Thanks for your videos ! Would be good to know your advance settings like threshold, sensitivity, noise cancelling, ground tracking, etc, etc they must place a part in how the gold settings work. And the final results

One of my deepest nuggets was a 10grammer, probably about the same depth as yours, screamed on HY difficult. Sadly I can only very occasionally use normal.

Damn, is that a GPZ 7000?!! I heard that's the best non-military grade detector cash for gold can buy!

Great find but here in australia our machines mostly run in difficult cause our grounds are highly mineralised inwhich we have no choice but to,

Thanks, I did turn my phone off. Now I realize I have a metal belt buckle and carabiner hanging From my left belt loop. I will try different settings to quite this thing down. Thanks for the advice. Oh and what's your experience with gold being associate with large smoky quartz crystals?

Not sure about smoky quartz specifically, but if you are already in a gold bearing area and you start finding large quartz crystals then it's probably an area that bears investigation. It doesn't mean there is gold, but if there is gold it may mean the gold is larger since things cooled slower.

Greetings, I really like your vid's. I've been using the 5000 for several years. Now I've been using the 7000 for over a year. I never have felt like I have mastered any machine. Always learning, Threshold 1? is this a 7000 thing? I run the default settings sometimes just because I feel Minelab would know better than me. I run mostly in southern Cal. with a few hot rocks, otherwise it's not really bad ground. I seem to get a lot of warbling and false signals. Now at the apex of my left swing, I get a good signal even though nothing is there. I make sure I don't have any metal near the coil as I swing. I also have the update installed. What are your thoughts? I'm about ready to sell this sucker and go back to my 5000.

I would guess you have something in your left pocket, or you hold your pick to the left, maybe something metal in your left boot. I would narrow it down bit by bit, definitely gotta be something on you though. Also, cell phones may interfere even if set to airplane mode, some GPS devices, etc even if above waist level. Make sure you have nothing on you at all and test it out, eliminate everything then add back in one at a time to figure out what it was. My settings are just my own preferences, may not work for anyone else. I find what works for me in specific areas by extensive testing before I start detecting in every new area, I suggest everyone does the same. 7000 is a great machine, just too expensive for me to keep personally if I don't use daily.

BTW, just as a reference, I had that same problem and it ended up being my cellphone in my shirt pocket. If I bring my phone close to the body of the GPZ (not even the coil, the body), it will start making noise.

So does it match the tests done by the manufactuer? The listed depths and such. 😏 I got an old cz5 silver rofl and will pick up that same signal.

Yeah the 7000 more or lives up to it's claims, other than the 40% deeper thing, which only happens on specific ground and very specific types of gold. A CZ5 definitely wouldn't have picked that nugget up. A number of reasons - that ground is a salt flat so VLF detectors lose half their depth in normal ground off the bat. Also, that nugget is a crystalline, weird form that is hard for detectors to hear, even VLF's lose depth on it. It was found in a patch that has been flogged by every type of detector for 3 decades by some of the most experienced prospectors in the US before me.

@@USMiner So I have seen your little mini rig for testing. Have you ever just dug up area's under a line of NUGGETS? Like a 1 or 2 yard test? In other word's. Are you just finding service leads, missing pay streaks below them. I mean I know you probibly have every thing you ever hit gps marked.
