The ump didn't blow the whistle until the pies players almost reached the north guy. As soon as the ump paid the mark, the pies players moved back. It's not a mark until the ump pays it. Maybe the ump wasn't sure it went 15 or was not a bump ball. Good decision in the end.

Daics got a fist on his, Quanor did one of those reverse handballs that every player does. 50 metre penalty one was the umpire not immediately blowing his whistle for a mark. The only controversy was the touched off of Steele. I'll go over the whole game checking decisions if you'd like?

Your take on Dusty (from 22:00) is spot on, Eddie. We don't want cookie cutter players...beyond their talents and athletic abilities, they are people just like us and we are all quite unique. Those judging Dusty on the basis of tatts, the life of his Father, or his relative shyness etc. are just low IQ individuals often with a lack of life experience. The same can be said about most of those who post incessantly negative nonsense on social media, or in youtube comments (see some below 🤭) Eagles fan here, by the way, and I really enjoy the insights you two provide on this podcast.
That pies team is getting praise for being 54 points down to north.... Premireship sides dont track like that to bottom of ladder teams. Swans, Blues and Hawks will all toy with that ageing side. Id love to know how much better pendles, mitchell and sidebtm will be in next few years? That wont stack up to kids who can run all day like a Weddle or a Day.

Scott runs at least 5 metres off the mark, the Collingwood players saw that and assumed playon, the ump was too slow on calling it so gave the Collingwood players the benefit of the doubt. This happens in most games, and is never talked about. But because it's Collingwood, it means the AFL is corrupt...
No it doesn't. What happens most games is that anyone encroaching before play on is called is given 50. It happened in the Saints match last week. What does happen every week is a player can move laterally without it being called play on, as happened multiple times in that very game.
These types of comments are painting Collingwood fans in a horrible light. Literally every fan of clubs not supporting either side playing agree that was a shockingly poor miscall that should have been paid. Be a better fan and demand more from the umpires rather than letting them off the hook cause it benefits your team.
@@COVIDPLAYSOFTHEWEEK12345 The AFL came out today and stated that the right decision was to call play on. The umpire did not, as he was too slow. If it resulted in a North goal, then the discussion would be the other way, Collingwood robbed as it was play on. Anyway, many errors as usual by the umpires and it is all magnified due to the closeness of the result. A final note, should the academy award of nearly jumping the fence when hardly touched should have been paid? That was a goal for no reason at all to North. So it cancels out this non 50m call.
Bartel doesn't seem to be objective. Just harping on about the decisions that did not go North's way. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is a Nick Larkey mark in the first quarter that appeared to be taken over the goals/points line. Larkey took the kick and scored truly from 5 metres out. Just wanted to mention this because a lot of non Collingwood people keep talking about Crisp's goal, alleging to have been touched by the North Melb player. The non 50 metre penalty may have been a mistake, but are people going to focus on one decision here in a whole game of footy. What if Scott received the 50 and missed.
Eddie argues around the 15:00 mark....that if one image shows that the ball is touched, and the other doesn't, then who's to say? After acknowledging that the fingers go back. And to be asking if the ump blew the whistle when Scott marked - does he have a hearing problem? Did he not watch a replay? Throwing in 'I could be wrong' as an aside but still rabbiting on about it only makes it worse. 'It's a great result for North'. No doubt you'd be saying the exact same thing about Collingwood if they were looking for their second win but I guess 'I could be wrong' too.
Eddie, don't know if you read the comments but boy you hit the nail on the head with your comment about the AFL claiming other people's ideas. Some years back I submitted to the AFL an alternative fixture that was the 6-6-6 fixture where every side played each other once before dividing the comp in to the first, second and third six. The first six playing each other for final positions 1-6, the second six for the last two spots in the eight and the third six for salary cap or draft pick rewards. I never received an acknowledgement but lo and behold, about 18 months later, Gil mentions it as his preferred fixture change - clealry, Travis Auld was the asshole who claimed it was his idea.

I think if sides kick straight they can win. North kicked straight almost pulled it off. Melbourne could not hit the side of a barn the week before, they got thumped.
If he had’ve kicked a goal after he took the advantage but the umpire called him back y’all be whingeing about that too, have a look at the 4 shots at goal you missed in the last 1/4 that may have something to do with it
Bartel hasn't got a clue, watch the replay, Scott never stops running after the mark and it's not to go back on his mark, he's running off his line and when he realizes the Collingwood players are on top of him he tries to change the angle and go backwards to make out he wasn't playing on, that's the tell, the change of direction... in the end the umpire had an each way bet and brought it back, but he obviously thought the same as the 2 Pie players that he was playing on.
You're alone on that one. Umpire called a mark and they both ran over the mark before the umpire called play on. It's a routine 50m penalty. Nroth shouldn't have lost either way but that was obviously a 50m penalty. 4 umpires on the field and none of them are in a position to get it right. Useless they are
Irrelevant. The umpire blew the whistle for Mark and never said or blew whistle to state play on. 50m penalty every day of the week and should of been paid.
@@LAT04 He played on, kept running after the mark but not backwards, he went sideways then when he saw the Pie players tried to stooge the ump by backing up, that was the tell, he stopped dead and changed direction to back up... ooh look at me I'm not playing on, lucky he wasn't caught hold in the ball. Anyway Pies do what they always do, not sure griping about it will help.
EDDIE ,EDDIE dont be silly if North won it would have ended the Pies chances at playing finals , tigers are playing a higher grade of footy than North and getting top 150 players slowly coming back into team from injury and will finish as high as 12th so North could win 3 more games and still finish last and get some positives prior to season end . i bleed blue and white and lossing this game was sad and deflating for the club and fans spin it however you want with your black and white glasses ED
