Played it yesterday and absolutely loved it. I found the lenght to 100% perfect, because i was hooked on the insanely fun movement and collecting everything this way was tons of fun! Gorgeous visuals and music combined with cool world building was enough to immerse me. It's an easy 8/10 for me, although pricey for its lenght it's a steal on a discount
Glad you enjoyed it! It's music, world and graphics were incredible for sure, even though I had some issues with its gameplay and length. I'll be giving the first one a shot as well at some point, I'm very curious about it and they did release a remake some time ago!
@@soulsborneseeker i hated the first one tbh, the controls suck and puzzles/bosses are annoying. I didn't want to try part two at first because of that, but i'm pleasantly surprised
Darn.. I was really looking forward to this one, but when I tried out the demo during Steam Next Fest a few weeks ago, I was a bit disappointed by it. I can't believe finishing the main story only took you two hours, that's incredibly short. I'm probably still going to play it myself eventually, but thanks for the heads up!
Nice review! I haven't tried this one yet, although I was interested. I do think I'll wait for a big sale as you suggested. It's also somewhat disappointing to me that with a nice art style they have such stilted frames on the animations of the characters. It's jarring to me.
I think the opposite, teslagrad 1 was horrible, floaty and inprecise controls with pixel perfect jumps required to progress... It was frustrating as fk. Teslagrad 2 was smooth, varied and satisfying with much better movement and level design. Imo
I only lasted about 30 minutes. Visuals were beautiful (but like you said, some areas felt bland by comparison), sound and music was fine. The mechanics seemed really promising as well. In fact, that's what made me download the game... But my God! It was SO DAMN FRUSTRATING to control. Enemies were underwhelming at best and their placement was terrible and conflicted with the platforming. Checkpoints were oddly placed, and there was no indication where they were until you died and respawned at them. All in all though, if a game has bad controls, I don't stick around for too long. What a shame too... the game looked really promising!
