I was lucky enough to play plr_upward in TF2classic on a custom weapons server. Haven't played for too long, but otherwise I'd say it was a weird experience but in a good way, so I'd reckon it's a perfect map to match TF2's already wacky setting. Also, love the videos!
What i love about abandoned upward. That it's a jungle theme map that is not following the jungle inferno look (it's older map) also raising the water up is neat.
upward is actualy a bad map, its just overhyped by "mainstream" you could say brainwhasing even, the tunnel and the final point are the worst offenders and first sniper sightline...ugh
I wouldn't really say it's a bad map, but you're right about the final point, it's ass. And when there is even a decent sniper at enemy team, it feels like you can't make any progress.
I played on Abandoned Upward in a server where BLU team's models were replaced with MvM robots, and we had a tank and could become giant robots (I always opted out of being the giant because being the giant was ass). I "discovered" a really good tech in which I waited for the tank to be destroyed, grabbed the bomb, and downed a can of Bonk! (I was Scout btw), and ran the rest of the way to the end to win.
Wait, but isn’t the Ratchet and Clank character on screen for like 95% of the video basically your fursona? It’s a visual representation of you. So it’s ironic to make fun of the Badwater-slide dude for putting his fursona so front-and-center.

4:14 ok hear me out Blu company is builders company who makes their facilities using expensive and time consuming building materials and blue is a color that is associated with cold and passive color fit for a defenders Red is demolitioning company that specialized in explosive and uses cheaper and easily replaceable wood in their facilities and red is a color associated with aggression and instability fit for attackers So why is blu are the ones that has to push the cart to destroy the red base that could easily be repaired in less that a day it never made sense to me
Mainly with these map videos, I only include custom made ones that aren't in the official map pool, as to make it more interesting. Also true, it's a good halloween map, maybe badly optimized but a fun map nonetheless
@@trash-bot8k8000 oh, was that one officially added to the map pool? These days i can't even tell what's been added anymore from the community maps, it feels like so many maps are in the official game now
@@ojhat Yeah, if I understood right, it's called Hassle Castle in the official map pool and it's been in the game since 2020. I can't really blame you, there is just too many maps to remember all of them at this point.
