You honor us old vets in what you do. You help us remember those times so long ago, those friends that have left us. Actually, we should be thanking you.
No, sir. Thank YOU! As a USAF Veteran who read RSR for the first time while deployed to UAE during Desert Shield/Storm, I want to take this opportunity to credit you on your phenomenal work at keeping this novel alive. The paperback that I read was already mangled when it was given to me by someone in my squadron, and it passed hands many times during our deployment. I remember returning to Germany with a new respect and no small amount of trepidation for our role in Europe at the tail end of the Cold War. I've read the novel countless times through the years since, and it was your work that convinced me to purchase the audiobook version last year (my eyes are no longer suitable for paper-novel-reading). I was sorely disappointed that the narrator's voice in the audiobook was not the familiar voice from "FIXED IT". I now know that I was reading your channel name incorrectly. I hope you don't mind, but I think I'll keep using my initial interpretation; I'll keep in mind that it's actually "FIX EDIT", but I prefer the flow and connotation of the former. ;) Lastly, I can't imagine that this is a solo effort, and everyone on the team deserves praise, but your narration is absolutely amazing. I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks over the last decade, and that voice is top-tier. I would rank it right up there with R.C. Bray and Nick Podehl who are my two favorites. Please let me know if that voice has graced any other content; I'd love to give it a listen.
And I always read it as "Fixed It" That being said: thank you so much for your work, and I always assumed, the voiceover was just from the audiobook, it was that professional! Red Storm Rising is the most interesting, fascinating and still up to date book I ever read. It would be a great great thing if the whole book would be presented in this way as you did it so far. Thanks so much!
As one of those service members, I read Red Storm Rising while deployed to the Persian Gulf in the late 80's. Couldn't put it down except when I had to actually go do my pilot job. I've reread it twice. That book and your videos are an extremely realistic depiction of the tactics and procedures of that time. Thank you for your efforts. It's simply entertainment at this point but certainly resonates with us old farts who lived and served through that part of the cold war.
No Sir, I think we all thank you! For your time, dedication, thoughtfulness & most of all, for everything we do not know about that goes into making each video come to life for us. Thank you Sir, thank you.
Outstanding. Many well deserved congratulations on your time, efforts, and fine work! Looking forward to hanging with your channel for the many coming milestones.
I read Red Storm Rising while in the Army 1989, heading to West Germany... I still have my original soft and hard cover.. To me, the best military novel written.. I didn't know how actually the land battle was descripted, until I participated on several training maneuvers exercises especially the REFORGERS, Caravan Guards, and etc... Being attach to 11th ACR, on the Gap, planning for WW3 the possibility of the use of tactical nukes and Chemical and Biowarfare... Team Yankee was also a great novel..... Thanks! Cold War and Desert Storm Vet!
I agree heartily !!! I was on the Gap about 11 hears before you and when I first read RSR I was flabbergasted by the way the plans were described, as it was very close to the Oplans I was exposed to back then. The attention to detail was so amazing. Red Storm Rising is tied for the top of my favorite book list with Hunt For The Red October.
Red Storm Rising has been my favorite book since I first read it. When they started making those books into movies, I thought there was no way this could be done. Yet, here you have made it come to life. Thank you!!
No sir - thank YOU! RSR is a fantastic book, and your efforts have only may it that much more enjoyable. It came out when I joined the USAF and scarily mirrored the warfare we were training for. The life you've given those sequences with your music and animations has taken it to a whole new level. It is the very least I can do to like and subscribe to what you're doing.
Dude, your content is awesome and brings back many memories from my time in the 80's passing the time in places like the arse end of nowhere with books by Clancy, Bond and Coyle. Never knowing what tomorrow would bring or even if there would be a tomorrow. These books kept me sane and your videos are fond flashbacks on the good times.
Thank you so so much for what you are doing. I cannot wait until you have red storm rising from start to finish on a playlist. Since a lot of people won’t read these books, they need to see what could and can’t happen in the world. Clancy had a very unique and accurate perspective, and a way to communicate things. But his writing was not for everyone and movies. Take too much artistic license to create a good movie. Clancy books really need to be just converted to video not rewritten for a movie. What you do is more important than you can possibly imagine. My girlfriend who used to be a flaming liberal has now turned 180 and sees what’s going on in our world and understands the moves that are happening in Ukraine and Taiwan. Again thank you so much what you do is very very important. We will be watching and great anticipation of your projects.
