@@jeffschramm1723 It means that people shouldn’t be upset that Holtby is leaving the Caps, I’m saying they should smile because he was with the Caps for so long
He is up there with Marc Andre Fleury these two are the greatest goalies and the nicest kindness caring compassionate humble human beings that you could possibly ever meet my God bless him and his family as they as they start the chapter of their life with the Vancouver Canucks.
You Holts are the reason I’m playing competitive hockey right now. I was playing rec level hockey and my parents gave me a choice to either quit hockey all together or keep going, and I picked keep going, because I “always wanted to be like Holtby”. I tried out being goalie at next years tryouts and made the second highest team. Next year I made the highest team and now I am at the highest team again and looking to play AAA. Every time I think about quitting cause I can’t take it anymore, I think about what you had to go through to make it to the NHL and I push myself harder. Your my inspiration and I will root for you every step of the way 🔴⚪️🔵
When I first saw him I knew he was the best of the three goalies Holtby, neuwirth ,varlamov we had at that time as a Caps fan since 1975 I thank you for bringing home the cup
This was a great tribute and coming from a 'Nucks fan. I havent got to see a lot of him, but I know he's a good goalie. Excited to see him in Vancouver
Stood in front my tv crying when you guys won the cup.. played back “the save” at least a dozen times.. man.. thankyou sir!! From a life long caps fan.. GOD BLESS YOU ON YOUR JOURNEY... HOLTBEEEEAST!!!!!! Scratch that.. 15 times .. after this vid..
Man, I'm trying to hold back tears watching this video. He's not a Cap anymore, but I'm still gonna follow him playing for the Canucks(curious what his new equipment setup is gonna look like). He's now got a goalie coach in Ian Clark, who coaches goalies the same way Mitch Korn does. I think Holtby is gonna have a strong bounce back year.
We are very happy to have him here in Vancouver. We lost our back-to-back mvp and best defensive defenseman to a division rival, but this kept the fanbase in check, how could we not be honoured to have Holtby?
I have been born, and lived my life in BC Canada. The Canucks have been my team since I was old enough to know what hockey was. I think I speak for most Vancouver fans when I say that I am very excited and honored to see him in our jersey. A video like this one really shows what kind of human being he is, and what a great addition to the team and community he will be.
I'm a Capitals fan who started watching the Canucks in light of Jay Beagle, one of my favourite Caps, signing there and am excited to continue following the team! From what I've heard of Ian Clark, it sounds like he'll be just what Braden needs and if he can return the Holtbeast to winning form, the Canucks will have one of the best goalie tandems in the NHL with him and Demko.
Always awesome seeing him in the east, I dreaded every game the islanders had to play against him, but in the end of the day something about Holtby made him one of my favorite goalies in the league, cheered him on all year and kept a close eye on his stats yearly, it’s upsetting to see him leave the metro
Man I remember when we played Boston in the first round and holtby became the starter for the first time and they had him ranked as the worst goalie going into the playoffs and he single handedly helped us beat Boston by notching like 40 saves every game, he took the reigns and never looked back. Respect holt, thank you for the years
Thank you for everything you have done for us Holtby! I will miss you and you have been the best Goaltender ever and I will never forget that! and my favorite player as well and thanks for the memories! #ThankyouHolts! #AllCAPS
Holtby you will always have a special place in my heart ❤️ I grew up watching you, i wanna say thanks for the cup and being the best goalie we could’ve asked for! It helped because I also had to battle cancer I would just watch ur highlights, or the caps game.
Watching him play in Hershey as a kid for me was awesome and seeing him on TV with the Caps and winning the cup with Beags and Carly was even better❤️will definitely be missed in the organization
From a Flyer Fan who lived in the Greater DC Metro Area and watched a lot of Cap games and local sports casts. 1) An incredible owner and franchise; 2) an incredible net minder/teammate/hockey ambassador and what a save. Good lucks Holts on your next team...cannot wait to see you play in person again but this time at at the Wachovia Center.
Holtby, Equally as great human being as a Hockey player. If only the world could love without prejudice like he does. Thanks for all the saves. You will be missed.
The great Braden Holtby, a damn good netminder in my eyes. Also a great human being. Live long and prosper!!! Hockey is the greatest!!! J'aime le Canada!!!
Watching this made me cry - Holts deserves better than season he just had. Team needs to support him and he will deliver like he did for Caps. When a goalie makes his best save in a Cup Final duruing a Cup clinching game - it cant fucking get better than this! Hope to see Holts lift another Cup and I sure want him to finish his career with us in Capitals...
Honestly makes me really really sad! Loved watching him every weekend in Hershey! Always rooted for him and just knew he was going to take his career way further then the bears! He also reminds me of the love of my life. She loved hockey and Holtby! I wish so badly he would have retired as a Cap but will always be a fan of Braden Holtby!
Not just an amazing goaltender but an amazing person, the pens had the honor of facing him several times in the playoffs, winning and losing some. As a pens fan, good luck in Vancouver we’re gonna miss you here in the east 😢
Canuck fans please take good care of him he is an amazing goalie and I miss Him more than anything being on our team and I will NEVER for get “the save” miss you holtby
Welcome to Vancouver and thank you @Capitals ... he'll really be excited with this new group of young ones... EP is unreal and his intense focus and drive at such a young age is rare... he is just as good and takes great pride in defending also
I love Holtby, wish we never got rid of him. He had such a good impact on the locker room and team as a whole, really would love to see him come back to the team. By far the best Goalie we’ve ever had. Without Holtby, we don’t have that cup run in 2018.
