This gamemode is so oddly balanced Scout is given every single tweak possible in order to make him viable, and Zombie Demo is not given anything in order to be viable
@@M4x_P0w3r caber can clear entire groups yes, but most maps have corridors, but when the maps open up, you can always Trimp, which you need map knowledge to get it to work, and other classes are simple to play as the only job you have to do is to run to the humans there's not much need to balance zombies, I suggest to actually play the game mode to see the game balance, team work is needed, but the high rank players will likely command the team.
These maps were designed for CSGO/CSS zombie escape so balance is going to be a bit weird when freshly ported over to TF2. The servers/community need more time to tweak it right.
Demoknights probably played VSH before and got used to melee a melee-locked enemy, too bad said melee-locked enemy have friends and tens of thousands of hp.
The only issue with Demoknight is that, with TF2 Melee Hitreg (as LazyPurple mentioned) always gives an absurd advantage to the aggressor in range. For example, if one Demoknight charged or ran towards another Demoknight and they began to backpeddle, it’s very likely that the Demo which ran in to attack will be able to extendo-reach the retreating Demo from much further distances If Melee didn’t have these issues, Demoknight would still be bad since you’re trying to melee the melee enemies, but it would be a slightly better situation.
Zombie soldier used to be op when the whip was still enabled. Demo was an absolute terror when they could trimp on slopes and respawn with full charge.
I can imagine good Demoknight mains doing a nasty trimp then either assassinating someone, or using the Caber if it's enabled to constantly harass the alive.
And then boom, nerfed to death/barely playable harder than sandman's nerf and left it like that for years. I think they should allow trimping & whipping but give like -90% HP like zombie spy's cloak, so zombie demoknights can trimp but can be countered by airshot (or players looking up and click M1) soldiers give himself and his teammate 15% more speed at cost of thousands of health each boost.
One thing that people forget about sentries is that zombies can surf with them if they're not placed properly. If you're a lone zombie, pass the sentry, then jump+crouch as the sentry boosts you _towards the humans._ It doesn't work with a crowd of zombies and your teammates usually kill sentries whenever they see one, but it catches people out if they're focusing on retreating.
I'm impressed with the infallible and impeccable apexes of alliteration you achieve. The continuation of your coloquial capability could carry your content alone.
@Rellyali1987 The alliteration is not well done. It feels unnatural. Alliteration is done well when the phrase is still worded naturally enough you might not even notice its there.
Medic on the zombie escape server I play is usually used to counter non-instant kill stage hazards. Some maps are more dangerous than the actual zombies.
While the heavy is frozen in place after activating his enzyme, he takes increased melee damage - allowing for humans to sometimes one-shot him if he's taken enough damage prior.
No one in their right mind aside from a Spy whose already behind them would take that risk though, kinda like a pointless thing to note like how the Widowmaker does 10% more damage when shooting at someone your sentry is targeting
I've seen plenty of players, including myself, kill frozen heavies with their melee and retreat successfully. Notably on Krusty Krab, where the entire map is just holding a single corridor while SpongeBob blows up bridges and barriers. Heavies leave themselves exposed as soon as they're frozen, and humans (Who know that this is a thing) oftentimes take advantage of that to kill them. I understand where you're coming from though, it can be pretty risky on certain maps.
@@SpaceGuyOnline it can actually be very helpful to meele a enzyming heavy for one simple reason, as a heavy, you can break a choke point, like the endless doors in ZE_SCP by enzyming in and allowing your fellow zombies to bust through, covering the zombies behind you. the downside of this however is that it temporarily separates you from your team, allowing a survivor to meele you before the others can break through.
