I made that mistake lol. I built a similar machine but put an AMD Firepro v3900 1GB 128-Bit video card. I built it for my GF as a media/emulator station and installed Linux Batocera. Big fail she has a 4K tv. Works really well for my niece and nephew though they have a 1080p tv :) I found the computer it in the garbage and only spent 20 CAD on the video card. I really like your video's man! Reduce waste Re-use

@@kyles8524Personally, i have a 42 inch TV so at that size my eye's can even tell the difference between 1080p and 4k. when you get into very large screens like 60 inch then i might see the difference

same lol it was advertised as a 2018 refurbished or something like that but was an older model that was refurbished in 2018 and mine did come with an ssd but i had to get it replaced after a few months and it came with no graphics card

Oof that's rough. I got mine in 2016? And it wasnt advertised as anything whack like this. Mine was just a refurbished i5-2400 with 16Gb of ram from Best buy with a 3 year warranty for 230CAD? It's really limited even with the gtx 1650 low profile, so imma upgrade this year if the market chills out :3

I have two of the 8300. One with a 1030, the other with the maximum supported card of a 1650 and just finished Cyberpunk on High settings with perfect frame rate on the 1650 at 1080p. Its a beast of a machine most hate because it's not RGB and a clear cover.

How's it holding up now?

@@OzTalksHW HP 8300 now like a day it was bought, replaced dvd drive with metal mesh for better cooling, dvd drive was busted anyway.

Just upgrade to a 1050 or 1650 someday and you will double your FPS easily. I recommend the i7 CPU for 144hz displays. Ensure proper cooling tho if you install a 1650, I recommend adding a small, additional exhaust fan to get the heat out of the case and set the idle fan setting at least to two bars.

Some years ago I put together an Optiplex 380 with a Xeon and a GT 1030. Costed me around 100 total, and the little thing is still kicking as an Ubuntu machine.
