I agree. Even tho I do watch and support the deegans, this has left a sour taste in my mouth. Star yamaha would have deegan a new bike setup in a few days. if they arent hiding something let the kid have the bike. There is no reason to have Haiden on a factory bike at lorretas anyway.
@@eddietolbert5308 don’t be stupid these factory teams spend 100s of thousands developing these engines so how is it fair to spend all the money for some little jumped up kid to come n buy it for 18k
There's absolutely nothing for an engine builder to need to explain or apologize for, even if he did want to see inside the engine of a claimed bike. Even if he had fronted the money. The rule is the rule and the motivation for the claim is of no concern to anyone. Pay the money, take home the bike. Period. Full stop. Yamaha, Star Yamaha, Deegans are behaving like a crime syndicate in all of this. The AMA needs to get ahead of this, stop the retaliations and lop some heads.
IF hes suuuuuuuuch a great engine builder then why did he want the engine? Sounds like he needs it to figure out why they are beating him. Kid Sucked and was what #44 so either the engine sucked or the rider sucked so pick which one it is????
@@Dave-tn3eo First of all it doesn't matter why the bike was claimed or for what purpose. Doesn't matter how fast the rider is. The rules don't care. Secondly, get your facts straight. @@jaymckoskey25 might be the rules but it’s ethically wrong and not in the spirt of the sport to claim a bike like that. Riding factory bikes that have 100,000s spend in development should not be available to everyone it should be earned. Why should Yamaha star loose there technology that they paid to develop because some nobody has a bone to pick with haiden because he got bested by him? The rules bullshit.
@@playboy010227 they should lose because they brought a$100,000 bike to an amateur event. That’s exactly the bike that should be claimed. Bringing it was the first of several ethical lapses. The problem is the sport is in a substantial decline and the AMA the factory's the tracks etc need a star family like the Deegans to bring new and old fans back to the track and back into racing for the sport to survive....... It is what it is. If you want to create drama and cause problems for the sport and pull some shady shit like that of course the sponsors aren't going to want to be involved with a kid that likes to cause problems and run around and fuck shit up shows disrespect and shows how ignorant that kid is because that kid was still racing as he's trying to take his bike from him causing all this commotion over trying to buy deegan's bike as he still racing why not just go buy a new bike and build it up the way you want why do you have to go try to take deegan's bike from him I wish nothing but the worst for that guy for causing all these problems for the deegans
Blame the motor guy,not the deegans. He put this kid up to it and now hes lost his ride. Rider didn't even know about the rule until the motor guy told him. Now its blown up in his face so he now plays victim
I really wish Brennan would’ve went through with buying the bike. Especially the way they were treating them. That would’ve made me want to do it even more.
the problem though is that they pressured the dealership that sponsored him that they would loose their dealership. that's huge for a 17yr kid shoulders to know you caused a business to go under. Of course would be crazy lawsuits at that point due to millions at stake but that right there tells you that there was definitely something about that bike that was not legal to go to that extreme

Thing is he was perfectly fine with deegan finishing the weekend on it as long as everything stayed sealed and he got the bike the way it was when he claimed it not stripped and stock parts put back on
I believe the main point is being missed. It is a claiming race and it doesn’t even matter if a mechanic put him up to it or not. If it was a built bike, then tuff luck, Yamaha. If it wasn’t then no one would complain.
Their idea is a mechanic can reproduce the special racing parts and reproduce it on their own bikes But he made clear they wouldn't even break into the engine
@Dominic D'Angelo yeah, duh. That's the whole point of a claiming race. I don't blame Yamaha at all for their reaction. They did what they needed to do. But if they're smart they'll stop running trade secrets in amateur racing.
did you hear Any of the other manufacturers pitching a bitch, demanding answers... No... probably because They All put parts on their stock bikes to make them run better... not to mention there was No other parents demanding answers... No One other than the two kids wanting to make a RU-vid video... Brennan's Dad dropped the claim, and that in of itself should speak volumes... My guess is that since it's supposedly an unspoken rule the teams have been going all in on their parts for the top guys and this guy got them trippin tryin to buy the bike out of the blue😂
The hell with Yamaha, Matt Walker, and the Deegans… Pretty obvious they are cheating, and bullying. Both shouldn’t be tolerated. The sanctioning body needs to not be about the money of the big brands, and be about rules and what is right. They, basically, just allowed the bigger team to run over them and make them look pretty far from a legit playing field.
