I have found another way to create texture while working with watercolors! I guess it's no secret by now just how much I love texture because I always seem to be looking for new ways to create it. I really enjoyed my process this week and I just can't wait til I'm done unpacking my studio so I can play more with this idea. I hope you enjoy watching my process! Let me know what you think in the comments. :)

Here’s a list of the materials I used for this painting: (*** I now have the ability to monetize my site. This means I can include links to the products I use and when you make a purchase using some of these links I will get a small commission. ( This applies only to the Amazon links I have included as I am an Amazon Associate. ) You won't pay extra for doing this and you will help me earn a little bit of money along the way, so I can continue doing this work. Please note that I will only ever add links to products that I actually like and use. Thanks in advance!***)
* Watercolor paper (Canson, cold pressed - amzn.to/46BlhpS)
- For this painting I used three different cuts of paper.
* Paper cutter - amzn.to/46wi4YH
* 0.5 inch Artist tape - amzn.to/3tHr3HO
* Plexi glass or a solid surface to tape paper to - amzn.to/3RYHFVN (I cut my plexiglass from an old window we had in our shed.)
* Water
* Paper towel
* Watercolor Ground - amzn.to/3tFSB0w
* Palette knife - amzn.to/46zHjJJ (My palette knives are packed so I used a plastic knife and it worked fine though I do prefer working with my palette knives when they are available.)
* Plastic fork or any other tool to create texture.
* Fine grain table salt
* Matte Heavy Gel Medium (This is what I used - amzn.to/46AdVCU, but I recommend using this instead - amzn.to/46zDnIL
* Stencil - This one is similar to the one I used - amzn.to/3S0POJe
* Daniel Smith watercolors in Quinacridone Burnt Orange, Quinacridone Deep Gold, Nickel Azo Yellow, Neutral Tint, Phtalo Turquoise and Mayan Blue Genuine - amzn.to/46PKKeY
* Kremer Pigmente watercolor in Star Gold and Tropical Sunrise Magic Green - shop.kremerpigments.com
* In case you can't buy Kremer Pigments where you are, CSY Art Gallery offers a few little set with some good substitutes for Star Gold - amzn.to/3PYaUWc (I absolutely love this little set and their 24k Merck gold makes me swoon just as much as Star Gold.)
* Round brush in size 6 - amzn.to/3tFUvyc (This is the travel kit I own and the brush I used for this process came from this set.)
* Mop brush - amzn.to/45BiCuU (The big round brush from this set is the one I use. I just can't find it individually online. I believe I bought mine at Michaels.)
* Micro mini brush - amzn.to/3tEdjh9
* Black fountain pen by Pilot - amzn.to/49aMfGL
* Pilot Namiki black ink - amzn.to/3QktKbj
* Pentel Slicci extra fine tip pen - amzn.to/3tH9Vls