You're welcome. I have really enjoyed how you have brought these books back to life. Those of us that were In the Nav at the time were really incredulous at Tom Clancy's detail. They also brought back memories of navigating the "Line of Death". Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of this expression. BZ!
We wouldn't be here without your hard work and dedication to transforming one medium into another. Thank you very much for bringing it to a new format!
Thank you for bringing these videos to life and introducing me and many others to Red Storm Rising. With out your dramatization of Dance of the Vampires, I may not have stumbled across the book. Now I’m in my third reread.
You’re killing it man, really proud to see how far you’ve come. Was worried when you took your videos down awhile ago, but I’m so glad to see how you’ve come back. You’ve come so far, congratulations!
Ex submarine service here (1975-1979). Your videos are top notch content. Read the Red Storm Rising book when it first came out, including a lot of early Tom Clancy. Played Larry Bond's Harpoon simulation when it first came out (the pen and paper version) and picked up the the computer version later. The game greatly increased my knowledge of weapon platforms and sensor systems. Have enjoyed all your work and hope to see more in the future. Take care.
I didn't realize this was a one person channel, I figured it was a conglomerate of makers. So WOW!! The 1M is even more spectacular!! I am a 30 year navy vet, ABH flight deck director and Crash Bos'n. I picked up my first Tom Clancy book, HfRO, in 1987 at the beginning of my first deployment. I was immediately hooked. I don't remember the first time I read RSR. When I did, I couldn't put it down. From that read forward, I read RSR multiple times for two main reasons. It was my favorite. The second, when I was out to sea for short periods of time and would finish one book, I would always gravitate toward RSR to take me through the rest of the underway. That morphed into reading it as close as to the first day underway over the years and then to reading it in summertime (obviously). I would often reflect how I would find solace and could lose my self in a book about WWIII while training to fight in the same and eventually the WOT. Irony? I could best describe it as an exercise in hope that world remains at peace but knowing that hope isn't a plan. Regardless, my annual RSR read is always a treasure. When I discovered this channel, I was ecstatic for the visuals and a different perspective to my perennial favorite. Thank you for what you do and congratulations!! All the best on your way to 2M views!
You earned those million views through fantastic craftsmanship and what had to be a hell of a lot of work. Please keep it up! Question though - how did you get the audio in Michael Pritchard's voice?
Hah! All this time I thought it was FIXED IT! But its FIX EDIT. Good to know. And if I'm being honest...Thank You sir. While I had always wanted to serve my country, laying in bed in high school late at night in the mid-80s reading and re-reading RSR stoked my imagination and commitment to serve a higher calling in the military. After 23 yrs active duty and nearly 300 combat hours in the B-52, I can now sit in the comfort of my home and enjoy your work, and think back on where it all started. Thank you Tom Clancy and FIXEDIT.
5 years ago I would have thought you'd have hired Michael Prichard for this voice bit. The technology these days is insane. Thank you for sharing your talent at creating fun to watch audio clips.
I served in the worlds greatest Navy from 1981 to 2001. My first three deployments; 86, 88 and 90, all involved combat in some form. This was the high water mark for the US Navy and I was fortunate to be there. These videos remind me of better times and I appreciate the visuals that go along with RSR. Thank you.
Thank you. You’ve brought to life the story of the fight we expected, but prayed we would never see or participate. Those of us who served during that time fought these battles hundreds of times through training and exercises. Even though we were bitching the whole time, especially during winter, we knew there was one bear that didn’t always hibernate. I don’t know if anyone else remembers, but some editions of the book have a small story included at the start of the ground offensive where an air base is under attack and an NCO was trying to get a family to a 141 for evacuation. This book was a constant companion at the fire station and when sent on TDY to Central America (twice!) and Saudi Arabia. I look forward to future content and your next million views. Again, Thank You.
Actually, I must thankyou for this. Since the very first time I read this novel, I imagined all the scenes in my head and you put them alive. I will be thankful forever!
G"day FIXEDIT and a BRAVO ZULU on a entertaining and stimulating presentation of factual SOP's and their contents. A "Shit Hot' effort that thoroughly deserves the recognition from those who severed like myself. I stand and raise my glass and toast to the success of FIXEDIT now and into the future.
From someone who was at the sharp end of the spear in England in the 80s and 90s your recreation of this story is all too real. Very happy to support your work.