Brian didn't know the rule?! BS. I raced amateur my whole life and have known of the claim rule for 40 years. Many racing disciplines have similar versions in place. There not cheating per se... they just have the money to fine tune every piece of the bike... exotic materials... ect...with no expectation of someone buying it...

This situation is a mess but I can understand where all sides involved are coming from. This might sound like it’s coming from Left Field, as a longtime supporter of Brian Deegan & more recently his families Racing Careers both in Dirt Bikes & NASCAR, I can’t get behind them with this situation. I’m 41 years old now & what turned so many of us on to Deegan & the Metal Mulisha when I was still racing Motocross 20+ years ago was that they were Anti-Establishment & were standing against the Factory Teams & Corporate America for these exact reasons of special treatment, bullying the little guy, unfair advantages to the kid racing out of his 25 year old beat up truck, Etc. They paved a way for an entire generation of Freestyle Riders & deserve all the credit, success, & accolades that comes with it but he obviously forgot his roots & where he came from. Instead of this kids life getting destroyed due to the circumstances, Deegan could have intervened & completely changed the narrative/outcome for all those involved by using his knowledge, clout, connections, life experiences, Etc, & compromised so that the Deegan Camp/Schofield Camp could have a fair agreement, especially because the poor kid was following the rules, he’s only seventeen & has no idea how nasty, vindictive, & corrupt, the politics are. This kid has now been black balled, lost his sponsors, the people who support him are getting destroyed through the Internet/media, etc. And for what? Because he did what the rule books allow & because the Deegans or Star Racing didn’t agree with it so you go scorched earth on an Amateur Rider chasing his dream & who most likely idolized you & thats the whole reason he was willing to spend his life savings so he could have a Bike that the son of Brian Deegan raced on or maybe he genuinely believed Haiden was running a Factory Bike & had a unfair advantage which wouldn’t be a shocker especially given everyones actions once the claim was made, regardless the kid did absolutely nothing wrong but follow the rules & be politically naive. I’m not at all saying the Deegan Family was cheating & that they didn’t have genuine concerns for a multitude of reasons but again that’s not on a seventeen year old racer who did nothing wrong which brings me back to my disappointment in Brian Deegan. He does know all these things & regardless of this Bike Claim him & his family will move on having tremendous amounts of success & this won’t even be a blip on their radar but it’s life shattering for Schofield. The poor kid doesn’t deserve what he’s been put through & I really hope the Deegans realize this & use their Platform, Connections, & Influences, to right this injustice & help this kid get back what he deserves. Not only would it help Brennan Schofield & his family but it would be great PR for the Deegan Brand. I really hope someone in the Deegan Camp will advice them on something similar to what I’m saying. I also really hope the entire MX Community gets behind this kid so he doesn’t get buried by the Corporate Machine & just becomes another kids life ruined by the bureaucracy…
The Deegans are marketing all of their kids. It is all about the money. This should have been such a simple process. Give the officials the money and collect the bike. If you don't like the rules don't participate.
I remember watching Deegan ghost ride his bike over the finish at LA in 97 and thought he was so cool for it. That might have been the last cool thing he did.
well everyone tells the truth..except liars and people hiding the truth...there are versions...many see it differently or wrongly at times....it depends on each person to tell their side...who is right? well that depends on if you witnessed it too...sometimes no one tells it correctly...
It’s got nothing to do with Brian Deegan the only thing him and his son do or sign a contract and race those motorcycles they don’t bill them they don’t even know him don’t take it out on him! Hayden Deegan is a super talented motocross racer and he can wipe the dirt with any of those amateur riders any day of the week on any bike that you gave him and that’s plain and simple!
