When working with floor coatings it's crucial you understand the level of moisture vapor transmission (MVT) in your concrete, otherwise the integrity of your flooring installation may be compromised. High levels of moisture pressure (5lbs+) will cause most coatings to bubble, blister, and eventually delaminate. Most epoxies can withstand up to 5lbs of pressure while polyaspartics can only withstand 3lbs.
The Hyperbond epoxy basecoat we offer can withstand up to 8lbs. of pressure. If your concrete is experiencing over 8lbs. of MVT you must use a specialized epoxy primer to mitigate these high moisture levels. Specialized epoxy moisture vapor primers can withstand up to 20lbs. of pressure.
