What's your fav card from Booster 2?

I guess you could consider this rule change the first “new mechanic” in yugioh history. I think we can all agree it made the game much more fun and strategic than “bigger number wins”.

So i looked at the dates, at this time in the manga, it's somewhere between the yugi-kaiba rematch and kaiba vs pegasus. I guess that means "battle city rules" were introduced because of the physical card games balance decisions?

I wish we could normal summon in defense position without set

Tribute Summons should have always been a form of Special Summoning. The fact that it still is not, rendering the mechanic entirely obsolete for almost two whole decades is a disgrace

Great video. It goes along well with Cimoooo's weekly series of dueling with the OCG card and he makes a new video with each new set coming out. It isn't really accurate to real life, as they use extremely meta decks, with the knowledge and playing style of modern yugioh, which wasn't really how it was back in the day, but still interesting.

6:00 did OCG events have side decks back then? I know most of the OCG events these days are best of 1.

yugioh was ALWAYS "good stuff" in the first years. I would say until Legacy of Darkness when Warriors came into the games decks did a LITTLE bit get diversed. Otherweise.... you basically had ONE deck to build and from all the sets most of the cards were trash. Looking back it's kinda hard to see how bad LOB actually was for a set. Most other TCGs had base sets that at least allowed some more Deck Themes, not in ygo though.
