TF2: easy and simple warmup routine

A ton of you have been asking me how I practice or warmup and today I will show you how easy it can be with this short tutorial. This is exactly what I have been doing to get to where I am today with results that I am happy with. It is extremely simple but I can say from firsthand experience that it will do wonders over time as long as you commit to regularly practicing and most importantly with the PROPER mindset. You can do this every day, once a week, or whenever you feel like it but as long as you do what is right for you and make sure you stick to it.
Simply, aim at random teammate or targets in warmup or downtime.
Play a few games starting out aiming very slow, then aiming close to your normal speed, and lastly go very very fast. (You will find over time your default speed for all these steps will get faster and more accurate)
Think and play analytically. Make sure to call yourself out for mistakes to make better decisions in the future. (Even if a play worked and you got lucky pulling it off, acknowledge what the smarter play could have been) And if you want to devote the extra time to it, record and review your games judging yourself and the decisions you made from the third perspective.
0:00 Intro
0:41 The world is your aimtrainer
1:37 Aim slow and time your shots
3:16 Aim medium speed
4:00 Play analytically
6:52 Aim super speedy
10:50 Outro
Also not sure why in my script I decided to not have the "3 speeds of aim" steps together and the "play analytically" phase before them but whatever we roll with it here on the Fatmagic Channel lmao.

@JeffarryLounder

I used to play when I just woke up and sometimes I'd play better for whatever reason. Probably because I play best when I'm slightly detached from the game so I don't feel tense when I'm being shot at. I also play way better without sound sometimes. The sound just adds an extra layer to the game you have to keep tabs on and it can make you feel tense when you hear explosions and what not. Pure visuals just make it easy to focus on your targets.

This is actually super helpful and I don't even play sniper. I often take long breaks from TF2 and will then return, play a game and leave because of frustrations on me not doing well. When in reality I need to take it slow, I'll hop on after a while and try my absolute hardest because it's been a while when I should just relax and slowly try harder and harder

This video finally has me convinced, after years of watching fatmagic play and almost a decade of watching competitive TF2, I can finally say with confidence that fatmagic is the greatest sniper player of all time. He puts in more work to his run-of-the-mill gameplay than most comp players do for comp, and he's been doing it so long that it would take a long grind to even challenge him as sniper. If you're reading this, enjoy the GOAT status, canada man
@lipschitzlyapunov
@lipschitzlyapunov 4 месяца назад
This sounds like someone who has never touched comp TF2 before. There's a major difference between playing against casual players and competitive players LMFAO.
@lipschitzlyapunov
@lipschitzlyapunov 4 месяца назад
Also, I don't understand TF2 players calling someone the best X by playing casual. S1mple isn't the best CSGO player because he goes 50-1 on casual games. He's the best because he goes 2-1 against the top players in the game and wins tournaments. 🤦
@ultimatewarrior733
@ultimatewarrior733 4 месяца назад
@@lipschitzlyapunov Sure, but I watch comp quite a bit. You sound a bit angry, I'll ask that you take your medicine. I'm just saying comp players don't employ the same regimen and don't train as hard. Have you ever watched comp sniper gameplay before?

In his streams you see he's not as consistent as Fatmagic is. Sure, he has highlight reel clips up the ass, but he's not consistently good.

I hate spy-gaming not for it's sophistication but for it's silliness: trying to pretend to be someone who you are not - it's not my nature. (Although I do indeed like how sophisticated the class is.) Recently being seriously burned out and thinking about launching the game in a manner like “eh, no fun in it anymore”, after watching this and seeing how simple the practice can be, I think I am able to get back to healthy relationships with video-games. Just plain practice and having fun, with no hard feelings. A very refreshing feeling of suddenly now feeling heavy anymore.

Very similar to how musicians warmup or learn a difficult section of a piece. Start slow, move the speed up until you can play at tempo, and even try to go faster than the actual performance speed to make it easier to maintain precision and allow yourself some brain space to focus on the finer details once things slow back down.

I usually play sniper for several hours and when you finally went onto your maximum aim speed, maintaining that with the limited amount of energy you have makes it less accurate. This is what i call burnout and resting is definitely required if you want to be consistent in every game.

Kinda funny that some people not having 10h+ on sniper compare their skill to your's and call you cheater when you have years of mastering the art of professionally headshotting people.
