Love, love, love watching and learning from you. I never have watercolored before, until I saw you on U-tube. It has been so much fun. Thank for sharing your time, experience, and talent. Can’t wait to try the sun flower.. Julie
Hi Julie ❤️🤗 I am feeling the love and gratitude and it is a much welcomed gift! Thank you for your kind words and thank you for choosing to be here with me! It really means a lot to me ☺️
Yay!! Welcome aboard! I'm so happy you're here! Thank you for your kindness and for making the time to watch and connect. It really means a lot to me ❤️☺️
Great question! Gesso is a medium used to prepare different surfaces for painting that usually has a much thinner consistency than WC ground. I also use gesso mixed with water to create different effects in a variety of contexts. WC ground is a thicker medium and it is generally used to prepare surfaces to accept watercolor as it is more porous than gesso. Since WC ground is relatively thick, I like to use it to create textured details for my paintings. Some people in our community have mentioned that they have used modeling paste in a similar way as the ground. I hope this helps! ☺️
How lovely that sunflowers always remind you of your sister and bring happy memories to mind when you see them. I like the way they turn towards the sun as if full of optimism and joy. You have certainly captured that essence in your painting, the textures bring it to life. I am sure your sister will love it even if she is surrounded by sunflower gifts! 🌻😁🌻 In my garden I grow fuschias….which were my mother’s favourite flower. Perhaps I will try this idea to bring the garden inside! You are a ray of sunshine each week..☀️thank you! I wish you a week of golden moments 💛💙💫 B xx
Hi Bernice ❤️🤗 This the season for gardening, hurrah hurrah!!!! Fuchsias are so beautiful as well! 💕 It's so nice that nature can be another way for us to connect with our loved ones. At this time of the year, I could literally spend every minute of the day outside 🥰 It's so much fun that we share a love for gardening too! Thank you for being here with me and happy creating sweet friend 🤗💕🎨
Hi Gabrielle, I’m from Durham, New Hampshire, not far from you! I just want to say how much I appreciate and look forward to your videos! You have such a calmness and sincerity about you that is very inspiring! I think I watch more than I actually paint, but that’s ok. 😅. I wish you a happy spring! With gratitude, Annie.
Hello neighbor! ❤️🤗 Thank you so much for watching my videos every week! I'm so glad you're enjoying them and whether or not you paint, I am happy to see watching brings some calm and enjoyment to you ☺️ I really appreciate you being here with me Annie! I wish you a happy spring too 🌼
Absolutely beautiful 🤩 😍 It was really helpful to hear your thought process and reassurance for (not to panic) etc I’m very new to trying water colour and very judgemental Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼🥰
Thank you so much for your kindness and candor! 💕🤗 I get it! It is so hard not to be critical of our work when we are first starting and at the same time, it can really get in the way of us continuing to create so we can keep strengthening our skills. I need to remind myself of this almost every single time I paint 😉 And the more we just let go and move forward with compassion and curiosity, the easier it gets for us to have fun and learn in the process. Every time you paint, ask yourself what did I learn today? For me, this helps me treat every painting session as a victory no matter the outcome. And, it can't hurt to remind yourself that being new at something is hard! So I applaud you for doing the hard thing and not giving up 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️ Thank you so much for sharing a part of your journey with me! I'm so happy you are here with me! Let's see what else we can learn together ☺️
Wonderful piece of art. I love your idea of creating texture in the flower. My sister's birthday is coming up and she LOVES daisies, so I may have to attempt your approach on a daisy. Hope you have a wonderful week, and again thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much 😊 Oooooooh! Yes to trying this with daisies 💕 They are my favorite flowers!! I'm sure your sister will just love it! I hope she has the happiest of birthdays and cheers to her having a sister as sweet as you 🤗
This piece turned out beautifully. I have a question. When the watercolor ground dries completely çould it just crack and fall off of the paper? Hope you have a great rest of your week.😊
Hi Machelle ❤️🤗 Thank you for your kindness and for your question! And it's a good one! I have been using watercolor ground in this way for over a year and so far, I have had no issue with it drying to the point of cracking and falling off my paper. I will however say that it is definitely more fragile than just painting over the paper and so it's important to take special care with your artwork. I intend to apply a fixative over mine and I will probably frame it in a deeper frame under glass. I have many years of experience working with acrylic mediums similar to this over canvas and I have also never had any issues. I hope this helps! Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week too ☺️💕 Yay for the upcoming weekend!! 😁
Your art is absolutely stunning and so are you dear one. In North Dakota we have fields that go on as d far as the eye can see. Your 🌻 looks real👏👏👏👏👏🌻🌻🌻🌻Thank you for sharing your beauty🥰
Oh wow! That must be absolutely dreamy, Nancy!! 💕🌻✨ I'd love to see that some day! Thank you so much for your kind words sweet friend. I hope you have a wonderful week 🤗❤️
I just realized a few moments ago that I had forgotten to add the art stones to the supplies list in my video description (they are there now ☺️). They come in three different sizes and I am using what I consider to be the medium size ones. I bet the smaller ones would have worked beautifully too.
L’amour sororal a guidé ta main et ton cœur pour aboutir à ce si beau tournesol 🤩. Tu mérites les commentaires que tu reçois car ta gentillesse et ta générosité dans le partage ne sont qu’un juste retour de ce que tu donnes.
Yes, much kudos to my salt!! And I do mean that because it very well may be that it's all about the salt I'm using as I know not all salts are created equal. 😉 Thank you for making the time to watch and connect ❤️
Absolutely beautiful Gabrielle ! Oddly, this was my brother’s favorite flower! I lost him 4 years ago…..this episode brought such joy in thinking of him …. Thanks for all you do 😊
I'm so sorry for your loss 😔 and at the same time, I am so happy watching me paint this sunflower showered you with joyful thoughts of your brother. ❤️ Sunflowers are a joyful flower to me and it seems your brother might have felt the same way about them too. I hope you see many sunflowers in bloom this summer and every time you do, may you be reminded of more happy memories with your brother. Thank you for making the time to share this with me 💕 and thank you for your kindness. 🤗
Hi Monica ☺️ I'm sorry you're having issues with the audio... May I ask if you mean the music or my voice over? This is not something I have heard from other people since I started on YT over three years ago... 🤔 Thank you for making the time to contact me ❤️
You're so welcome Marie Louise ❤️🤗 I'm so glad you are feeling inspired! And, I really appreciate the kindness you send my way each and every time you comment 💕
