I've been coating my wheels with this stand for a while now. It is configurable, well built, and makes cleaning and coating your wheels much easier. You can get these with a swivel or fixed base and with multiple color rollers. You can also collapse it and store it on a wall. Configure yours using the store at the links below.

I am very thrilled at the evolution of Sam's wheel stand and version 3 is the perfect balance and the quiet swivel base is definitely a huge upgrade. Thank you for supporting small entrepreneurial businesses such as this!

Good idea on the smaller posts for the vertical rollers. I can definitely make that an option with the next batch for lower profile tires and put some kind of a cap on the top as well. The wheel walking on rollers is still a complete mystery to me. I don't understand the exact physics of either, but on some wheels it's a major issue and on some it doesn't happen at all. My best guess is that it is due to wheels not being a perfect cylinder and the tread influencing the traction as is spins. So the rollers on the end just eliminate the worry for anyone concerned about it walking off.

Maybe the walking is due to the weight being asymmetric, and therefore the wheel leans to one side. Just a guess. The 3.0 looks nice. Would love to try one one day.

@@MR-vj8dn My guess is that it’s uneven surface to surface contact. The rollers are all tight tolerances, straight and move in the same direction. The tire is NOT straight or flat in any way, plus it’s moving in the opposite direction from the rollers. That unevenness has to give and I think the result is “walking”. Better quality tires will walk less than lesser quality, as well as flatter (or more squared) tires will walk less. But it’s just a theory. 😬😬😬

the face weight makes it rotate to the front. if you take the wheel and put it on the ground and tried to roll it around. itll always want to fall on its face. you'll see tire guys put 2 tires together face to face to roll it across a garage

I will admit, finally, that I like this 3.0 design by TSG. The swivel option, the friction rollers, materials used, powder coated, all that is most excellent. I even appreciate the lower cost for something made in America. I still have no reason to buy one because I already have 2 $25 aluminum wheel stands that get regular use. But overall, I’d be more willing to sac 300 bones for this than previous versions. 👍👍

What a great tool. You could prob use it to paint wheels also...if u work in a body/collision shop. I've nvr seen a device like this of any kind in the shops i've been at. I love the BBS wheels..very nice.

I was looking for wheels stands for cleaning wheels when taking off or coating wheels. I didn't want to pay $200 for piece of metal. Just made my own from aluminum. Cost me $50. Bought conveyor belt rollers. Just works great.

What if you put one vertical roller on each corner diagonally from each other ? All you need is one to prevent the wheel from walking off.

If you wanted to stop the wheel from spinning because you were working on a specific area what would you recommend doing? Jamming a wheel chock under it?

On the spinning base model, the swivel actually has a decent amount of resistance to it. So if you rotate the spot you are working on to be centered in the frame, it really won't spin on you. In the previous design I had a locking bolt that went through both plates, but with this new one, I have never found it to spin when I didn't want it to.

Use some acorn nuts on the top of the all-thread. It will give it a smooth top and it will be more resilient than a rubber cap would be.

The BBS FI-Rs are no joke. 18lbs for each wheel and about $11K for a set. They must be going on the M2CS-

Almost pulled the trigger on one… until I couldn’t have it shipped to Australia. Even buying direct from TSG the shipping costs are more than the stand itself and there’s no company locally that makes one worth a darn.

Sorry about that. A large heavy item is a nightmare to ship right know. Costs are just through the roof on shipping.

@@SourceGarage appreciate the straight reply. And I can understand the costs associated with shipping something of its size and weight halfway across the world. Perhaps a non Express shipping option could be worth looking into, some customers don’t mind waiting longer to save some money on freight costs.

I can’t believe no one has asked this and it’s not in the description…but what is the widest tire that will fit in this stand assuming the vertical rollers are installed?

The base rollers are 16 inches long and the vertical rollers line up basically right at the end of them.
