I'm not normally the kinda guy to say "like, share and sub" But I'm quite surprised on how poor this video is doing compared to others on the channel, like horrendously going down, 45% worse. Trend I noticed with the past few videos which haven't even surpassed 20k views but I'm really hoping this particular video gets enough views since I A. Put a decent amount of effort and time in it and B. It's based around a community gamemode that I feel needs to get more attention. I'll do more tier list videos like this in the future, primarily with Zombie Escape and a brand new community game mode when it's actually open for the public.
i really appreciate you adding a "recommended loadouts" list... a lot better than having to ask after the round started and getting told to not use the bushwacka.....while i already have it equipped
Creator of Slender Fortress Modified (The version Disc-FF uses) here, we always ranked classes after each beta version of 1.7.0 every time I either nerf or buff specific classes, and there are quite a number of hidden stats that I never mentioned in even the help menu since it is a beta build and I barely updated the localization part. Its weird since another community I work with which is where I am most of the time, which is District Zen, they ranked all 9 classes differently. It does make me happy people are still passionate about this gamemode.
I know I like to put the server on blast due to specific players, but I couldn't be happier knowing your server is getting consistent crowds of players every day. Really shows the effort you put in and the freedom Fire gives you to do what you believe is best for it. While not a part of the Slender Admin Team (and I'm sorry, ol' boy, but I have no interest outside of Murder, lol), I'm more than satisfied with the team currently in place as well. I hope you're just as happy people are as passionate today as they were when this video was made and before. You did a damn good job, fam.
Enjoyable and informative I always tend to like your tierlist videos for these community game modes as I know now that picking pyro seems to just be terrible everywhere, thanks for the helpful tierlists and bits of advice for these new game modes
heavy is for being a wall for non-instant kills sniper is for staring into the enemy's eyes demo and scout are for running away spy is for "stealth is optional"
Before the GRU nerf, heavy GRU used to “dominate” slender. I mean heavy can stay sanity the longest and have high hp. Yes I use to tryhard slender, because I’m poor and scared to play other scary game. p/s: demo sprint longer when he get scared. He can even out run scout because of the longer meter. But scout sprint is universal, so I won’t say he outclass scout
Well constructed and formatted as always. You put a nice creative flair on these videos such as the SFM shots for each class. I really enjoy your tier list videos and I hope you make more in the future! Shame this one isn't performing as well.
@@SpaceGuyOnline Glad it’s getting the attention it deserves. Good luck with your future videos! I look forward to what you have in store for the future!
Just saw your video on my server. Nice video and yes there are a lot of cringe donators. One thing I was talking about with my admins recently was improving some of the lesser used classes so things might change in future updates.
Isn’t there a fourth type of boss called the Hit and Run? They’re the hardest of them all and get progressively faster in a chase along with obliterating entire groups in an instant, forcing people to go alone.
There's technically like 16 boss types but they all are more or less the same, they spot you and they chase you, for time constraints it's easier to just group them all together since they're all functionally the same.
Hit and Run bosses are not that difficult to outrun, you just gotta have quick reaction time and run away before they even initiate the chase sequence. You just gotta not look at them lol
It would be cool if engineer retained the ability to build something useful, like some sort of noise beacon that could distract mosters by mimicing human voicelines or a spinning light that looks like a flashlight from a distance, but the beacon could be destroyed by only a little damage. Even a non functioning dispenser that would serve as a barricade would be better than his small advantage he has now. Also it would be cool if sniper's jarate could either apply a boomer bile like effect to monsters, hampering their visibility for a short duration or if the jarate gave them an outline that was visible through walls to warn nearby teammates. If scout weren't so good already I'd say give him mad milk and make it have a temporary slowdown effect on monsters, though maybe pyro could be given this ability instead with the gas passer to buff him a little.
I think that some community gamemodes are pretty underrated, i remember watching slender fortress since 2016 and getting scared all the time, but people dont mind much those alternative gamemodes nowadays, maybe because they are mostly difficult to understand or play. But lets be honest this videos are one of the most unique in the entire community of tf2, keep it up the good content man!
If I can change something in this tier list is that I would put demo in S tier and soldier in A because disciplinary action can increase speed pretty decently but the escape plan is amazing for all bosses that can't insta kill and his speed while low is faster when damaged and lower than 40 health can make him faster than demo and even scout Edit: i think a new update happened which makes heavy with the GRU not be reduced to 100 but 270 with mini crit vulnerability which still is very durable and he is as fast as pyro so basically he is better than engineer and pyro
The flashlight infuriates me to no end. It just spawns a light source on the thing you're looking at, meaning either you can't see what's close or you have to looks straight at the floor to see
Well holy shit, my friends are gonna be surprised by this one! That's the server I regularly go to and I know a couple of them in the video! Glad you came on by, hope you had fun!
Great video, my friend. I'm from Peru and I fondly remember playing this game mode (SF2). I was only 14 years old when I played it, and I spoke little English at that time, but I tried to communicate with different people on the servers. Watching your video made me nostalgic, but most importantly, I learned many things I didn't know, like the advantages each class has and so on. I'll go check if there's still any server active or not. Good luck with your next videos, take care!
