Thailand has made it easier to receive visas online via the Thailand E-Visa System. You no longer have to go in person to a consulate or Thai embassy, you can apply online.
This is only for Visas issued outside of Thailand. Any visas issued in Thailand will require you go to Immigration. There are still a few embassies and consulates around the world that are not on the E-Visa system yet, so you are required to go in person. However, the majority have switched to the E-Visa system.

I think it is only fair to state both the positive and negatives of the evisa if you want to sound like a responsible business in handling the process. In my case the evisa made everything harder. I used to be able to drive down to the consulate hand in my application, grab lunch, go back to the consulate and correct any mistakes on the application and have a sticker visa in my passport the same day. Now they email back and forth and it takes 3days to get the visa. If I had known all the changes of the system I probably would just went for the single entry instead of the metv.

@@SettleinAbroad Right, and I agree, had I known all that I have to do and the time it takes before I applied I would have used a service, which is my point exactly, I didn't used to think that of Thai visas, they used to be stickered on the same day without hassles.
