Ok, so this is the NYPD and we all know that department is weird. So Peralta is Detective 1st class which means he is right before becoming Sergeant so he basically is one of the most “high ranking” detectives. Also, the wiener warriors have been cops since 1985 so they’re actually some of the most senior. Also Peralta’s wife is a sergeant of the patrol unit but idk if they’re allowed to work in the same station irl.
Yeah, the rank they gave everyone seems random and the badge numbers really threw me off. I legitimately laughed when I read "wiener warriors" in this comment 🤣
This didn’t sit well with me the first time I saw it, the lowest Holt could have been demoted to with my agency is Lieutenant… and also Santiago should have her own squad of patrol officers and no longer be a main on the show
I had to learn the hard way to stay away from brass at crime scenes. I got handed a pad of paper and told to write down everyone coming into the scene. 🤢 Not a fun job.
Talking about "Badge Numbers", for us (We're in the UK) our numbers dictate what cohort (class) you were in. I.e. 21000 would be 2019. 22000 would be 2020, etc. 😂 I'm loving these videos and how different Policing is in America. Stay safe, both! 😎
@Tom21095 Please don't judge American policing by what you see on youtube. (For example, while America is admittedly a more violent country than most 1st world nations, I doubt every police partnership experiences 51 minutes of shootouts every week, interrupted by commercials.).
@@OnlyCops i ask because you said at couple of time that you look on the badge and the officer with the lowest number is the senior.. but what if a rookie gets a number from a previous officer..
Ngl im honestly surprised u guys never picked up on law and order SVU i feel like its pretty popular, but idk maybe its alil different cuz their a specific unit and do things kinda differently?? Im curious
I don't know if I would trust the Secret Service with handling an assasination attempt... Too soon? xD Also if there were detectives on scene, who are probably trained in interrogation etc., would really patrol take statements and everything rolls on? Feels more like it would be uniform takes statement then goes "Heyyo detective or scene commander, here is info, now you go talk to them!" Isn't NYPD one of those weird ones where they have Detectives and Detectives as two different things? Like the rank and the "function" is separate and if you are ranked Detective you can still be on patrol?
What's funny is we filmed this week's ago 🤣 and yes, they would likely find the witness and hand them over to a detective. I'm not sure about the detective rank, but I do know it's a type of promotion in NYPD
One of my favorite shows but also one of the most unrealistic. I remember watching the season premiere of the latest season where they had raining frogs or something like that and thinking to myself “what in the actual fuck did I just watch?”
Sony blocked it for copyright cuz they’re dicks, but you can still see it on the Patreon page: www.patreon.com/onlycops Shout out to NBC and ABC for being super cool with us doing Brooklyn 99 and The Rookie.
But those Wiener Warriors getting the tag/role might think that you guys crowned them as Wiener dogs. ... Or I'm just offering them free excuses. Bill seem to be more annoyed and bored of this one than the Rookie episodes, but I'm not going to jump conclusions, because it might also be an "bad" or "off" type of day for him. There needs to be interviews and investigation first! For someone else to do... I shall rather collect cones than talk to IRL people. There might be nice spider on them that I can be friends with.
You guys need to react to uk police as over here they are so bad and don’t even carry tasers ( you must especially look at Scotland, Manchester and metropolitan police) oh and Leeds
Imagine shit talking a Police Pupper. they are a dedicated bunch. Catching bad guys and what not. Also that pupper isn't even in her chain of command. Shes Patrol, Canine officer is of course, in cannine.