Dirt track has always had a claim rule and I’ve seen it done a lot. It works. If you don’t have a claim rule I think top 5 should have a complete tear down tech inspection after the race
I remember now back in 1979 Marty tripes lost his rc250 factory bike to an amateur named John Roeder , he gave the bike to Cycle magazine and they tore that bike apart and there wasn’t a stock part in or on that bike, if you could get the magazine it was August issue in 1979, I remember Honda was so scared to bring out there really trick bikes after that, it was easy to claim a bike back in the 70s but I know they changed the rules
Tyler, I have really enjoyed your most recent videos. You are very well spoken and seem to really be trying to balance the truth of this story. Interview the Yamaha shop please!!!
I have a great idea for a modification to the rule. When a bike is claimed, the owner has the choice of either giving up the bike OR paying the other party the claim amount. So, if I claim your bike for $20k you can either sell me the bike or you give ME $20k and I get to keep my original money. If you don't give me the bike, I'm going home with an extra $20k.
Tyler, you are Awesome! You could be a "interview guy" all day long if you chose to. Thanks for bringing some perspective to this situation. Thanks for taking the time to create and post these videos!
Get Brian Deegan on the show. I want to know why he thought it was a good idea to corner a minor child and intimidate him. Without his camera crew, that ALWAYS follows him, and without the child’s parents. You know damn well he wouldn’t have tolerated that being done to his kids. #Predator

Longtime Yamaha rider and fan. This situation reaks. The claiming rule seems to be there mainly for this situation. They shouldn't have 40k plus into an amateur bike and then someone like Brennan makes out. That's why they pushed back so hard, most of the stories had kinda cool heads during this but not respect for Matt walker. So that says a lot about his character and it's not good
Yeah man that’s bs rich kid privilege there I work my ass off to ride and I’m a adult but a kid worked like hell to claim a bike and Starr Yamaha threatens him his sponsor the whole nine I won’t buy a Yamaha again
This story gets better and better. I trust what you saying. Been following your channel for years. Back at the old ranch. That was sad for you. Find another place to ride. Can you please do a update on This? Like you happier now then the Ranch? Or better dirt?
They owe that kid a bike that's bs and he still lost his sponsors and his bike after dropping the claim. Smh I hope someone picks this kid up and he succeeds to the fullest
Derek has been around the block and built some badass engines for years. Deegan, Yamaha and Star should be thanking him for supporting the grass roots riders that buy their products and shitty sponsors energy drinks.
Exactly.. it’s sad to see Deegan go from the beginnings of the Metal Mulisha days to being Mr. Corporate America.. Travis Pastrana said it best when asking who’s the real sellout !!
In the pro ranks Mickey Boone who was a factory level rider, tried to claim Marty Smith's RC and I believe he also tried to claim Hannah's OW water pumper as well. All of the factories put in counter claims to stack the odds and Boone lost. The factories for the most part blackballed Mickey after this which is really sad. The John Roeder claimed Marty Tripes RC250 and won it. Roeder claimed Tripes bike because his was the only factory bike in Roeder's qualifier. There may be others later on but these are the ones from my pro days and I was only semi-fast so no pro hero here. These were from my era and I'm not familiar if any other factory bikes were claimed later on down the road.
I know from Bill West , Rick Burgett's factory Yamaha mechanic from 1978 's championship #1 that motor's are totally different than what we buy from the dealers stock.
Why do all the interviews focus on the kids intention or even gain potential fromDerek. The rules are rules in the AMA. There needs no explanation or I understand both views. Bottom line the bike was his.
I remember as a kid racing go carts there was a “claim” rule on engines in the kid classes. I told my dad we should run a bone stock engine, then swap with the winner. He said, “you can do that, but you don’t do that”.
