Went out with some riding buddies to explore the famous 3 Sisters motorcycle ride. The ride encompasses rt 335, 336, and 337...almost 300 miles. I took the Super Tenere...they rode FJRs. Great ride, food, and company
Have ridden through TN, NC, CO and all over Tx. That area of the Hill Country is absolutely one of my favorite rides. There are a lot more roads in The Hill Country that are fun.
Thanks for the ride along. I start off from Fort Worth heading south on 377 through some nice country. Being retired I get to go anytime the weather is right and that is coming up real soon. Just waiting a little longer for the spring flowers to start popping out.
Great video. Those roads are such a blast :) Next time you're down there, if you haven't already done it, when you get to Medina instead of going left to Vanderpool continue on 16 back up to Kerrville. It's a fun road and there's two sections where the road literally corkscrews straight up then straight down. It's like a roller-coaster...lol
Some of my fellow riders from Memphis road out there last year. Unfortunately one of the ladies who were riding with them had a severe crash. Almost ended up "in a tree"...split her bike in half and took a helicoptor ride out of there. Still walking with a limp/cane. You have to ride YOUR own pace. I am with you bro...I LOVE the curves...Florida has no appeal to me at ALL..Nothing but straight aways...not my thang! Enjoyed the vid!
MemphisMike geeze man that's too bad. it seems that quite a few riders around here crash due to riding outside their comfort level. thanks for watching bro
yeah sadly it is a common mistake among many riders...I guess we all at times have the "Need for Speed" and want to get our "Tony Rossi" on...LoL.. Take care bro and Merry Christmas
Nice video on your Three Sisters Ride. Hoping to make it out there soon from West Texas. If you have not ventured out West to the Fort Davis/Big Bend Area you can really find some great roads to keep the throttle open in some great curves and perhaps less traffic.
I'm the same...don't like riding in heavy wind. lol, when you said you were heading to Medina, made me think of "funky cold Medina" Love the roads like 337 where it is not as traveled...the less traffic, the better. Did you guys connect on some comms? Awesome views on this trip! It did look like Bonanza country! Glad the guys in your group who are willing to take it easy on curvy roads like that. Looked like a great place to stop for grub!
Very nice video ShadowDPS. The commentary was informative. What kind of riding gear did you wear when it was raining? I mentioned in another post, the Tenere is one sweet bike looking forward to picking one up next spring.
Rob C thanks for the comment. I was wearing the Revit Sands 2 jacket with tourmasters caliber over pants. kept me warm and dry. the super tenere is a solid bike. you will enjoy it
First of all, thank you for your wonderful explorations and videos! I find them a delightful mix of entertainment and information! I do have a question. I am looking to purchase a new ADV bike. The S10 is on top of my list, along with the Africa Twin. Both are excellent options, but the S10 appeals a bit more to me because of the range and shaft drive. My only concern is that of engine noise. I have read many comments regarding the loud engine. What is your experience with engine noise on your S10? Again, well done, my friend. Ride safe!
Thank you for the comment. I really appreciate it. The S10's sound reminds me of a tractor. its not bad though. I agree with you, to me the S10 would have an edge over the Africa Twin because of the range and shaft drive. Its nice not having to worry about chain maintenance on long trips. Be safe and thanks for watching!
ShadowDPS Motovlogs gravel at one of the turns. male and female rider. male bruised up a bit. female I believe needed to have surgery on foot. He put a warning on one of the FB pages
