There is actually a 2fort improved, I forget what it's called, but it makes some really nice changes. The hallways are widened, sewers are widened and have raised portions, and spawn camping is made more difficult.

The only time it would be added is when Tf3 is released so probably never. But luckily there are community servers that run the map

GFLclan servers have a 2fort edit called 2fort - improved. It's really nice. It's a lot bigger and adds tons of rooms and tunnels to navigate

IIRC, 2006's 2fort had their sewers laid out like in the original team fortress 2fort, where instad of a hallway that leads up to a stair case that makes it hard to see if anyone was using it, both sides had the water go up to your body so you swim a lot. The staircase was originally a spiral staircase that made it really fucking easy to spot any enemies entering your base, therefore easy kills. IDK if the 2006 prototype build was ever leaked giving us a proper glimpse into 2fort, but the guys behind Pre Fortress 2 did make 2fort look exactly like 2006 2fort, even changing the sewers to what I mentioned, so maybe you can give that a try. .... its the only map anyone plays in pre-fortress 2 anyway

afaik, the one from pre-fortress 2 was ported over to live TF2 as we see here, but it wasn't exactly like the 2006 2fort we see in Trailer 2, the one who ported it to live TF2 had to make further changes to make it look more like the trailer. The only difference i noticed is that there is no beta-looking signs in the entrance of each of the sewers. Also, the map DOES have a spiral staircase, it looks the same as in PF2. I'm also surprised Trash didn't mention this map had custom player models, the same ones from Pre-Fortress 2 now. Bodygroups bugs aside i think they look awesome for the map. EDIT: Apparently its player models aren't showing, vscript seems to be broken or something, no wonder it wasn't mentioned in this video and comments.

I don't think you realized that the 2006 2fort has its own custom player models, the same ones we see in the sourcemod Pre-Fortress 2. As for the sewers, there is old footage of 2fort's sewers and the water level was way higher, so i don't think it was a creative liberty, rather further replication.

Have you tried 2fort Improved? GFL Clan is running a pretty active public server for it. I feel it's kinda like 2fort egypt with the wider bridge and the engineer friendly intel room, but it also has more flank routes, more ways to escape with the intel, and is a lot more friendly to non-jumping classes. I like it more than vanilla. Doesn't have a strip club, unfortunately.
