In this episode I take my van on a road trip to Osooyos for my mom's 65th birthday. I've been doing a ton of work recently to my 1998 GMC Safari van, and this is the perfect excuse to put that work to the test. I literally just finished rebuilding my entire front end with control arms, tie rods, CV shafts and more. And before that I replaced all the brakes, new used heavy duty spring, house battery, and more. It's been a lot of work, so this trip is long overdue. As far as this trip is concerned, I left for Osooyos a day early, giving me time for a night to explore Keremeos. I really like Keremeos, it's mostly considered a drive through town, but there's something about it that I like. I previously did another video in Keremeos that you can watch here -
This trip starts with 300 kilometers of driving, then I stop next to the Similkamen River to check it out. After that I head into town for some supplies, then to another section of river to explore. I find some deer prints and experience Keremeos' legendary wind. Keremeos actually means "Where the 4 winds meet" to the Sylix people. I ended up spending the night riverside after a nice dinner of barbecued farmer sausage and potatoes. In the morning, I headed back to town for breakfast. I found this cool little cafe called Kool Beans, which I had a chai latte and a breakfast sandwich at. This place was awesome. Their walls were filled with local art for sale, the food and drinks were awesome, and the lady that was running it was super friendly. It's definitely worth the stop! After breakfast I explored Keremeos further. I got in a workout at the outdoor gym, saw Amos the bird and took a selfie, then it was off to Pine Park for some disc golf. I've never played disc golf before, but one of my subscribers suggested I play it, so I did! I actually think it's a great way to explore new places, so you'll probably see me play more of it moving forward. I actually met the guy that designed the course while I was playing, and he invited me to an event he was hosting the next day. Unfortunately I had to leave town to get to my mom's birthday. My dad threw a suprise block party for her, which was fun. He hired live music by Diane Ball, unfortunately I can't play it in this video because it's copyrighted... Anyways, it was all together a great trip, and a great way to test the van and to kick off vanlife season.

Thank you. I've been trying to get better. I don't think I was telling a story before, I was just letting the story happen, but it doesn't always happen unless you tell it. I think.

I will probably check it out one day. I pass through Keremeos a lot because of my parents living in Osooyos, so I will definitely be back in the area again.

With shoulders parallel to the target you will “ x step “ towards the front of the tee pad, once near the front and just as your front foot plants you should have your arm as far back as you can reach, turn your shoulders and face away from the basket now as your foot plants and your arm is as far back as you can rotate your hips and drive your elbow across your chest just below your shoulders as if you are breaking down a door. Wham. Now keep a hold of the disc gripped tight and focus on your arm following all the way through making a half circle. Let the disc pop out of your hand at a desired “ hit point “ it’s called which you find the to be different with different speed of disc and arm. When putting a fan grip is used with the index finger just under the rim like a trigger but the disc lays on the edge of your finger pressing down with the thumb onto it and the back three fingers fanned out on the bottom of the disc. Now to get the spin right for putting the best trick and all putting really is is to sit in a chair and toss the disc up in the air with good spin created to make a nice toss that goes up and right back down to you. Spin and kinda pop it up at your hit point. On the drives keep your release or hit point low in the fairway and Let It Fly!!! Great to see you out there !!!

I went out playing disc golf again yesterday but at a way harder course. I put at least 4 discs in the water, and even more in the bushes😂. I have 2 buddies that are into the idea of playing more disc golf, so I might need to actually work on my skills. I am very random with my technique, how the disc comes out of my hand feels different everytime lol. If I play more I will have to be more focused on what I'm actually doing instead of just winging it. I think my biggest problem is that I have a wild bank to the left on my throws, and the longer it hangs in the air, the further left it goes. I think it leaves my hand on an angle, and if it were flatter, it would stay straighter longer. I definitely need more practice, but judging by all the disc people I've met so far, it feels like I might get hooked. You create a monster😂

@@SARGEinc you’ll LOVE IT! That angle is nose up. To not do that imagine turning a key as you are about to reach the hit point. Nose angle control allows the disc to spin correctly. You need a nine speed driver but play in the field with putters t he owing hard and getting it to comfortably come out flat in front of your, turn the key and kinda bring it through lower down by your hips
