They're individually configurable now, Bjørn. All battery sizes can be combined with all trims, mechanical, electrical or sport seats etc. There ist no "sport" version, just like before "Pure", "Pro" and "Pro S", which are the battery sizes. Everything else ist configureable (almost, e.g. the steel wheels aren't available with Pro S in Germany). And the red color "King's Red" is configurable only since the 2022 model can be configured, because they wanted the ID.4 GTX (test vehicles available a bit before) would be the first ID to be shown and seen in red. Love the colour btw, if I were to buy an ID.3, I would have waited for the King's Red from the beginning. It was known and shown from the first Days of when ID.3 was actually starting to be configureable, but only to those who spent a lot of attention.

@@AndrewSienx The rims are the "sporty" ones, if you want to put it that way. And/or the seats. There's no "sport" in cars anyway. They're just more comfortably or more stupidly configured ;-)

@@domtdoodar99 I haven’t watched the entire video, does it say anywhere the exact configuration of it? Was thinking of buying the m3 but am now a bit more interested in id3/4… I live in Sweden… besides the the infotainment, network and the speed of the Tesla I don’t see any other good thing… I believe Id3 has more comfort. Am I totally wrong here? I hate picking out a car :(

@@Groaznic thanks for your comment! I never say anything about the old model S :) And by comfort I don’t only mean the seats, even the suspension. But you are maybe right. One more thing is better with vw, it’s their service workshop dealer network… there are many more around. I really want the m3 but also have anxiety over when the car gets 4 years. In Sweden the insurance goes very high then for “sportier cars” And since the m3 has not yet been out for 4 years yet I can not estimate a price. I checked a model s that is older and the price is sometimes more than 2000euro/year (compared to my Volvo that is 600euro/year). If this is the case I’d have to rethink buying it. Either I’d have to swap cars every three years or buy another car. The thing is also… I really don’t want to buy a car for more than 55000euros brand new (reduction of climate bonus 7000euros) . If buy a used one I can maybe find a 2019/2020 m3 long range for similar prices. To be honest I love Tesla’s concept… it is not the best car built but it is the best EV.

​@@AzizIzgin I would think M3 is a lot less than a Model S in insurance, at least it is here in Denmark. I've had a Model 3 for 2 years now, and I haven't had to visit Tesla for anything, so I wouldn't worry about the service workshop network. The car still drives as good as new, and even the interior has no creaking sounds when driving, I couldn't even say that about my previous BMW :) So for me the quality has been very good. I have the performance model, and find the suspension to be well balanced between sport and comfort, the regular model should be more comfortable especially with 18" wheels. One thing I don't like about the ID.3 is the hard plastic on the inside door panels, it seems cheap of VW. The M3 has soft door panels even down on the bottom part, I think you have to go to the fat e-tron to get that in the VW group. Look at prices for options too, when I tried to configure an ID.3 with equipment similar to the M3 it was around 11.000 euro extra compared to the "starting price". Both ID.3 and M3 are good options. If you like the most powerful motor then of course there's only one choice :)

Wow . Software (infotainment system etc.) seems very smooth ! The biggest let down is gone. They start to nailed it very good .What a good car it turns into.

the ID3 is the fruit that was picked to early but now got sweeter and more ripe over time. I don't know how early software you saw, but the real old stuff ( about 1 year ago) was embarrassingly bad....i bet the internal presentations were like "try not to cringe" challenges.

Software 2.3.0 has improved a lot in terms of performance. Shows how unfinished the first software versions actually were.

It's basically a really nice car let down by its software. Hopefully this V2.3 update solves a few issues. I'd like to be able to ask it to Navigate to my destination of choice and for it not to suggest the wrong address about 500 miles away, or have no idea ar all, when I want to go about 35 miles. That would be nice.

Player1, choose your weapon: Kings red metallic paint +810€, Interior Top-Sport "Plus" +3315€, Sanya 20" wheels +1800€, Sport package with progressive steering and sport suspension +350€. Well, that's it, available for everyone in the configurator, but still a regular "Pro" ID.3, just with the regular, now updated charging curve.

You should call it 62 kWh Version and not 58 kWh, as you call the 45 kWh always 55 kWh. Very inconsistant. Confusing for people who are not in that topic.

@@tkermi VW did not release the real 45kWh yet (which is said to have 84s2p configuration in 7 modules, same cell arrangement that eGolf/eUp/Mii Electric/Citigo IV have). ID.3 Pure is using ID.4 Pure/Enyaq 50 pack (8 modules in 96s2p) capped by software at 45kWh net capacity. If some day they unleash the extra capacity, it would compete against 62/58kWh versions (9 modules in 108s2p configuration).

Nice. Notice you have the OTA update V2.3. I can certainly see a few differences on your Infotainment screen. And 120 [PLUS] kWh charging is a very nice bonus. I have the 150kW Life Pro with the same size battery as here, so it's very much the same car in terms of what I'd expect in a resultant OTA. Nice colour.

Only VW Norway calls it ID.3 Sport. It's a standard Pro with 2 sport packages, one for those seats and the (optional) other with progressive steering and adaptive chassis.

Sure do wish we could get some better seats in Model 3. They suck for driving fast. Have almost no side bolstering and the vinyl is so slick that you slide around. Would be nice if they added active side bolstering for fast driving and massaging for long trips.