@@SpaceGuyOnline when a heavy enzymes, they separate from the horde rather significantly since the bullets, flames, and explosives are holding the rest of the zombs back. pretty much every human class except a revved up heavy can safely melee kill an enzymed heavy
Yeah, used to play it a lot before Santassination Extreme was beaten a few months back (God the grind to reach that point was painful) and love that more people are starting to pay attention to the mode now imo it's more fun most times than CS:S/CSGO ZE because there's more options and variety available to you at all times rather than just using the Bizon/M4/AK all the time and having to bhop effectively if you wanna be useful as a zombie
the pvz ost sprinkled during the whole video just made my day a whole lot better. nothing like a little nostalgia to get me doing my homework a little quicker.
I saw that flashing demon light there in the intro. This seems like it xould be such a cool game mode and a fun time, but I have had nothing but bad experiences with it. Maybe I'm just unlucky? Mainly because of the crappy infuriating maps and the fact that i'll just die randomly for no reason. I would add getting stripped to melee basically making you a free kill, but i think thats only on blackwonder from what i understand thankfully.
Meh I had good experiences with it. It is infuriating to play as a zombie sometimes though, you feel like you cant do anything but die. Btw I remember my favorite map being one that's basically a mansion with some breakable windows and doors I think and a lot of parkour, anyone know the name? Cant remember it
The only issue I have is where you overemphasis how useless damage is when on maps with bosses its essential since if you fail the DPS check then thats game over.
the rough animation ( which is getting a lot better with each video and is good right now ) actually works really well for them zombie mercs! Great video, mate
Medic is much more of a crutch class to keep bad players from getting themselves one clapped. The crit boost doesn’t provide much of a knockback upgrade from the buff banner and Uber is really situational and is entirely useless on boss fights.
Quite true. Medics are most useful when you need just a little extra breathing room to save a team. Not so much for a team that's good enough to handle all of the zombies.
Heavies mid-enzyme actually can't swing their melee after the full freeze starts, and they also get guaranteed insta-killed by melee weapons. It could be better. Still S tier.
Idea: for demo's enzyme ability, he can suck up anything within a range, and after 3 seconds, he will blast them all back, like an airblast. This works like airblast in relation to projectiles and allies, reflecting all projectiles and extinguishing teammates, and knocking back sentries too.
@@cristinagomez3283 if demo did get an enzyme they'd probably have to disable the charge for balance reasons. At the moment demo does need a buff though.
about Survivor Scout, you forgot to mention his melees because unlike most of the other classes he has two melees that could still be of use in Zombie Escape: the Sandman and Wrap Assassin, the Sandman has a stunning alt-fire while the Wrap Assassin has an AoE Bleeding alt-fire
Always appreciate the witty humor alongside the geniue helpful tips you provide. Not much of a player of TF2 or its gamemodes, but I feel like turning on the game whenever a new video comes out. Keep up the good work my man 👍
When I played on Skial, I noticed that seems to be your account, so I commented that if you're recording for the Zombie Escape tier list, And it turns out I'm right lol. Although I had a hate and love relationship with the game mode, can't deny that it's where most playtime goes and it's fun as hell when everything works
When I first started playing ZE they allowed you to use the disciplinary action. It was so great! I wish they had never taken it out. It wasn’t even unbalanced or anything, just made soldier way more useful
Hey there, i do agree on Spy being honestly selfish most of the time, but that's just how people play him, i often play him when we're too crowded on heavies and any major classes, providing distraction for those who fall behind. The same goes with Scout too, but i find scout particularly hard to avoid zombies....
The spy can actually disguise as a zombie and sneak past the zombies if the zombies are too distracted on getting to the survivors. Plus you might fool them by exactly what they are doing which is trying to get to the survivors. This actually saved my life once when I was playing as spy.
I used to play the old version and it used to be way different because soldiers used to be op as hell, medic could use overdose to receive enough speed to outrun any class, demo used to be able to destroy anyone with loose cannon and hybrid knight, and lastly vaccinator used to give invisible buffs that I don’t even remember what they did. Those were good times.