He went to Tim Cotter ( the wrong person) Had he been swayed by someone who knew better (Derek Harris), he probably would have been sent to the right official and maybe got his bike
I wish the kid of gone through with it. I feel he was so bullied that he backed out. This is disgusting. I think you should have to run a stock motor in amateur national. You can change shocks carburetors sprockets anything else but the motor itself and transmission has to be stock
Not really Deegan call though. If people start doing it regularly it will get messy for the factories. Not because of cost but getting everything dialed and sentiment. Just a bad situation for everyone. The rule makes sense but is tough.
Yamaha could have had another bike for Haiden in a split second. The amount of resources they have have the amount of cash they have could have got Haiden another bike. Brennan said Haiden could ride the bike the next day even. End of story Yamaha messed up and Brennan should have the bike.
I’m just amazed at how well spoken this young man Brennan is. Brennan is brave for what he did. Obviously, unfortunately, this will stay with him as he progresses in Motocross. I held a pro license for 10 years (decent rider, nothing special) and I heard and saw the whispers in and around the pits. The “secret” meetings. It’s all who you know. Obviously, you need to be fast, and or show the potential to go fast, but it’s all a club, and guess what…you ain’t in it. It disgusted me how if you weren’t from So. Cal. then you weren’t apart of the “click.” I have tons of stories of things I heard and saw in the late 90’s and 2000’s that should have a lot of people in trouble.
That's how the world works. If you step on the toes of the big rollers they deal with you and black list you. I feel there is a lot of unsaid things that won't ever come out, but no one can say moto isn't all a big click. I see it where I'm at locally, you can't ride certain tracks, dealers will hide and hold bikes for certain people etc. To be honest I have slowly become sickened by the sport and the people in it. The more you get involved and pay attention to drama like this the more you realize how poisonous people are in this sport. I just free ride and ride private tracks and forget the rest now.
@@REKLUSE53 Exactly. I lived with a few top pros in 2000 in So. Cal. And the people I met (who are still involved in the sport) sicken me. I have seen and heard them say disgusting things about people and their families, and laugh behind their backs and use them. This sport is poisonous, and the stories these kids can tell who were factory riders who are now done with their careers can vouch that this sport ruined them. Not all, but most can say this. No one prepares you for life after motocross, the transition to real life. When I was winning, everyone loved me, but when I wasn’t, I couldn’t find a friend. What would I give to go back and know what I know now. I would own everyone’s bike haha.
@@thomasb1033 I can't speak for American Moto side, but in Canada the kids coming from pro are basically destroyed after their career, mentally. Not all but a lot of them, drugs, depression etc. As a rider you are technically property and used and abused for one thing. Sponsors and to perform, and tossed away if you fail. There have been riders here that are far better riders through technique and speed, but are told to NOT pass the popular riders, or be punished. Some retired pro riders here are so nasty and arrogant I can't even stand to be around them let alone support them. Its about money and popularity, especially social media and as George Carlin said, "it's all a big club and you and I aren't in it." I came back into Moto after 4 years and I almost wish I hadn't. Star is so stupid for doing this made Hayden look bad. Poor Brennan just had a great idea. I really hope this gives star and Brian a black eye the way it was handle was bull crap!
Yamaha with this of course Brain made some bad choices, but I understand why. This is a factory bike with Yamahas star racing pro engine mapping and custom parts. and if that gets out and sold to other manufacturers etc. Yamaha overall has leverage over the case already. I do agree it's unfortunate, but Brennan also shouldn't have said quote for quote, He wants to rip down the bike and look into it. that looks and sounds extremely sketchy as if he is trying to sell Factory pro mapping. I think Brennan should take the deal Yamaha gave him and leave it at that. I believe when all is said and done there will be things said about others that will be regretted. and yes, I believe both parties handled it poorly Brennan should not have said "He wants to rip down the bike and look into it." it looks bad and that the other people had choice words. I also believe Brennan should have bought another star Yamaha instead of the one that Deegan (Haiden) won his first championship on. Also, I think Tyler should interview the Deegan's and Yamahas positions on this. Also, I think Brennan was being extremely selfish by still wanting to take the bike after knowing that there was a 95% that there was a fully pro motor. in that bike if you don't understand why this would make him selfish than you don't understand that if Yamaha losses the upper hand, they lay off racers and employees and family's etc. if you don't understand what this means is its one kids 17 grand for 1 bike over hundreds of people and their salary which we don't want to go into detail to that. because that's a lot more money and a lot more problems which one kid would be causing know that it could cause that to happen. Still both sides are at fault Brennan being poor timing and unknowing knowledge and the other side for saying some choice things.
