Tesla Model Y One Year Review! The good, bad, and...lessons learned! 

We just bought our first Tesla last month, a 2023 Model 3 for my wife. I went from skeptic to fanboy within days of ownership. My one month review? Never going back. The biggest issue is figuring out how we can afford a Model Y for me! 😂

Great video. thanks for creating. I think others had the same suggestions as you and they include some of the things you suggested in the new Cybertruck, such as being able to power your home and the drain plug for the rear storage for packing it with ice.

First time watching one of your videos. Excellent summary of the Y. Our 2023 only has 4k miles so far and I 💯 agree with your summary. We rarely drive our gas cars anymore and I'm convinced we are getting a second Tesla soon! One other thing to add is that the 3/Y are both the highest rated crash safety cars on the road. Thanks for your informative video on your model Y. I just got my new model Y LR in Aug 2023 and really enjoy the vehicle - has HW4 and newer cameras. There are some tips you mentioned which I will see how it goes here in Northern Illinois and in the snow. Maybe the vehicle would handle a little bit better by putting it in the "Chill" mode of driving. I will find out soon. Being retired, I just drive around town and don't do long trips. I charge my vehicle at home from 70 percent up to 90 percent. This usually takes about 1.5 hours using my 220 volt outlet. Getting cooler now so I preheat my car before driving off with it. Using Navigation with the Tesla is amazing and easy to setup small trips. I also use voice commands allot. Thanks for your video and take care.

We feel the same way about our Model Y, Its literally so amazing I still can't believe it after 2 years. It feels like a car 50 years in the future, compared to current gas cars. I'll never not own a Tesla from now on. Thanks for the Alexa skill app idea, I had no idea I could use that to pre condition my car, awesome!

Nice video. Thanks for the recap. I love my Tesla Model Y also. I was visiting a friend up your way recently and we took his Ioniq 5 on a short road-trip to Leavenworth, very scenic drive. Was a good day and a nice change from the 100 degree weather where I’m at.

I enjoyed your 1 Year Tesla Y review! Your info about driving in the snow is very interesting, I think maybe turning off regen braking may be the best for the snow. My Y was delivered in June but I'm expecting to need to drive in snow soon.

We should be taking delivery on my Y this weekend! Your video was helpful just having some good expectations as well as some tips as I'm going to be adjusting to a new way of driving (hitting breaks in the snow I wouldn't have even thought about!) Our 2 Teslas are wonderful. I took advantage of the FSD swap too and upgraded from a ‘18 Model 3 Performance to a ‘23 Model 3 Performance. I’m glad you still use FSD. I remember that crazy turn it made last year. 😅

I have a 4 month old Model Y and I found some info that I did not know in this video, thanks a lot! Definitely going to look into drive modes for snow driving. I work in Kent, so I’m one of your manny Tesla neighbors!

Excellent down to earth review!

This is without doubt the best ownership review that I have watched. The delivery, pace, information, presentation and editing is perfect, it is a credit to you❤ I collect my Tesla model Y next week so the excitement is building! Looking at accessorising it in the meantime, lots on offer so its difficult to choose what to buy first! All weather mats, trunk mat and mud flaps are high on my list initially with additional items ready for santas list! Do you have a dog? Im wondering how accommodating the Model Y is for a dog. Thank you for taking time out to share your ownership experiences, I really enjoyed watching and learning from your experience.

Interesting low key review. I enjoyed and appreciated not having someone yelling at me with overhype. I don’t have a Tesla but I’m thinking about it and yours was one of the best non sales pitch sales pitches. I bought the Bolt EUV and absolutely Love it! The all EV is so much better in every way than an ICE or even the CRV hybrid that I will trade out in the next 6 months. That’s where I’m thinking about something with longer range than our current 270. Yes the Bolt charges to higher than its rated range. The point you make repeatedly is that public chargers will become more numerous and that will completely eliminate range anxiety. In the meantime I plug in on level 2 at home a few hours a week and driving is nothing but fun and almost free. Thank you for taking time to do your video. I’m glad you love your Tesla. I’m thinking about the Model Y long range. I’m also thinking I need to rent one from Turo so I can test drive one before I commit. In any case, continued best of luck to you and Thanks Again!

I feel the same way about my MY. 1year 27k miles. My tires are about 3/4 worn just had them rotated yesterday. I hop in just to listen to certain songs!

I also like when parking close to a curb, the car’s onscreen goes to top view and shows how close you are to the curb. So far has saved the rims from curb rash. 👍🏻👍🏻

The nice thing about the route from Spokane to Seattle, there are several super chargers right off I-90. Super convenient and no range anxiety for me. Public charging in Spokane isn’t the best from what I’ve seen

I love my Tesla too! And thanks for all the tips! Regen braking hit me during a snow storm out of Duluth, MN. I accelerated my way out of it. I think your advice was to break your way out. I think its now possible to turn off Regan braking. That would be my choice!
