Man, you find some cool stuff out there amongst the coffee bush Andrew. I detect with an AT Max and use their 5X8 DD coil in trashy areas. After listening to you I might have to invest in the NEL 5 inch coil for it though. Thanks for your advice and for posting your very entertaining adventures.

You have got me inspired so I bought a metal detector and detected around an old primary school near me and found a coin dated back to the 1800's but I don't know what coin it is as I cannot find anything on the net that matches it.

When I had my CTX I had the 17,11, 6 coils. Much later I then got their 10 x 5 . Sure it was a sensitive coil, but it didn't overshadow the functionality of others and after a trial period I wasn't choosing it over the others so after a year I got rid of it as I wasn't using it at all. I don't detect Parks, which probably was its best suit environment anyway. So I probably learn't my lesson with the CTX and buyer beware , don't always believe the sales hype.

The best find was that 1858 threepence. it must have been lost very early in its life. I don't think your gun pit is a gun bit. a bit more likely to be off a powder flask. Far too lightly constructed for a gun part. You had a good day playing with those coils.

I would say the things like the pully and the lock face are green and brass so I would count those a positive as well. I also like the way you put the coins on your digger handle and your knee it makes them have a better camera view. Are the 10x5 coils as hard to find down under as they are here in the states? I cant find one anywhere.

yea i don't know seems like it would be ok for some coin shooting and the 6 inch round would be better for prospecting

Hey, I like the video but have a couple questions now. I am trying to decide which coil is better for that small gold, the 6" minelab coil or coiltek 10x5? Have you done any test or searching focused only for gold? I will be looking for small gold in creeks, rocky areas and was wondering which works better for depth and overall gold targets in your experience? Thanks

You think with more time you might like it more? I have one preordered to use at some foundation sites loaded with iron and open areas with iron/trash so I prefer the extra coverage. Depth is the big thing I’m curious about, at least compared to the 6 inch

Hello Andrew, so what's your opinion on the coil, is it worth lashing out or just keep using the 6 inch and stock coil... The second 3 pence you found I believe it's called jubilee head... Som nice finds there Andrew. But you haven't convinced me the 10x5 is worth getting at all. There at thisnstage, is literally no decent comparison or depth test videos of the 10x5 Vs the 11' or 6 Inch.
