In part 1 I fixed up this old Kiwikart race kart that was being dumped In this instalment I'll take it to the abandoned highway to see what it can do. Mrs Marty T. • Time lapse Painting of... My other channel, Angry Ram- ru-vid.comv...
Marty returns next week with the Grader, clears the road and achieves hypersonic speeds using an old washing machine and 2 VCRs. Pretty sure the man could pull it off. Love the variety of your content and your mechanical inclination. Keep the vids coming!
Always an admiring chuckle from this viewer. The variety of camera shots right to the last drone clip was awesome. The mirrored helmet. What a touch. The weeping "go cart purist" has me chuckling still. If I could give you 5 stars instead of a thumbs up I would. 👍
The Stig returns!!.... you might need to clean up some of those rocks I can see an accident waiting to happen there.. whoo hooo good fun, you have your own race track with turns, obstacles and lots and lots of Sunday fun. I love the Beam camera idea.. great stuff Marty.
Excellent stuff Marty . Your son was running down the track after you , Hold on dad , you've forgotten , its my turn now . . Your own private hidden racetrack , time to take the grader for a spin , clean this up a bit . Then , speed trails for all the family . Love the ingenuity and the humour in your vlogs , hilarious . Go cart purists part . . Priceless . . Keep up the excellent work and content . Everyone wants to see even more like this . . Your a one off . Pure gold mate . Bet you were wild as a kid . . A total free spirit . .
Oh yeah that custom panning helmet camera boom! That's almost gotta be worth a video on it's own :) Ps great shots from the drone; never seen the road quite like that before
Marty...is their anything that you can not fix? Outstanding! That little kart can really cook. The helmet cam is quite a set-up. Loved every minute of the video.
Ol' marty strikes again...every kid that got rid of their karts are probably regretting it after watching this lol! I enjoyed that ride & i wasn't even on it! Lol. Brilliant clip.
Lots of fun recycling old stuff and free is the best price :-) Looks like a job for the grader if you still have it to clean some of that rock of your private racing track. :-) Jim Bell (Australia)
Looks like our main Australia Highway today after 2 weeks of flattening the curve. I think the Go kart enthuasiast will be making there way to your do for rebuilds
"Some say he can build a Go Kart with Bailing Wire and Zip Ties....And that he can power the world with used washing machines. He's The Stig's Kiwi cousin.......Meet "THE TWIG"
While I love the smell of a racing 2 stroke in the morning, using the 4 was a stroke of genius. It is so quiet that it could be an e-kart and would enable you to use it without waking up the neighbours. Just convert one of your hydraulic monsters into a street sweeper and you have your own track.
Beautiful country you live in Marty! And take the family out for the adventure of the go kart! Fantastic job in preparing for many more adventures and riding!
Low flotation knobbies, lower gearing and add a spring or elastomer suspension to the seat. Now the roads around your house are open, too. Well, until a neighbour runs you over in a tractor you donated to him. Also the lower edge of where the visor meets the helmet has a sort of Guy Fawkes mask sort of vibe, like it was smiling the whole way. And, finally, what's next? Gotta be something that flies.
Next up, Marty T finds and resurrects an abandoned streetsweeper to use on the abandoned stretch of road, followed by finding and resurrecting an abandoned line painter, and a curb forming machine...
Brilliant stuff! Can't believe how well that drives and faster than I'd have thought, for one of those little engines aswell! What an awesome place the scenery is epic! Honestly you guys are so lucky living where you do all that open space and no one around to bother you! Just brilliant! All the space you need for your projects and DIY etc it's like my dream to live in a place like that have that sort of space and freedom! Build stuff live off Grid, no hassles! Don't happen here in England! Great video mate! 👍😎🏴
That is awesome mate what a riot that must be. Looks like a load of fun! Good on you doing it for next to nothing, who cares if its not perfect or the best you simply cant beat that kind of fun for next to nothing!
Throw away a kart; abandon a dozer; forsake a 12 ton grader; give up on an exacavator or two, alright. But walk away from such a wonderful all weather hard-surface nearly 2-lane road with safety barriers, bridges and some centre-line markings still visible?Such an amazing country Australia is!
Nice video, great shots. Suggested next project - widen chassis to make it a two seater so you can take your children for a ride. They'll remember that forever.
And to think it was going to be trashed... Love seeing the end result! Yep, the first thing that came to many of our minds, apparently, is that there will be a rock-cleaning vid on this old highway... lol Thanks for taking us along on a fun ride!
What a great place to test out your stuff👍 It’s easy if jou buy everything new, but reusing al the stuff from other “projects”…👌 awesome job Marty! Greetings from the Netherlands
What a drive, What a view and the bird chirping makes me a little envious concerning where you live. Got a spare room? I'll be there in the morning. Signed, your long lost uncle's wife's 2nd cousin Bob from the states. I bring Toys for the boy's and money to buy some land!