Damn i never play on skial server ZE (mostly on otaku server? It's been a while since i play any ZE) and boy did the meta really different. I might reconsider to try on skial server and learn again as a noob considering how different it is, i swear that feeling of discovery is always never old
You should play on skial, it has way better balancing than otaku. Otaku's balancing is so half assed that the scout could instantly end the game, killing all humans with his atomizer.
@@skyaz7372 I actually started with skial and played on it for about year. otaku imo is more fun, or at least feels like a breath of fresh air. i like that in comparison to skial ze, otaku ze's human pyro isnt overpowered and that the zombie classes have a bit more variety/playstyles. its quite interesting that you have to account for various enemy types like double jumpers (scout), dashers (demoknight), flankers(spys), tanks(heavys), and speed boosters(whip soldiers). and playing rocket jumping as human soldier is quite fun along with whip support. and playing human pyro is actually less of a crutch and more of a clutch with burning not doing slowdown and instead a periodical tiny stun effect and a slow airblast rate. i enjoy the otaku servers alot. definitely a breath of fresh air, but to each their own.
Holy shit, how long did it take you to write this? The alliteration is simply amazing, and I didn’t expect to see such skillful speaking remain simply spectacular throughout. Great work!
lmao heavy monoclass works almost everywhere hell even on vsh, just get a bunch of heavies near an amp and there's not much the boss can do that's why you have class caps
This is a pretty interesting list because the zombie escape i play is different but similar. 1. Zombies can have way more hp, zombo heavies get 50000 hp and scouts having i believe 18000-27000 if i remember correctly. 2. There is no enzyme but instead the server at the end of a round picks what mutation to give to the zombies. Zombies instead have passives (some of them arent listed because thale character already has those passives) 3. Some classes/weapons got new features to make them viable. Demo being able to tank hits from alpha zombies (we will get to that) without turning infected instantly, spy getting trip mines that freezes zombies in an aoe when triggered (as well as being invisible to zombies human detector), and huntsman getting explosive arrows 4. The mutations and alpha zombies are a trait given to zombies, alpha's are the stsrting zombies, they turn u into infected as soon as they are hit, while mutations are self explanatory, like speedboost, reduced knockback, increased jump height. 5. Demoknight is viable lel
If i had to make a tier list it would look something like this S: heavy, engineer A: soldier, pyro, scout B: demoknight, medic C: spy, demoman, huntsman D: Sniper
@@secretlysaber5654 zombies really depend on the map chosen tho, if they decide to go on a zm map then they're basically fucked with people not expecting zombie sniper, or difficulty with engie being op.
The amount of alliteration in these always leaves me in awe and amazement of how awesome you are as using alminacs...And a bit of anger that I am not as good at it. Well I gave that a shot.
Just to let you know Skial has managed to increase the player count from 32 to 60, at least on Skial Zombie Escape US. Though there are some bugs and crashes have been common earlier when trying to get the max amount of people. If all the problems are fixed you should enjoy playing 60 player zombie escape
Before seeing these videos, the only community server I went on was Uncletopia. Watched more of your videos and I realize just how much I have been missing out on.
Something interesting, in one of the servers in which this game mode occurs, the huntsman is buffed considerably. It makes the charging of shots faster, aswell as add explosive arrows that can allow for better mobility as a sniper, which helps since the maps in the server are aided immensely by mobility boosts, plus they knockback zombies more. I will probably edit as I continue but honestly I find the differences quite interesting
I would put Sniper in C tier, honestly, solely for the Heatmaker + Jarate combo allowing for consistent stuns and decent DPS (due to no-descope making your shot partically charged when the reload is done). And Jarate works well to both amplify your and your team's knockback as well as getting your focus a bit more often. Don't get me wrong, Sniper is still very meh in this gamemode, but I just find D tier to be harsh for him.
