Thank you for this! I just purchased these and so far so good ( only 3 rounds in) but so far the tape is holding up along with the grips. Since GA is so hot and humid I have to change my grips twice a year after all the wear and tear from rubbing them down with a towel. These are 1/4 the price of normal grips, such a good deal. Thanks Matt!

Ideal if you like to tinker with shafts and stuff, and they look pretty good, at the price point you would not worry about changing them 3 times a season.

I bought the Champkey corded grips with tape and solvent. No issues putting them on and no issue with color bleeding. Excellent so far. Have no idea how long they will last but if it’s three years I am impressed. I do admit Lambkin Crossline is mu favorite but these do just as good at one third the price doing it myself.

I'm using the Champkeys, too. They are fine. I find that they are slightly thicker (and 1/4 inch shorter) than the Golf Pride equivalents. So you don't have to go mid-size if you are used to Golf Pride's standard grips.

I put these exact grips on my sons' clubs and he loves them. Held up great all year (Iowa) and I don't need to replace them for next season. As far as the multi-compound, I use the Calong brand from Amazon that is multi-compound and I can't feel the difference...other than I feel the Calong grips are little more rough on the top part, which I prefer for a better grip. I only went to these because of the lack of access to the name brands earlier this year and now I wouldn't think of paying their prices for a product I change out every few years. Great video as always MSG!!!!

I just installed these on my 1990s cheapy clubs to get back into the game of golf before I spend money on a new set of clubs. Definitely will get the job done, but can't comment on durability yet since the weather hasn't been very cooperative for me to hit the range or the course. Be nice to get out there and get started on hitting some balls and working on improving my game after 15 years of not playing. Hope to get back to being a mid-teen handicap by mid summer or sooner.

Hijacking near-top comment to say that people, you don't need to use sticky tape and solvent. You can fit grips SO much more easily with ***masking tape and a foot pump***. I just did it and the benefit is that it's easy to adjust if they're not straight. Couldn't see anyone else here mentioning this route so thought I would chime in.

I have these exact grips in blue. I've played around 15 rounds at about 50-55 strokes a round (don't have one on my putter) and they have virtually no wear. Been using them ever since they came out on Amazon and rate them just below the Golf Pride R&Blk standard grips I use. To be honest both can crack occasionally/lose their cord and lose their stickiness but that does take time. Did notice that latest batch was somewhat a tighter fit on my taylormade irons but got them on with tiny hand mess and they out-gas quite a bit more. But as u say they are about 1/3 the cost esp for DIYers. Hope this helps for folks making a decision.

I've tested a lot of the "bootleg" amazon grips since getting a simulator and hitting balls all winter and needing to regrip way more than I used to, and with a side by side champkey and golfpride standard, the rubber is stiffer on champkey but there's not a ton of difference otherwise, just a little stiffer rubber. But they have a few different styles that compare to mainstream. I'm currently using the fake Winn Drytaks and have loved them this summer.

LOL, I'm cheap so I buy "tennis" handle wraps... cost me $20 for a dozen. They are excellent for their wear characteristics, and I really get great grip as they are meant for "sweaty hands", so in any weather they work great. Takes me about five minutes to wrap a club handle...I put the wraps on over the original grips so they are marginally larger, which I like as I've got long fingers. Never failed to get a season out of the wrap.

I just ordered the midsize and tried it on an extra club for testing. Just for info, these grips seem to have less taper than say the Golf Pride Tour Velvet. Clubmakers sometimes measure the diameter 2" and 5" from the butt end. The 2" measurement was about 0.960" for both, but the 5" measurement was 0.865" for the Champkey and 0.850" for the Golf Pride. For me, that is fine as I used to wrap extra tape about 4" down the shaft anyway to build up the grip under the trail hand. Also, if you have a compressor or tire inflator, you may want to consider blowing on your grips (no tape or solvent). Check RU-vid for instructions.
