My wife and I purchased a Lucid Air Touring last month. Absolutely AMAZING vehicle in all respects. Perfect blend of luxury and performance. Not our first EV (BMW i4 is our other), but it replaced a MB GLE 350. Will never go back to an ICE again. Looking forward to the Gravity!
@@whynotstartusingyourbrain8726 Will be interesting to watch a company with well over $4 Billion in savings and a Trillionaire majority owner go bankrupt. Getting my popcorn ready. (interesting user name ya got there, sport)
@@whynotstartusingyourbrain8726 porsche new taycan has better range, better luxury, looks 100x more futurstic and dope, better perfromace.. etc.. then the tesla model s plaid. But u will justify why u can't afford it and have to buy teslas. 😂
@@G82Watts no, you more no. Porsche gar nothin like FSD and Kiew don't even try. Therefore they are not made for the future. Also their software is a joke.
@@whynotstartusingyourbrain8726 FSD is just marketing. It's not true FSD. And it's been in beta since it's inception. Y'all are the guinea pigs yet you're calling it a feature
I drove Touring and it is impressive. Legacy ICE company such as BMW and MB does not take full advantage of EV, just check out how large the frunk of Air is.
First things first, everybody changes that garish CarPlay background to a neutral color or black... at least I hope they do. It hurts my eyes. Driving my Air GT for 2 years now w/ no issues or service other than a mobile tech coming out to check my car for a recall. It was good so no work needed. The Lucid is great on long trips. Living in Texas I needed a car w/ long range to get anyplace. I have been all over the middle of the country and up into the Colorado Rockies. Lucid's range makes travelling easy even if some chargers are unreliable. In any case, the car can go longer in a stretch than I can and charges quickly enough that I seldom wait for it. The Lucid is really something special, but like any EV there is a learning process needed before you can get the most out of it.
Weren't some key lucid staff previous team members on the Model S project? Looks like they put that experience to good use! Hopefully when the S gets its redesign, it will be good enough push Lucid and others a bit further than they planned. Shame just about any ev of this calibre would be a tremendous ownership challenge here. Techs are exceedingly rare, you'd have to cross borders to get to dealerships, charge points in the capital can be counted on one hand, you'd need a little private solar plant at home to feed it as state power is a joke (unless you live near some VVIP), the roads will absolutely punish your suspension and special tyres, connectivity is expensive... Basically, you'd have to be really dedicated or in a certain echelon to own one with minimal headaches. Doesn't make it less of a nice ride though!
Lucid Air is miles better than the Merch EQS, Audi enron or BMW i7- those cars don't take advantage of EV packaging, have less performance, less range, less efficiency poorer handling and look UGLY!
It def looks better then any tesla but the bmw i7 is def a nice looking car. The i7 isn't mean to be super fast even tho it is. It's a pure luxury car which is what people should want an EV to be. Like a rolls royce. Super quite sitting in luxury. Use ur sports car for when u want an engaging experience
There is a lot more to the drivability of these vehicles than straight line speed and acceleration. I'm glad to see this video highlighted how incredible it is to actually drive.
Are you an early adopter with any EV manufacturer since they are all new? I would also argue that pure play EV manufacturers have an advantage since all resources are focused on EV technology.
Why do Tesla guys always assume CCS based EV drivers have to depend on Electrify America chargers? There are numerous other CCS based charging companies. EVGo, Chargepoint, Volta, etc all dot the map.
Lucid hardware is superior to ones of Tesla. Only thing inferior to Tesla is anonymous driving technology, in which Lucid needs more time to develop and implement. Really hoping this company will succeed with upcoming Gravity and smaller affordable suv in the future.
Just have a look at where the display is positioned and how big it is. That immediately tells you if the manufacturer understands electric mobility or not. The main purpose of the display is not to control the vehicle. It's to entertain the passengers with games, movies of videos. Any manufacturer who doesn't get that is as lost as lose it.
Tesla has tons of range....they are intentionally manipulating software / regen braking for obsolescence reasons. If you place all of your cards on the table, you can only go down...rather than upwards were Tesla is incrementally trending. Im sure the Model S could hit 500 or 600 if TSLA wasn't holding back.
@@isserdigan2835 overly complex, significantly more moving parts, and have yet to see a lucid achieve 300k, 500k miles on an original drive unit…..until that data exists there’s nothing factual that says the quality and engineering or manufacturing matches TSLA. Additional the roadster will take the speed crown leaving the marketing team scrambling
@@rambo4war speed crown? Are you sure? If Lucid scaled down to a a roadster. The smaller drive unit and weight savings will give Lucid an advantage. Lucid's drive motor unit i ms so small but can produce 650 hp per Unit. Hilarious that you think Tesla can shrink their motors when they are more concerned with autopilot rather than driving dynamics. Also Lucid's battery and drive units are tested in E formula 1. They have data. Plus the way the motor was built. Its lubricated from the inside which decreases wear on the motor. I suggest you watch Lucid tech talks.
