For your first point in the Troubleshooting section, you can also create a "reset.cfg" file with your default controls for any keys that you use in the spy script. Then just write "exec reset.cfg" at the top of each class cfg file. This is more efficient than writing the same set of commands at the top of each class cfg file and allows easier adjustments if you need to change any of your base/reset settings. Hope this helps

@@Jeduken It gives a zoom in feature vlave didn't intend giving that player an advantage, in the video he literally says it makes headshots easier, It's an assist, an AIM assist, making the game easier in a way not normally accessible to all players is cheating, it's just vac dosen't notice this one

Note: not all scripts are cheats, many are to turn on features that are not accessible in the settings. Zoom in is natural and is automatically used on sniper rifles, all he’s doing is zooming in so he can line up shots a little better. The ones that are cheats are Code never accessible by players and what cheat scripts do, let you access stuff that not accessible like wallhacks. Important note is that "Not ALL" as some Scripts are cheats and some are just binds, the Zoom in is a Bind and something anyone can use without downloading or modifying the game, Scripts that do modify the game and require downloading are cheats.

@@isakandre Bullshit, someone said bullshit, there are many modifications that can be done by scripting that are straight up cheating, from removing the scope filter from sniper's scope, to changing the decloak sound to be loud as fuck. It's giving you an unfair advantage by modifying something in a way the developer never intended and in a way that a regular player never would. If valve wanted to give spies the ability to zoom in with the ambassador they would've done so.

@@mankeil4468 This doesn't give players an unfair advantage it simply changes your FOV between the legal values. Valve could've easily patched this by only allowing access to said cvars when the player is dead, in spectator, or disconnected. Scripting is part of the game if you don't support it join a competitive league or a community that doesn't allow it.

@@mankeil4468 Those other exploits are done by editing files inside the game, not by using in-game commands. sv_pure exists for a reason, and many of those exploits rely on the fact that Valve forgot to block certain files within certain folders. And in the case of the loud decloak exploit, that file is supposed to be blocked, but the sv_pure block for that file simply doesn't work properly. Knowing this, you're intentionally bypassing a restriction that Valve put in place. Valve has also tried fixing the scope removal exploit, so we know they don't approve of it. An Ambassador zoom script just uses commands. Valve could prevent players from changing those commands while connected to a server, like how you can't have a bind that flips your viewmodels to shoot around left-sided corners. (There is a way to make it work, but that's clearly not intentional, because Valve tried to stop it.) Maybe it's another case of Valve forgetting to do something, but we don't actually know what Valve's stance is on zoom scripts. That's another discussion entirely.

I have been using scripts, but also creating advanced ones, where you need to press additional buttons in order to do some actions. Something like spy changing the weapon from the disguise if you hold mouse4 button and then number 1 ~ 3. It's useful to not be very suspicious for going at someone while holding something odd or single weapon.

i listened to them talk about it in csgo. in summary: looking down the sight of any weapon is a console aim assist thing, so they feel that pc players don't need it. basically hardware skill difference

As You've stated it can be used for any class Here's some good samples If you want to snipe with demo pipes Use the Huntsman precisely Basic "zooming to scan areas" things(like Minecraft's Optifine client zoom) And trying to do a lineup which I don't think people do that much lineups in Tf2 since it's not a tactical shooter

I've used this in the past and its very useful, however there are other scripts out there that would fall under the same category as this (just using TF2 commands and modifying some of the config files) but are actually considered as cheating by competitive leagues. Some examples being the script that disables everything that covers the screen while zooming as sniper (think of the black areas surrounding the scope), and a way more egregious example is a script that changes the sound effect for decloaking to somehting like the halloween cat scream (which is loud as hell). So the question is where exactly do you draw the line. Anyways nice vid as per usual voro

Another example is replacing explosion smoke with the sapper destruction effect. Team colored but doesn't ruin visibility. It can be really hard to see on high max player servers with lots of spam.

I'd say you draw the line on how much advantage it actually gives you, for example with the Spy script, youre just doing a small zoom in so I'd say is not as a sniper scope, but removing the black corners of the sniper scope kinda ruins the tunnel vision effect and let you see places that you shouldn't be able while scoping so i'd say its a bigger advantage that just zooming as a spy, and changing spy DR sound just sounds like cheating cuz it will make a even louder sound that you cannot miss with the other sounds like the normal one.

Zoom there have many "steps" to be smooth: like first fov 90, then 89, then 87 and so on... You can find custom script to smooth zoomin with any weapon in source engine games. In singleplayer games you can use any fovzoom you want

One thing that fixed my zoom not working was that I basically placed all of my cfgs to the cfg archive in the tf2 files and it worked you could try it and tell me if it worked for you(also don't do anything to the spy file while playing tf2 or else it won't save and you will have to restart EVERYTHING)

I study programming in C#, C++ and java and my brain kinda stopped working as i was watching this video. Wow Only class i have equipped with special scripts to help me are my main ENgie with the fast buildings deploy trick and Heavy to instantly shout a voiceline when i´m eating a sandwich so enemies don´t know that i´m healing instead of waiting for them to come wich is nice. But by far i would say this is the most useful one since you can use the Ambassador (and the huntsman) to their full potential

If you’re watching this you’re probably familiar with tf2’s habit of hidden stats and the amby specific ones, but if you aren’t the amby has a headshot cooldown of 1 second so if you find someone afk, don’t just hold down m1 on their head, you’ll only get one headshot if you don’t let your crosshair go back to normal after it expands !
