Two things Mike Leach will always be remembered for: 1. The Air Raid Offense 2. His legendary wedding advice

As a Buckeye fan very few coaches have I cheered for that wasn't coaching OSU but he was one of them. I think he did so much more with a lot less then a lot of guys. I always wonder how great some of he's teams could have been if he had coached at schools like Alabama or OSU

Leach was the only coach I was a "fan" of. I loved his interviews - his originality - and his rough edges. I always kept track of what he was doing.

The Air Raid Offense was the quantum leap type of revolutionary offense for the 21st century the way the West Coast Offense was for the 1980s and 1990s. Mike Leach was a genius in terms of offensive strategy.

As a football coach, I can tell you nothing means more to us than to be loved and remembered by the kids we coached when they're grown up. Rest in peace, ya "Mad Pirate". At least we know football players in Heaven just got a new coach. ✌

There sho;uld be a football highlight video reel called "Awesome Honorary Penalties". This isn't the only one I've seen. NFL and NCAA both do awesome symbolic penalties declined by the opposing team as an opening game gesture here and there. I've never seen a highlight reel that pasted them all together but I'd watch that in a heartbeat!

I missed the first part of the game so this video is the first I saw of this. Awesome. I saw the impact he had on people at the Alamo bowl the year he was fired from tech. I’ve seen people mad about a management decision but this was crazy. I saw as many people with pirate attire as I did just plain Tech stuff. There was a petition with no telling how many signatures. Someone even plane fly a banner over San Antonio that said something like save the pirate

His philosophy is heavily influenced in the BIG 12. That conference is known for scoring points and shootouts. His early days at Oklahoma and TTU, is still in full force. To this day, Stoops still likes to run his offense. Between him and Saban, they have the most disciples of their schemes, across high school to NFL. Being a SEC fan, Leach deserved to been in the Hall of Fame at his TTU days alone.