I'm late but absolutely amazing! Your animations keep getting better, pretty much agree with this especially with scout and pyro. Some servers make the Dragon's Fury and Phlog WAY busted since more damage = More kb is applied on the servers ( or majority, not sure )
The beggars shouldn’t be changed back to stock. It would be interesting to keep it how it is bc having multiple of the same weapon is stupid. I imagine the beggars would be rather powerful but burn through ammo insanely fast. Vaccinator should have the shield from mvm.
In other servers or versions sure but intox has infinite ammo so having a Rocket Launcher that simply fires 3 rockets into a crowd instead of 1 seems Busted As for the vaccinator shield zombie health is so large that the rapid damage that the Shield deals wouldn't be enough
I don't know if the flashing lights, in the beginning, were supposed to be intentional or because of the flashing light glitch in SFM but they kinda work since it fits the trope of lights flickering on and off to try and unease the people watching
I'd argue that spies are not the most inherently selfish class, they're just the class that does best being selfish. Sniper is really the most selfish class, as he requires team protection to fill his role and cant even do it that well. At least if a spy stabs a zombie, it's distracted for a hot second on top of the damage, and he gets Uber to get out and do it again. Spy may have the most potential to be selfish, but sniper is actively bringing the team down on most maps by just playing how he's *supposed* to play.
huh, I played on otaku server, and to see vastly different metas is really interesting, zombie demo being the worst is shocking because in otaku where everything is oneshot and caberknight exist(Which is a fkin nightmare and heart attack to deal with).
I remember when Phlog wasn't nerfed, hold a fucking chokepoint with one Phlog Pyro and you win the game because of how powerful the Phlog was. (The Phlog was super op with maps that had super close chokepoints which basically lead to Phlog doing so much damage and killing the zombies) now it's more of a utility with Mini crits and slow.
The escape plan is pretty useful because the soldier can't kill himself with rockets as his HP can get only as low as 5. This means that if you have a medic you can get quickly back to max
spy's niche is to soften up zombies or finish off zombies but with how the map's layout and other things make spy seem more selfish. that's what spy's niche was meant to be anyways.
Keep up with these type of videos, I love reminiscing of some classic custom games and some I’ve never played before. Would you ever consider releasing the gameplay unedited in the background on a separate channel because I would love to see how full matches played out on your gameplay as they get cut off to the next segment?
Hearing such eloquent sentences combined with the alliteration is a really unique touch, i have a short attention span personally and the alliteration always recaptures my attention. Good shit bro, your vids are really fun to watch and show me a side of tf2 have i havent really explored too much but looks really fun
I used to play this gamemode so much. I always used to think that the people who picked spy were just expecting to get infected and only really wanted to be as annoying as possible for the survivors afterwards. SCOUTS ON THE OTHER HAND..... Well, there was one map where a couple of people went as scout (and demo with stickyjumper I think) and would go so far ahead that the entire team would get teleported with the zombies and lose instantly. For 30 minutes. THIRTY MINUTES.
Pretty sure that when you have big cavities with bones sticking out and blood flowing from giant wounds, undead is an apt enough descriptor for the infected so don't worry.
i love this. all the animations are awesome! (like some zombie animations based off of L4D) the Ost in the bg is great! (Pvz and L4D being some of them) and getting to know all the stuff behind this gamemode is quite cool and interesting.
Love your vids man but i'd like to know, what made you make the list based off skial's ZE rather than otaku.tf's ZE? Considering both are really different well...like, REALLY different. Skial makes a ton of changes to weapons and mechanics while otaku keeps everything mostly the same as vanilla. It's a big gap between both
@@littlebadassgaming i genuinely didn't even know blackwonder had ZE, i doubt they do, i though otaku and skial were the only two with it that are still active
Is there any chance you're gonna do a short tierlist or quick review of the popular TF2 ZE maps? Not all of them are good/fun obvs but most of them are unique and interesting enough that there's much to talk about Don't see it happening anytime soon because it's understandable that you probably wanna take a break from talking about this game mode after this hour long video, either way this was a good watch loved it
