I was surprised when you used the word adequate when describing back seat room in the Corolla. My understanding from watching other reviews was that it is actually best in class in back seat room and that back seat room is one of the Corollas stand out features along with the styling which is far more interesting looking that the prior car. As always a good review and I was stunned that the LE got better mileage than the ECO. Did you drive it any differently than the ECO?
Rear leg room is CRAZY in these. I have the '15 LE and I'm 6'2". Leaving the driver seat how I position when I drive still gives me waaay more than enough leg room in the back.
We're actually both wrong. It is 38 highway according to the specs I have from Toyota, the 39 listed in our text and stated in the video was a type on our notes. The Corolla gets knocked down to 37 mpg highway when equipped with the 17" S wheels. This one had the 16" LE alloys which remain at 38. Nice catch tho! I don't make a deliberate attempt at hyper-miling no. Our routine is typically about 70% highway 30% city, so it does lean toward highway. But we don't drive like grandmother.
I like Toyota cars (and I currently drive an older Corolla) but I WOULD NEVER BUY A CVT, I just hate the way they feel and sound. I know that the quality of the Elantra and the new Mazda3 is not as good as the Toyota but they have regular automatic transmissions so when my old car goes I'm NOT going to be buying another Corolla if it has the CVT. I might get the base Corolla that has the old 4-speed automatic, that's my ONLY OPTION if i want to buy the new Corolla design.
BUY AMERICAN KEEP THE MONEY HERE WE NEED JOBS HERE, EVEN IF THE COROLA IS ASSEMBLED HERE MOST OF THE MONEY GOES OVER SEAS. WAKE. UP WE NEED THE JOBS HERE BE PROUD. SUPPORT. OUR COUTRY BE AN AMERICAN.
Why doesn't Ford or GM just buy out Toyota, that way global sales of Toyota cars would have all of the profits going towards the U.S.? Sounds like a good idea to me.
roger lopez American cars are crap though, my sister has a Chevy Traverse and it breaks down more than my 2002 Trailblazer. I have a theory that all American cars are made to lower quality just so the consumer can take it back to the dealer more for servicing, thereby making you pay more for a car in the end.