Please, the Deegans don't need anything. They are rich and have all the sponsors. They could have had a brand new bike within hours. They are rich and famous and got their way. It's bullshit.
Its just a bad deal all way around. the kid what the rules state. its there to keep this crap from happening. keep factory level bikes out of amature racing or you can lose the bike. The kid claiming the bike said he didn't know the rule either... which I find really hard to believe... especially when this motor guy tells the world that was his plan at the beginning of the week. whole lot of story stretching going on..
@@geoffhawk2332 on the interview Brennan said he read the rules and found it. (He never said he didn’t know it)Then saved up the money to do it and didn’t have enough at the first race(LL qualifier I think) but then saved up enough to claim it at LL’s. I don’t know what you’re talking about that he said he didn’t know the rule. He literally planned this for months and saved up the money himself at his job. He said that in the interview. Who cares anyways, the rules are the rules, they need to learn to read. Also, Brian Deegans claimed a bike when his kid was on 50’s. So he’s full of crap.
Should have just done/bought it anonymously. Rules probably don't allow that, either way rule is a rule there is also a car racing series where you can purchase another racers car for X amount. Rule is in place to keep the cost down and affordable to everyone.
Interesting to hear Derek’s side. Great interview. Some rules and procedures definitely need to change. Absolutely 0 respect for Matt Walker at this point. That’s for sure.
Speaking as a Canadian rider and one that has been involved some forms of local competition…. Sponsorship here is much less aggressive. I once attended a Canadian national enduro in which the USA sent group of guys to race and brought the works with them. The Canadian sponsored rider sponsored by the Canadian factory with the same brand name had a van and box trailer with Logo on it. He still won by the way!! I am siding for keeping amateur racing fair for anyone who wants to commit the time and energy to get what’s needed to race. I am a fan of the Deegans but money and business has to be kept at bay in all forms of amateur sports. I think the rule is a great one. Let the factory amateurs ride a affordable bike that a privateer like this kid and his family could also afford. Good riders will make it to the front anyway. Brian was once a privateer rider. Deep down he understands this . More recently a pro xc racer here road a bone stock demo bike ( like right out of demo ride tent) in a top ten shoot out race at an enduro. He still won and it made a statement. Sold a few bikes too!
Yep Brian is a big Trumper seen some stupid posts from his Instagram. I guess you believe in alternative facts nothing is your fault sounds pretty Trumpy
To even make a claim that the Deegans wouldnt have a bike for the next race is ridiculous. They got caught and used their clout to cover it up. Factory parts, end of story. Its unfortunate that racers and builders fear the factories even though they'll never get their help.
Harris ABSOLUTELY pushed for the kid to claim the bike. It may have been the kids idea or was mentioned by the kid jokingly & Harris went all in on it. That's why he was by his side the entire time. Harris WANTED to get inside that bike. It's 💯% his personality. I wouldn't doubt if he put the money up or at least SOME of it. He's denying this to save face & not get a stain on his business. He's all about the money & getting that bike would be something he would absolutely exploit to try & grow his business. With that said, the Deegan's & Yamaha shouldn't have done what they did. Shady of the Deegan's & shady intentions on Harris who pushed Brennan. Harris should do his own homework & not try & steal others work. He's snake like that & likes to pound his own chest off others tricks. He cost that kid his sponsorship.