I loved it where your pit crew gave you the send off. Heck that abandoned highway looked pretty good except for a couple of rocks and a little undergrowth, bet it got worst farther on.
The haters can suck it. You've got a sweet boat beautiful family and you live in paradise. Its all good, you should do a farm/ property tour. MacGyver would be proud.
@@dustinh4175 I think the dick comment is a bit mean or maybe just overly defensive. Sometimes it's hard to tell context in text comments - he did use a laughing emoticon. Be the bigger man and give him the benefit of the doubt :)
When Marty ripped off down that road all I could hear in my mind was, My life fades, my vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos, ruined dreams, this wasted land. Most of all, I remember the man we called Max, the road warrior. To understand who he was we have to go back to the other time. When the world was powered by the black fuel, and the desert sprung great cities of pipe and steel. Gone now, swept away. For reasons long forgotten two mighty warrior tribes went to war and touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without fuel they were nothing. They’d built a house of straw. Suddenly their machines sputtered and stopped. Their leaders talked and talked and talked, but nothing could stem the avalanche. Their world crumbled. Cities exploded. A whirlwind of looting and a firestorm of fear. Men began to feed on men. On the roads it was a white-line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, waging war for a tank of juice. Good brave men were battered and smashed. Men like Max, who ruled the highways in the name of the law. Who became a lover, husband, father. And with the roar of an engine, he lost everything, his woman, his child, his world. He wandered out into the wasteland, and here he would learn, amid the dark wreckage, that the fire which burns in the heart of man, will endure. Hope survives. Marty has the guzzoline and the kart built from wreckage, this world is going to...... well you know. Life might just be imitating art.
Oh I can't believe your kids are all over you want to ride it. You tell the wifey that hey I got a go-kart for the kids but secretly you bought it for the inner child and you LOL. As always another great video. Thank you for all the hard work put into it for us.
Marty; "So I found this old F1 car on EBay...." (resulting test video, seen by Ecclstone results in new Kiwi Grand Prix) There was an old episode of Top Gear (series 20 ep6) where they line up all British made motor vehicles in The Mall in London. Marty should do a "Marty's Marvels" episode lining up all the vehicles he's rescued, restored and rebirthed along his little piece of "race track".
That abandoned highway has less potholes than the section of road around the billion dollar Transmission Gully debacle SH1 section near Porirua. NZ govt roading sucks and should be ashamed.
00:35 GOKART PURISTS.! I passed water OUT my nose.! LOL...! THANK you for that bit of livary... That Helmut-cam will work wonders on The John Browne.!.???
Think you should stick a plow of some kind on the front of that bad boy make it pay its way, start by plowing that race course , sheeez some big rocks on that hit one of those gong full tilt its gona hurt, you never cease to amaze me with you ingenuity and depth of your stash lol love anything you put put out
Well she looks like she had potential Marty, "Runs like a Haunted shithouse for a bit, but once she warms up I wouldnt be surprised if she hit the ton with a brisk Northerly up yer freckle." Couldnt resist lol Hope you pulled up okay with the extra padding.
In 1963 at the age of 13, I inherited a small cart with 2 McCulloch Mac 15 chainsaw engines powering it. I lived on a gravel road in Indiana(USA)that had hills, and curves. I know exactly how you felt driving yours, fast, and fun. I guess thinking back on it, I was lucky to have survived that cart without crashing it, it was just toooooo !!!! fast. Great job getting yours back to running condition Marty.
She runs along at a pretty good pace! Didn't hear much from the engine. No problems with any of the controls either. Great job and a nice place to drive it. Thanks again for your time and videos. Have yourself a great week.
What would we do without Marty to entertain and give us our thrills 🤪. I see your becoming an innovative with your camera set ups as your skills with repairs. Well done as always 👍
When you started off and the camera swung around, it was just like Mario Kart! Oooh now you just need to get a game developer to make a MarTio Kart game. Besides racing Karts and Motorbikes with obstacles like fallen rocks and trees you can have Angry Rams chasing or attacking the racers! You can have water racing with your boats with muscle collecting power-ups and abandoned boat bonuses! Tree felling, hauling, and milling "races". Road grading races. Simulated tractor rescues. It will be the hottest New Zealand themed video game ever! Well I assume it will because I am not aware of any other New Zealand themed video games. What do you think?
Love it, the skills you have gained over your life are priceless,, I wish I had never been guided by my school to go to Collage and ended up in a boring office job instead I wish I had learned a trade. So satisfying to see skills you have gained bring so much enjoyment.
I figured you might have an old 250 laying around and build a shifter kart! :-) Now, you =really= need to find an old street sweeper brush you can rebuild to make that abandoned road a bit more drivable! :-) FWIW, I'm sending these to my cousin in Scotland, who was the 16 age group all-UK Kart champion a while back. :-)