I look forward to each new edition. Hunt for Red October was a great book and I enjoyed it many times. I played the Submarine simulator to pass time in Saudi during the first Gulf War in my off time. Thank you for the hard work and memories you bring back.
As a service member, just wanted to add to the pile I seriously enjoy your RSR Chapters. Look forward to every time they come out. Thanks for the effort.
30 year submariner. I read RSR when it came out in paperback and I was at the Naval Academy. Your production is awesome! It would be awesome if Tom C would let you produce the whole thing. I'd totally be up for watching five hours of this. Please keep it up!
Keep up the awesome content. I, as well as several others, know this takes time. I think it’s safe to say that we prefer quality over quantity, and your quality is top notch. And thanks for your support.
20 years in the military during the 80's and 90's, another 22 doing the civilian version of what I did in uniform. Back in the 80s I read two books cover to cover, Team Yankee and this one Red Storm Rising. Loved them both and yes both those books were somewhat troubling at that time. Thank you so very very much for making these videos and posting them. I have my wife, both daughters and oldest grandkid watching out for your postings, theyve already watched your other videos revolving around the book Red Storm Rising. They were really shocked to hear the words from that era of the cold war and were totally enthralled when watching your realistic videos that accompanied the book wording. Stay safe out there and let us know here if there is anything we can do to maybe assist you in the future pertaining to RSR videos.
NO BROTHER .... THANK YOU .... THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO DO THIS ... I WAS IN THE ARMY IN THE GULF WAR AND IV ALWAYS HAD A LOVE FOR AIRPLANES ... IV NEVER BEEN MUCH OF A READER AS I AM MORE VISUAL SO WHEN I FOUND YOUR VIDEOS I KNEW I HAD FOUND SOMETHING SPECIAL !!! THE WAY YOU BRING THE BOOKS TO LIFE IS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING .... THE GRIM REAPERS TRIED IT NOT LONG AGO WITH A MISSION BUT THEY CAME NO WHERE CLOSE TO DOING IT AS YOU DO !!!! PLEASE KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING ... WE'LL BE HERE TO WATCH !!!!!!
Thank you also, I am always watching for your next video and often re-watch them all.... It would be awesome to see all the videos edited into one long play movie....
Thank you sir for doing all this work! I’ve loved seeing the videos and the book being read live! I wish the whole thing was done so I could watch the book start to finish
The thanks goes to you for bring to life one of the best if not the best techo-thriller. Have a look at "Arrow Storm" by Joe Salem an updated red storm with a different red and a storm in a different ocean.
Outstanding videos. I'm glad the war that we trained for never came to be. Thank God! The guys I served with took our skills we got from training to fight Ivan and fought Iraq in 2 months winning.
Well earned my man, you put out some great stuff, and as someone who was stationed in West Germany and read the book just a few months after it came out, it was all too real. RSR is too complex for a real full-length movie, but you're doing a fantastic job with the pieces.
Thank you again for your effort and talent, I had the exact reaction to first reading as well. The book entertained me when off to war and now you entertain us during fire seasons. Keep it up brother.
While I know it MUST have taken a LOT of effort and even more time… I just want you to know how much I’ve appreciated your videos. I first read ‘Red Storm Rising’ as a teenager, which for a guy who really didn’t enjoy ‘reading’ all that much was no small feat. It’s a wonderful & wonderfully suspenseful book. It lit a fire in me to join the US Navy, having no USN history in my family full of former US Army personnel. After coming home I didn’t think back on or revisit my Navy memories all that often… until I saw your ‘Chapter 35 Time on Target’ video. The first of your many works that I’ve now watched & re-watched & will continue to. Leaving me now beyond grateful. All those memories, the good along with the not-so-good, I may have otherwise lost over the years. So for whatever you believe it’s worth, I just want to offer you my sincere gratitude & appreciation. I’ve seen several people try to take the source material & somehow bring it to life. But usually all they managed to do was play an audiobook essentially with ‘some sort of video’ accompanying it. Your’s are quite different. You either pay an extreme amount of attention to detail… or you just have an otherworldly type of luck😂. I suspect it’s the former. Again, please know that it ALL has made a difference for me. I had some things locked away in the back of my mind & I may have mislaid the key to it all. Perhaps forever. You provided me that key. Thank you so much. 🫡🇺🇸