Completely irrelevant why he claimed it. He had every right to. The whole reason why the rule is there is to keep factories from sending the super trick stuff, if they do that's their problem.
Thanks for allowing all sides to speak about the experience of all this. It's unfortunate that the privateers and amateurs have to deal with thing of this nature. The Deegans we're caught up in all this crap Yamaha did with that bike. It shows how the factory teams operate and it's need to win at all costs
If you get caught with a cheater bike, what should the penalty be. disqualification or bike confiscation, (theft)/redistribution? The cheater bike and the claiming rule are two totally different issues. They are being put together as one issue, in an effort to show people that stealing somebody else's property is moral if they have better stuff than you do. Do you think that is moral? if enough people do, (this comments section scares the heck out of me for our future), then they will get exactly what they deserve, and it will be up to their jealous and greedy neighbors. I don't want to live in that lawless society, but it looks to be your future. It is the difference between communism and private property rights, exaclty. Glad I am old, because these kids are agreeing with communism, and they will probably get it.
So Brennan pulled his claim because Yammaha blackmailed his sponsor and threatened to remove their franchise and his sponsor just ditches him? Brennan should have just taken the Star bike... Really feel for the kid. Hopefully another Manufacturer picks him up to give a middle finger to Yam.
the kid pulled a 16-24-14 to start with. that’s good, but it’s like straight up privateer on the nationals good, so I don’t understand why you say he is done. he can race canadian nationals perhaps. local races, maybe become start a school or something. clothing sponsors won’t dis him. I have no idea what type of sponsorship he had with his local shop, but it probably wasn’t much to begin with. he’s a typical guy trying to live the dream pretty much out of his pocket. I really wish he would have put his foot down and said NO I’m buying the bike, it’s the rules, I’m taking it home. Too much of a chance for a buy out too. That crossed my mind so I’m sure what happened…happened
@@rickanderson2971 from what they said it sounds like the dealership in Canada that sponsored him supplied his bikes and have taken them back. Pretty big deal for a kid to get his bikes that way! Unreal that Yamaha USA influenced a dealer in Canada.
I don't care what anybody says but if you know how Brian deegan is and how much time money sweat and tears he puts into everything for his children if you look at Brian's garage and see all of his championship dirt bikes those are his trophies to him they tell a story and it is a sentimental thing it's an achievement. And of course he's going to fight for his kid because we're not going to let some kid come up and try to take his bike while he's still racing he has nothing to hide. Brian does everything the correct way you could say whatever you want to say but they put in that seat time every single day that kid works out he goes out puts in that seat time focuses on bettering himself getting faster lap times. That's his bike that's his baby there is sentimental value and it is an achievement to him that he wants to see and keep forever because that is his first 250 that will be his champion bike that he will keep forever and for some kid to come up and try to take that from them of course there will be some problems Brian isn't what people think he is yes he is metal mulisha and I support everything that that family does because they don't cut corners they work for what they got and they deserve everything that they have coming for them in a good way because they put in that work they put in that seat time and the results speaks for itself you could say whatever you want that they're cheating or whatever what are you guys got to say once they change the motor and he still smoked them? You guys are clowns and don't understand and you probably will never understand
I agree, theres a reason a bike claim rarely happens because most people understand the storm that is gonna be thrust upon them. Kid did not think this through and didnt think about how all his sponsors would handle it. He brought all this upon himself and I dont feel sorry for him one bit!
There is a clip on one of the old mx videos in the early 2000s where Brian was bragging about running a cheater bike back in the day. Just saying he may work hard but he isn't above doing some shady shit.
First off, I don't think star did anything wrong per se in bringing an incredible bike to loretta's - there's nothing in the rulebook that they broke. Where they went wrong is bringing something that they clearly could not afford to lose and then everything that happened after the claim.
I agree 100 percent, they should have definitely warned him on how that would be perceived. Seems like his engine guy instigated it and wanted to see the fireworks. d bag move.
