@@TheGambleGame Well you can get things that have that picture of what you want from places like AliExpress. It _might_ be what you ordered. Or it might be a knock-off but made decently, or it might be a cheap crap knock-off. You're rolling the dice even more so than with Amazon; which already has way more than it's fair share of counterfits, knock-offs, and just straight up crap.
Loving the moon, that is definitely being bought as a gift this Christmas. Thank you for the review, I would never have found it otherwise. Totally stellar without an astronomical price.
That globe one reminds me of the Clamp Inc logo from Gremlins 2. The moon one is amazing. But for about $90 -- that's one small step out of my price range. The UFO one -- I can neither confirm nor deny that I like it.☺️
It IS really cool. A smaller one is available on Amazon at 98 atm. I got one for a white elephant gift at my job, my coworker open it and I figured out how to levitate it every time.
Have me sold on the Moon and the UFO. Ever since I was little, I was a total geek for random items like that, but especially things that light up -- I'd totally get either of those, or both! Great review as always!
I bought the speaker! It is so awesome. More so in person. Getting it aligned is challenging the first time but it gets easier.the speaker is grand. FYI we are in our 70's. Hubby was over the moon and completely surprised..and again; like the purple mattress your review helped me decide to purchase it. Thanks keep up your wonderful work.
You should have had the UFO say "Surrender, Earthlings... Or be destroyed!" or something else goofy. Or, maybe had War of the Worlds radio program playing through it.
The purpose of the foam may be to assist in positioning the object above the base, preventing the magnets from snapping together forcefully and risking damage.
For you chess buffs out there, they make a levitating chess board. My husband wanted one but then decided he had enough chess sets, Basically the base sits under your coffee table and the levitating board floats above on the top of the coffee table. It really has a lot more power than these to be that far apart from each other but it is pretty cool. It would be an awesome display piece though.
Back in the"90's, I had a Star Trek Enterprise that floated. Don't leave it alone with the dogs ‼️‼️. My Akita played with mine. Never worked right after.

I'll bet most people are fascinated by the moon version, it's the detail you can see when it lights up. From here it looks like a real moon, add in the ability to really spin it, and it changes colors/glows, made of cheese; the clear winner.
I have a very similar moon. It doesnt float but it comes with a little stand and has a little touch control for brightness and color. It makes a wonderful little lamp and you can take it with you to the kitchen at 2 am
They're the 21st Century version of Lava Lamps. The sales arc and lifespan of novelty items like these is interesting. They saturate the market to such an extent that they are no longer a novelty, and eventually become embarrassing to the point where people hide them away in their basements; right next to the lava lamps. Not quite as cheesy as Big Mouth Billy the singing bass, but definitely a close relation.
Yeah I wondered how easily that moon could be batted from its magnetic midpoint by one of my many cats and how easily it breaks if it falls to the floor.
I would thoroughly enjoy the moon & UFO items. The only change I would make to the moon would be to add blue as a color. The UFO would definitely fit right in my scifi themed office. James, thanks for this!
@@DLowfu I'm pretty sure it had something to do with Tim's meetings with the RU-vid reps. They leave Tim alone because he's semi-neutral, but Adam was getting too passionate for their liking. The two of them probably had a heated discussion on whether they should push back and not back down, or if it was more valuable to their message to keep the show safe and moderate. That's my guess anyway.

Considering their purpose is decorative it's really more a matter of taste and what's worth it to the person who likes one, or more, of them. He demonstrated how they work, showed how they're set up, what they look like from several angles, and spoke about the quality, or lack there of, of the items. Value is very subjective when it isn't something that has a function beyond decoration.

I have a -similar- looking Moon, 3D-printed, but requires a USB charge-up. It has a touch-control that lets me pick a yellowish or blueish Moon, and it can be dimmed. It makes a nice night-light....but I am in serious envy of your floating Moon. That's way cool!

I actually like all 3. The cheap Earth would be good for a shelf or a short table behind a desk, somewhere not too close to the eye, so the defects aren't as obvious.
