0:00 Introduction: The missing information about dementia
2:05 What is Lupron?
3:52 Progesterone and brain health
5:30 Suppressing luteinizing hormone as a remedy for dementia
7:37 How to stimulate melatonin
In this video, I'm going to share an incredible potential natural alternative to help slow the signs of dementia.
The drug Lupron works to suppress certain cancers because it suppresses certain sex hormones. New research has also shown that Lupron can decrease dementia symptoms. Lupron is a potent suppressor of luteinizing hormone.
Luteinizing hormone is made by the pituitary gland and signals the body to produce hormones like progesterone and testosterone. As we age, luteinizing hormone increases significantly. Patients with Alzheimer's have higher amounts of luteinizing hormone than people with normal cognitive function.
High levels of luteinizing hormone significantly decrease progesterone. Progesterone is a very powerful neurosteroid, so it supports the development of neurons.
Women have more progesterone, so they often have fewer adverse effects if they experience a traumatic brain injury. Progesterone minimizes inflammation in the brain cells, enhances serotonin, prevents apoptosis, and decreases blood-brain barrier leakage.
After menopause, progesterone significantly decreases in women. For men, this decline can happen around 70 years of age.
Melatonin can suppress luteinizing hormone, which indirectly increases progesterone. Research on mice has shown that melatonin and exercise may help halt dementia symptoms.
DHEA and pregnenolone also work to suppress luteinizing hormone and increase progesterone. DHEA also suppresses cortisol.
To decrease luteinizing hormone with melatonin, you'll need a much larger than average dose. You can also stimulate melatonin by going to bed with the lights turned down, increasing sun exposure, or sitting by a campfire. Around 95% of melatonin can be obtained from the sun's infrared rays.

They always want to know what’s on the other side of the fence too- LOL! Look at moroccan tree climbing goats. All goats like to climb ie mountains. Want to give Bennett a playground in his paddock? Put pedestals or large rocks in it. He will LOVE them! Have fun with BENNETT. Excellent intro to a very important subject. Thank you again.🙏🏻

As a physician with 50 years experience, I advise patients to take high dose melatonin at 8 AM. If high dose melatonin is taken at night the person will have no energy the next day. The fatigue can be debilitating but if it is taken at 8 AM there is no decrease in energy. High dose melatonin is not given for sleep but it does ultimately help with very deep sleep. I still recommend they take the low-dose melatonin at bedtime. Everything will improve!

You can’t just stop statins. It can cause strikes and heart attacks so it’s a problem. Not sure how to “wean off” statins, safely. And doctors won’t help or explain. Sometimes the reason people are on statins is vested they’ve tried natural ways and it hasn’t worked and then they’re forced to go on staying when the numbers get too high and dangerous. So these things aren’t simple.

I think I'll just take a nice long walk at dawn and dusk (weather permitting). I'll wait until I'm in my 70s or signs of dimentia are obvious b4 taking this many pills! But you still rock, Doc!

I can vouch for this. Over the six years that my sleep was really bad, I noticed a sharp decline in my memory and cognitive function. Whole chunks of my life disappeared as though down a sink hole. I suddenly struggled to remember things I'd always remembered: numbers, past addresses, names, ect. I kept losing things. That was the point I realised how vital sleep is and spurred me to do something about it. Since seeking out your channel, my sleep has largely improved, although my memory is taking longer to recover.

I own a home for elderly folks majority has dementia and not able to care for themselves. Namenda is same as memantine. I don’t think it works on folks with mid to advanced staged dementia. And in fact, I noticed it causes depression. Only one doctor-amongst the many-after prescribing it actually asked me to report any change in personality and so I did. She discontinued it immediately.

From what you have here, it seems that a Seasonal Affective Disorder lamp might be useful for dementia patients, if it used something like a quartz-halogen lamp, that would produce large amounts of Near Infrared radiation, as opposed to a "white" LED source which produces relatively little. Old people will never get enough sun year-round, and probably not even in the summer. One point that might be further developed re senility is "intracellular vs circulating" melatonin: Exposure to near infrared increases intracelluar melatonin, which will always be better, at least as far as sleep is concerned, than any supplement, which can only increase circulating melatonin. It seems at least possible that advising senility patients to get a S.A.D. lamp could potentilly be even more beneficial than supplementation, if intracellular melatonin is what is really needed.
