The difficulty in this video fluctuates a lot. It seems that Tetsu talks faster and uses more difficult words when he gets into the flow of explaining things. I like that to be honest. Perfect for casual immersion during commute

Lol. Ok. So I just watched the Aiko San video, and I was having a mental breakdown in the parts I couldn't understand. I've been studying for a year (not consistently), and I have 0 resources (third world country, amazing). Grammatically I'm supposed to be around N3, however, since I can't really afford talking to natives or paid courses, I was kind of depressed and scared to start my listening practice. You see, I have a tremendous anxiety problem and I get overwhelmed with the quantity of material online, and all of those who offer just a sneak peek but you have to pay to get to advanced levels. I finally decided that I should start, and hell it has been hard. BUT Even I can't fully understand and I miss like 50% of the meanings, I feel motivated and my fear of not understanding is vanishing. In this video, I'm 12minutes in and I can tell is harder than with Aiko San but I feel better. I'll watch all of your videos and see where I go. It saddens me you're not making them anymore; I guess it wasn't sustainable. However, thank you for leaving them on the platform. You have no idea how much this helps this enthusiast girl from Venezuela to have motivation even though I have nearly 0 resources and nearly 1129321783 anxiety levels. Maybe you don't read this, but If you do, thank you sincerely, Benjiro Sensei.

@@Kevin__levrone ohhh bien!!! I though I was something around N4-N3 but I made a HUGE mistake: I didn't train my listening, at all. So I can understand some advanced grammar but It's useless because I can't actually build good sentences LOL
@Kevin__levrone
@Kevin__levrone 4 года назад

Hey, this is awesome! Totally useful. I have a question on "narenakatta", isn't that one from "nareru" as in "get used to"? So maybe he meant "I didn't get used to be a salary man" with "narenakatta"? :/
@BenjiroJapanese
@BenjiroJapanese 5 лет назад
Hmm, I checked with some natives. They all said it would have been 成れなかった (was unable to become). If it was "didn't get used to" it would've been phrased differently, perhaps like 会社の仕事に慣れなかった.

I like that taxi drivers don't talk to people. Here in Germany the taxi driver knows your whole life after a 10 minute ride because he asks so many questions. Really annoying.

What's he expressing when he ends a sentence と?Is it the quotative と to distance himself from what he said and show humility?
@learnjapaneseeasily
@learnjapaneseeasily 4 года назад
Can you provide a particular time that you're referring to? I didn't notice him every ending a sentence with と. He often pauses after saying particles (and then finishes the sentence) in order to speak more slowly. Maybe that's what you were noticing?