@@rainman2988 I didn't say it was a bad rule, I said it was a bad career move with how it was handled. The close minded Deegan or Star haters like you are exactly the reason Brennan will end up in racing oblivion. A couple weeks of RU-vid clicks isn't worth pissing off and screwing with a major Team. There are only a few Factories out there and none of them want to take on kids that are deemed problems fair or not. Top Guys (RC, Cinc, etc) have dealt with the claiming rule before.... Can you name the claimers?
@@joerose8702 "Brennan will end up in racing oblivion". How do you know? Who are you to call someone who disagrees with the Deegan's or star Yamaha's "haters"? You don't see dirty in this? Some of us don't kiss the rears of those that have powers over us just because they have connections and money.
Why did no-one not bring out their cameras, I don't understand!! Today that is what your PHONE is for?? , I see people every day with their phones out for the dumbest reasons! How did this happen and no-one had their PHONES out?!?!?!, I'm still PUZZLED!!
I work in a small prototype shop for ibm / aero space and defense doing all welding, machining, laser cut sheet metal, designing… Ive alway wanted to get into auto or dirtbike development of parts. I port my own car heads and build my hole engine, turbo kits, everything on my cars.
If that was a Degan build bike , I would agree .but star Yamaha probably has a dozen motors for him . Four at the track five or six at the shop. I understand the motor guy saying it takes months for rod or piston, but star yamaha by the end of day or week
Out of all the comments this makes the most since. When this guy said that he never heard of the rule used, maybe once someone got their bike claimed. It's a rule that made a bad situation for all involved, might need to change rule or get rid of the rule all together.
@@JaredUnashamed I think a protest rule would be good. Another rider puts up the money for the engine to be torn down (after the races). If the part or motor work is not available to the public, the engine is declared illegal and the rider is DQed. The protesting rider gets his money back. Takings possession of someone else’s bike is the tension escalates
The claim rule is meant for RACERS to be able to feel like they can level the playing field if someone wants to bring a high tech bike. Not some engine builder to ride the coattails of someone else’s testing and engineering.
Derek…”having the kids back” from a partner/mentor approach should have translated into explaining and helping him to understand the potential ramifications from the Claim…it appears as if NO ONE did this…everyone just said…it is a rule and he has the “right”…we all know in life that just because it is legal doesn’t mean that it is “right”…this is a perfect example of finding a loophole for personal gain…The rule was the biggest problem and no one explaining the potential fallout to this poor kid was the second problem…I don’t like how Yamaha handled it and I hate that he lost his bikes but that is my point… he had the bikes that obviously weren’t his since they were taken away because of the business side of the sport… he didn’t care or realize the true reason or purpose behind his sponsor supporting him… at that age. It is all just about money and opportunity from his perspective, but from the business side of it specifically Yamaha‘s perspective, it is about marketing, engineering, and profits.
So Star can’t use factory parts on amateur bikes but Derek can use custom titanium con rods in his Loretta’s bikes? Got it I totally understand LL bike claim rules btw
No one said star can't use them, we're just saying if you do use them you can't bitch and complain when someone claims it. Did you pay attention to the beginning of THIS VIDEO where homie says you can run WHATEVER you want but you have to be prepared for someone to buy it at a certain price.
@@jordanemede I’m being sarcastic with my comment and understand the rules of bike claims completely. Didn’t he say tho that like the team green “off the shelves” bikes they should keep amateur bikes from having factory parts? I know that’s not the case and I’m sure factory am bikes do have factory parts.
There's nothing against them using a full factory bike in amateur racing the point is that there's no reason to in case somebody claims it why would you want somebody to claim a $40,000 dirt bike for 18 Grand they just didn't want to lose a $40,000 bike but yeah you can run whenever you want factory bike or whatever it's just stupid to do so in case of the claim rule
@@calvincanha LOL my bad I understand the comment now. I thought you didn't know that they could use the factory bike. I was also confused about the rule till I looked into the thing. I love watching racing I can't believe I got sucked into this drama lol. my bad have a blessed day my friend