Hej Björn! Tack får en bra film som vanligt. Jag får massor med kommentar ang otillräcklig kylning och/eller dålig design på termohanteringen efter att ha öppnat upp en modul för att visa cellerna mm. Jämfört med tesla är den ju helt klart sämre men pga mycket låg inre resistans så tycker jag att kylningen verkar tillräcklig. Särskilt då varje modul har en kraftig aluminium låda runt cellerna som hjälper till att leda bort värmen. Har du sett några problem med temperaturen på dessa batterier?

This ID3 seems to have a higher battery voltage (448V at 100%SOC at 1:48 in the video) than previous models. In contrast to ENYAQ 80 (12 modules in series, each 8s/3p) has around 408V at 100%SOC (4,25V/cell). Higher voltage results in higher power at the same current.

How was the battery inlet at 28Deg C ? this means the battery heater was or had recently been active ? I still don't have v 2.3, picked up my tour 5 mid October. Would be nice to be able to pre heat the battery for DC charging, started charge today at 150 Kw charger, 38% and only got 50 Kw, starting battery temp 12 deg went to 21 after I came back 10 mins later, don't know if the battery heater had turned on but not impressed with the charging speed of the largest battery id3 has to be way too conservative charging curve also for an 84 Kwh battery.

How are those "GTX" seats vs the regular ones? Those seats are combined with the top-sport interieur pack and they look very nice! Also the red metallic (Kings red metallic) looks perfect on the ID3.

it is the same, because there is no ID.3 Sport; it is a regular Pro trim with the sport package, which includes the sport seats and suspension

I think ID.3 never has double glass. Not even as an option. Only ID.4 has double glas in the front. ID.3 can optioned with an acustic windshild I think.

Pretty sure you can upgrade it on your own OTA IF you got the software version that enabled OTA updates.

only with "richtige" software already in the car. If you got 2.1 it is just OTA, but for older ones you can't do a an OTA Update because they only became enabled with 2.1 Software.

No. GTX (4WD) will come probably next year. This is just a Pro with optional sport seats and I guess adaptive suspension & progressive steering which wasn't even mentioned.

It's not at sport Vers. It's Just red. And have sporty seats. Id3 don't come in a sports vers. It's called a Pro. Nothing else. The color is fantastic. Love it.

So the 120kW charging update is in reality a 130kW charging update ;) (which I remember is what VW told a few months ago: 130kW for Pro and 170kW for Pro S). These updates make VW be on the front line again (reducing gap with Tesla Model 3 SR+/LR and Hyundai Ioniq 5/KIA EV6) in the "best bang for the buck" EVs :)

@@zocker1600 Pure is not on sale now due to the chip shortage crisis. But there is also a charging profile with the same C rating for it (it should peak at 110-115kW). Provided you get the updated charging option of course (Pure came with only 50kW fast charging as standard)

About the shape, I wish VW kept the Golf look. In fact the new 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 resemble to a Golf and I like it better.

stop comparing the Ioniq 5 to a Golf...I know it is a bit deceiving, it looks maybe similar to a golf I or II, but the Ioniq 5 is Huuuuge. It is much bigger than an ID.3, it is comparable to an ID.4.

But isn't an average of 21.6 kwh/100km pretty bad for a relatively small car? I mean it is far smaller and lighter than an Enyaq e.g. and the average of the M3 SR+ -comparable in battery size - is much lower. Shouldn't it be under 20 or what do I get wrong. Just seems pretty inefficient to me.

okay so now the larger battery charges slower than the smaller one?? That must mean that cars with the bigger one will have to get an increase...there are still the rumours of 175 kw, if that is true it would be fantastic.

The batteries could easily take that in the larger pack, but I don't know if the current handling of other components will become a problem. It's lower voltage than this medium pack, so more amps would be needed.

Ok car. The UI is just lacking imo. When u use Teslas UI u and then u use VWs UI u really appreciate the software team at Tesla. The overall styling just leaves much to be desired especially when u compare it to competitors.

@timemachine_194 well just speaking for myself. The navigation is great. I use Spotify or Bluetooth for my music which it has. You can browse the internet using a browser and also watch Netflix, RU-vid, etc. And also play low to high level games on it. You can't do most of that on the ID3.

@@pr7638its nice to have is what I'm saying. It's not like Tesla owners use it a lot. I use each when I want. It's like I don't always speed but when I do it's nice and fun. If ur car had that functionality it would be nice to have it than not right?

@@FeatureRequest i'd rather have usful fuctions, like matrix LEDs, progressive steering, capactitive steering wheel,.. than redundant functions that one never uses but boasts about on the internet. anybody with a phone has access to better software, i wouldnt use teslas system, even if i would be in a tesla while charging. any car with android auto/ apple carplay is ahead when compared to tesla imo.

@timemachine_194 yes of course. Just fascinating that big wheels = sporty car. For me it's equal to expensive tires when time to change, higher consumption, easy to scratch on curbs and just looking ridiculous. On a Ferrari yes...on av vw id3?! But we all have different taste.

Big wheels does in fact not increase consumption. And these ones are tested to be quite efficient. Probably because they are aerodynamic. Just look at BMW i3. They go for 19" narrow tires.

It sells well in Norway. Almost 10k sold so far: elbilstatistikk.no/ And I have seen many ID3 in other European countries as well.

So this is just a lie, scumbag VW saying sport for something it is is not. THis car, to be sport, needs dedicated sport suspension and a power increase. For it's size and weights, something like 200kW could be a goos start. And then show us the moose test where the ID3 sport handles like a porsche 917/911

There's no such thing as ID.3 sport. Only VW Norway is calling it that. This is just Pro with optional sport seats and probably has also a sport steering & adaptive suspension pack but Bjorn didn't notice that one.