Great video, it's really nice to see people still care about Slender Fortress in general. The points in the video seem pretty solid, although I want to make one honourable mention for the Soldier loadout. For Soldier, you can equip the MG (if you have one) for bosses that has a low base stun HP or is killable after a couple hits. You can crit them by jumping and timing your melee swings right, just like how you would do against real players in a match. However, this makes it really risky since not only are you sacrificing your stamina to run away, you are also providing a greater chance for the boss to catch up to you. Meaning that if you mess up the timing on your swings, you're as good as dead. Bosses like Reapers, Cazador, Kuszo, and Manduco Companions are great examples of killable bosses. Monsoon is the general exception since he's not killable, but can still be crit stunned. So as long as you have the timing, you can pretty much stun him over and over till you run out of stamina. And of course, it's only situational. So you might be better off with EP or DA if you're not great at timing your swings. Also, if you equip the Atomizer for the Scout and then spam your weapon taunt after the black screen fades away, you get some pretty funny results. This works with Boston Basher as well
I recently started getting back into Glubbables server. Very nostalgic, I remember being 10 in 2014 and just having the greatest time being jumpscared in TF2 lmao.
I accidentally clicked on this and when I saw the first 2 seconds of the intro, I just sat bewildered at what in the hell I just saw. I now feel obligated to watch this video.
0:33 that shit is annoying to deal with. even if you killbind before being teleported it respawns you. its bad enough when engis build sentries in spots nearby or demos putting down a shit ton of stickies. spells should be disabled during the wheel being spun. Also have sentries ammo be removed if the wheel teleports players (carnival of carnage is one of the few maps that does).
It's interesting to see Scout's role in this sort of mode. I fully expected it to be cowardly and such, running away from bosses and being generally a selfish class like Spy, but turns out he's kind of the opposite. Seems like an ideal team is a couple spies focusing on finding what needs to be found with some scouts, demos, and/or snipers (boss dependent) focusing on preoccupying the boss to let the spies do their job.
if you want other community gamemodes to make a tier list of, check out either engineer fortress or zombie run, engineer fortress is basically where you play against a bunch of engie bots (most times) on red and have to destroy sentries and cap points. For zombie run it's basically where you run around a map, hold a spot for a few minutes against real human player zombies, move onto the next one, repeat, and probably fight a boss
For Heavy, I think this should be noted if you can use this weapon in the gamemode, but using the Fists of Steel is bound to even hurt you more because that means Heavy would take even more damage against bosses with melee attacks. I havent played the gamemode, but it seems like most, if not all bosses, deal with melee based attacks or attacks from static damage, none of which classify as “bullet” damage.
tierlist for all gamemodes :kekw: normal tf2 scream fortress vshale slender fortress -freak fortress- (didnt play it, looks like hale but meme) hot air balloon one that i used to play as a kiddin
i dont comment very often but yknow what after watching this and your VSH tier list you've inspired me to reinstall the game once more. TF2 is truly eternal
Interesting fact, while heavy is mostly terrible in almost all aspects, equipping the fists of steel on him does in fact reduce the damage he takes from projectile bosses. It's downside is active as well however, so it by no means makes him good, but it allows him to survive scenarios he wouldn't have been able to otherwise if you have the foresight to know boss intros.
I feel like soldiers gimmick should be that they have a shotgun which would deal no damage and is purely cosmetic because "soldier hiding" is basically a oxymoron, he would fight the monster.
I've played on that server literally on almost every night last month (only stopping for Scream Fortress), I recognize almost everyone in the video lol. It sucks that I missed this party though. :( Although, I MIGHT have seen you online on the server before.
Hello, someone who plays slender fortress. I'd like to say that this tier list seems rushed or not thought well out (maybe because you played in disc ff which isn't the best experience for sf) with the class tier list. Slender fortress kinda doesn't have the worst classes in this gamemode but usually some people have different tier lists than others. Heavy in my opinion isn't the worst class, sure he cant regenerate or is slow but he has a very high health pool and it may not sound good since sprinting is encouraged in this gamemode except for the fact that heavy is the easiest class to melee stun (which you only mention engineer flashlight stun but not melee stunning ) in this gamemode at the cost of health. Medic can do a similair job but he has half the health and relies on regen to keep him alive which is good for longrun compare to heavy which can directly stun bosses. Heavy is also good against bosses that one shot most classes (like tryphophobia that does 280 damage) or are hard hitters that nearly one shot a weaker class since having a situation where classes like soldier or booties demo cannot survive 2 shot or medic cannot regen to full. He is also effective against proxies which i think you haven't even encountered before on other sf servers which heavy shines pretty well. Engineer has arguably a much worse class in this game mainly since having a longer flashlight duration isn't too usefull especially in maps that have infinite flashlight duration. He has higher flashlight stun than most classes but you can easely stun with flashlight in this game compare to melee making it not as effective unless its a boss with high flashlight stun health. Spy is also not S tier since unless its a server with blind bosses or mechanic where bosses chase when making too much noise, spys 40% silent footsteps is kinda worthless since if a boss sees you, you are dead with no stats what so ever. He also doesn't have good weapons to aside from spycicle. Sure footsteps may not alert the boss but if you have a good map layout, distracting the boss is less of a downside and sometimes an upside making spy not as usefull. I think this tier list wasn't bad except that's its more like first impressions and begineers will allways choose the class that is the easiest. I kinda recommend playing on District Zen, demon hamsters or other server since it has more bosses and more mechanics and newer types of bosses.
Boss stunning was mentioned briefly at the start, it should also be treated as a last resort option if cornered not the go-to which makes Heavy's extra health kinda pointless for those opportunities, even if he could get more opportunities in any class with Regen will have more chances. Engineer is just meh, I hesitate to say he's worse than Pyro but he's extremely dependent on the map, something mentioned in the video and in your comment The game mode is so old that finding updated and correct exact information is impossible resulting in personal testing that's been going on since August.
