oh fudge, that is one tight turn. I have the N3, and got two sets of 93A (wine reds) coming. So looking forward to the change. i did my first ride on my N3 a couple days ago, and it was pretty stable out fo the box. My fear is going fast downhill on rough roads, with the small bumping to cause the board to wobble. No wobbles at all, but cannot carve or make tight turns on the stock bushings. I got three pairs of bushings coming, 2 pairs of 93A and 1 pair of 90A. I'll play around with this comboand with some stock bushings to find my sweet spot. Thanks for the video and maybe put riptide in the title of your video. I did research on the N3 and Riptide bushings days before, and only till now, i found this video.

Yes mate!!! We have used Riptide Bushings esk8 formulas for our DKP trucks for years now. Incredibly good bushings and excellent customer service. They had no problem spending time with us to dial in my boards and my young sons board. Brad and Tracey Miller are beautiful people.

Bushings do make a huge difference. That's where evolve gets there better feel from . The rest of there board is below most other companies. The ultimate upgrade . E-mail your weight and board specs. Also your type of style. You will not regret it. Rip tide are the masters of bushings . Made my chep beast board viper a ex way flex competitor. DO NOT UNDER ESTIMATE THE DIFFERENCE. Thanks Scott love your work .

Was the first upgrade I did to my n1. Bought 4 of each from I think 87-96, and tried them all out. I'm a heavy guy at around 245 pounds with everything on, and I was a new rider, so I ended up needing the 96s. I should revisit that now that I've been riding it almost daily for 9 months or so, might fix the kind of huge turn radius, plus I'm way more steady on the board now. Hmm.

*Bushings are Everythin!* ⚡️🤙🏽🤟🏽🤙🏽⚡️ Personally I love Venom bushings, less rebound, less bouncy than Riptide Kranks. I never ride stock bushings amymore. Omg thanks for the shoutout, I'm kinda obsessed with bushings, everyone needs to try Riptides and Venoms to see which they prefer, people either like one or the other, rarely both 🤙🏽 A bushings video from Scotty, 'appy days! 🤩 Great info and awesome you're raisin more awareness of Riptide, their service is amazin too. Not jusr for more stability, better bushings also make carvin / turnin more fun too 👌🏽

I got two riptide DKP boxes for my two DKP boards + pivot cup which is probably as important as bushings in fact. it really transforms the ride, like if they help you for carving : giving the rebound you need to change angle. For the price... it really worth it.

Definitely the first upgrade any dkp/tkp/rkp board should have. I’ve been running the hardest duro dkp kit in my DIY evolve’s trucks for 2 years now and there are times it feels more stable with dkp trucks than my mountainboard’s channels and almost on par with my rkp race board. Riptide bushings are worth every cent.

I love Riptide's 95.5a WFB barrel bushings and 96a Meepo Shedder pivot cups, especially when it comes to getting the exact measurements of these and putting this info in my reviews on their website product listings for future reference and other Esk8 riders!

I have the nomad N1, will these bushing help with turning and keep stability on high speed? the stock bushing for N1 is 100A/96A and i need to tighten them pretty tight to prevent any wobbles. Would 93a from riptide still prevent wobble cause its a softer bushing and i believe it could still be bad at high speed? and what are the washers that they have on the site when picking bushings. idk anything about bushings/washers they are mentioning
@RipTideSportsManufacturi-ck4jv
@RipTideSportsManufacturi-ck4jv 5 месяцев назад
The Nomad is a beautifully designed board with a steeper steering angle in the front compared to the back which goes a long way in preventing speed wobbles. Bushing compound as well as how you tighten the front compared to the back or arrange washers on the setup is the the next level. Our KranK compound is very sensitive to the clamping pressure put on the bushings by the kingpin nut so if you set your bushings up symmetrically with the same bushing and washer combination, you need to tighten the back bushings 1/2 to 1 full turn tighter than the front to balance the system of the different truck angles due to the front wedge angle and rear de-wedge angle of the Nomad deck. You can set the board asymmetrically with bushings and flat washers in the front truck and bushings with cup washers in the back truck and tighten the front and back equally. Flat washers are less restrictive and cup washers are more restrictive so the front is allowed to turn easier than the back which improves both agility and stability.

Great you are mentioning this very important topic! I am in electricskateboarding since 2009 (very dangerous stuff those days :-P) and had a bunch of boards since then. My first attentions of improving the trucks were on my yuneec e-go about 10 years ago. Today I am mostly riding a V4 Shuffle ER with open barrel Orangatang bushings (superior at carving but tricky above 40km/h) and my beloved 13s Ultra X with Riptide closed barrel bushings (rock solid at high speed and great turning). Stock bushings were always to stiff for me at 66kg weight. I also changed the pivot cups on the trucks to Riptide (and yes, they are quite expensive for two small plastic cups) and the precision of the trucks improved a lot, especially on the V4. So in my opinion it is a good invest to spend another 50 to 100 bucks for improvements (bushings, pivot cups and sometimes bearings) when buying a new board, your riding experience could be improved quiete a lot. Thanks for your great content!

Thank you Scott for such a killer video, really loved watching it. Some questions have come up about our washers influence on bushing response. Our Cups are made specifically for us and offer a tighter tolerance than most and our small flat washers offer the same tighter tolerance than most. Washers are the cheapest device to fine tune a setup. Personal preference comes into play here but my default configuration is our Small flat washers on the bushings in the front truck and Large Cup washers on the bushings in the back truck. This configuration offers enhanced agility and stability. KranK bushings are especially influenced by washers selection due to how the compound reacts with the wall of the cup. Urethane, like water does not compress, it just changes shape, so a cup is more restrictive than a flat.

This looks amazing! I'm gonna get set too and test them. thanks for the tips! I do have a question though, do you think the stability comes from the riptide bushing itself or the CNC-ed cup washer on the deck side of the truck? because i think you mentioned the cnc-ed up was included by riptide bushings? thanks! keep up the awesome contents
@esk8jaimes
@esk8jaimes 5 месяцев назад
Having cup washers at better tolerances does help, yes. I was surprised how most are too wide or narrow on the inside for some bushings. (I double checked with digital calipers) But the majority of stability comes down to durometer rating and making sure you've dialed those bushings in right

Crazy that you have been in the game for so long and havnt even tried riptide bushings. I use Fatcone/barrel WFB. Great for high speed stability, but also great for carving. I also tried their APS, but went with WFB as it didn't have the rebound which the APS have (all about personal preference).
