As much as a fan I am of my steaks being cooked rare/med-rare, I have to say that piece of Wagu was definitely raw to the point where I'm surprised Max didn't work some editing magic to make it look like it was cooked more! :D
It was too rare. I like my steak medium rare but the high fat content of Wagyu beef is best when cooked to about medium so that the temperature gets high enough to begin to render all the internal fat.
I just wanted to say to Max and Chance that the tempo of this video was spot on. I know that's your editing work so just wanted to say I noticed and very well done.
Got two STCG knives almost two years ago. Still very happy with them, because they are great knives, and it supports the show. Thanks guys for all the great recipes and techniques
This makes me feel so happy and sad at the same time. Having a cooktop of that caliber is all but a dream. I'm used to cooking on my rusted out char-grill I've had for 10 years, hahaha.
I've been home sick with covid and watching your videos for 2 weeks. I'm going to try some recipes when I get my taste back. Thanks for making quarantine bearable!
That Traeger Flatrock looks amazing. I have a feeling I'd be cooking on it nearly every day! Also...chili crisp mayo? Yes please *runs to the fridge to mix some up*
I don’t know what I’m more excited to see. The fact that you know how much gas is left. That it’s easy to clean Or the fact that it has enough oomph to properly produce a crust on meat. NICE!
5:05 - No, make no apology, this is EXACTLY the sentiment and the feeling of someone who really loves what they do. We should ALL aspire to be this intense about something so elegant!
LOVE THE STEAK!! But you got my attention with the puff pastry delight! I can think of all kinds of fillings for that meal! Great job, waiting for the new cookbook!!👍👍👍
When the flavor closes your eyes, you know it's good. I asked my two young boys what do you want to be when you grew up, and one said, "SAM THE COOKING GUY," and the other a firefighter. This channel is better than public school!!!!
Being from a town named Flatrock in Canada this video title surprised me, great piece of cooking equipment from Traeger . Keep up the great videos Sam, Max and Chance!
Been a subscriber since 500k. Crazy how much the channel has grown, but not hard to see why. You guys are great. Never made a bad Sam recipe. Never not enjoyed a Maxy or Chancy edited VID. You guys all do a great job, and just feel authentic like we hanging out in the backyard or kitch. Like for real dialogue that goes on at this house with my kids! 🤣 Best cooking channel on the Interwebs. Not sure how I feel about the fact that you're turning me into a Traeger fanboy. And I never bought anything Traeger before. 😅Been on the fence about one of their smokers for a long time. Hell I may buy this contraption first! Keep it up gents, cheers! 👍❤
@@ryansegovia8515 Well, I never really put a number on it. Lol Probably closer to 70-80 that I know of and talk to about what they've made and what not over the years.
The cover at 11:55 is part of the smash burger kit. So I'm pretty sure the hole was designed to pour some in some water to steam the cheese on your burger patties. But it appears it works like a charm to carmelize onions.
I don’t know how this works, but I can taste every bite through your expression and pauses. When you take a bite, it shows in your response how much you enjoy life. Keep it going Sam and the boys.
I have watched many RU-vid cooking videos and this is my number one channel. Not just for the cooking but for the equipment you use and great video production. Keep up the excellent work. You need a new neighbour? I'll move from Canada in a heart beat!
Working with great equipment was an understatement You not only have everything what seems like anyway but the best of everything I’d love just one of those grills you have
1. Breakfast I Approve, 2. Lunch Omg, What A Sandwich! 3. Dinner I love That Traeger Steamer, Puff Pastry For Pizza Awesome, Wonderful Giveaway But Great Recipes! Wow What A Pizza, Drooling Now! Thank You, You Are Awesome, Wendy
One of the things I like about this channel is that Sam makes simple things with flavor that anyone can make. And I’ve made several of them. But I’m never cooking a $50+ wagyu for a fricken sandwich.
I live in an apartment, but this would be amazing for my son and his wife, they just bought their first home, a former Marine, he's working hard, and loves to BBQ. Thanks so much.
Ive been looking at flat tops to join the Weber Grill and Traeger Smoker. I think the best thing about the Flat Rock is probably the most random - The grease trap hole is in the front! Blackstone and other popular models, it is in the back and that creates a non efficient situation the way all my stuff is set up. Kudos on the design!
The Traeger looks great...I've got a 4 burner Camp Chef I love. It's so nice to cook everything at once. I recently grilled about 20 birria tacos for a cookout. We use an Hibachi when we want something flame cooked.
Sam, I have told So many people where I work, because of your fabulous videos. Unfortunately I can’t prove they have subscribed. I have made loads of your recipes, and was the stoopid guy who “had to sell my kidney” to afford some short rib. You are great, and I love to hear you bickering with Max and Chance.
I like to add fresh garlic, salt, and a little bit of pepper to my greek yogurt when making a savory breakfast to go on top of it. It’s even better if you drizzle all of it with chili oil. 🤤
Been looking at flat tops for a while and I'm glad I haven't pulled the trigger yet, this thing looks epic. Also, can someone please throw together a compilation of Sam's reactions after he takes a bite 😂 it would be glorious
Wow! I thing is my Dream Machine especially with all those accessories! 😮 you guys are really going to bless someone with thing. Thanks for the awesome demonstration! You all rock!
Great commercial for Traeger Sam and the boys. We will stick with the griddle we bought for half the price at Costco. Everyone's got make money right. Good for you Sammy boy.
Been cooking on a black stone griddle for many years, prob 4 times a week for my fam of 6 and it’s absolutely the best way for a big family to make dinner quickly. I’m about 2 yrs past when I should have replaced it but the new units are just too pricey! This traeger looks incredible and all the upgrades I’d love out of a new unit!!! $900 is a bit out of the realm of possibility though…
Nice!!!! We noticed the hand went from No Middle Finger Salute to the Shocker!!! You guys rule…. Love a flat top with a roof!!! We are very interested in that new Traeger Flat Rock
Love the breakfast. Wish I could stand next to you and be the taste tester. Wow new contest one of your subscribers gets to be a taste tester. Love it.
Sam, I started watching you on PBS ages ago, and this has to be one of your best! However, I also like Max’s suggestion of how to get others to subscribe: I guess I’ll have to visit my daughter at her job during lunch hour and maybe my old job (retired now) and sign everyone up.
I am very partial to a flat top grill, I only have an offset, a kettle and a gas… oh, and a travel kettle (just in case) and I ‘definitely’ want a pellet to compliment my cold smoker… just such a shame I’m not on insta-face-witter …. Sam and your team: thank you for your ongoing videos of loveliness and deliciousness, long may you cook!
Sam, as a new homeowner with a passion for cooking I think this would elevate my love for hosting as well! I hope I get chosen as I definitely would not be able to get this otherwise
Every time I watch any of your videos my family and I always enjoy watching everything look’s always amazing! That cook top looks top of the line just like what you cook! 🤘👍
I've been promoting this channel to friends and family since around 750K subscribers or 2018ish? So, that rules me out for this contest. But, it is always a blast to see your show expanding its audience, Sam! Love the content, man.
