had any paint protection fitted, and haven’t found chipping to be a problem yet - although I’m probably not driving that frequently in places where’s chipping is more likely to occur.
