This is a great list. I feel it’s accurate. I would add that they also take care of themselves to the best of their ability. They believe outside of themselves. Because otherwise they are focused on situations and circumstances? They are positive and believe things will turn around.

I had most of the qualities you mentioned. I just graduated from college with a Bachelors of Art at age 70. Not bragging, but many people seem impressed that I could do it. I had breaks from school for a heart attack and two hip replacements, but finished during the pandemic. Something difficult like this, one just has to stay focused and determined that you can do it!! I wasn't the smartest in my classes, but probably one of the most determined. I had a lot of math classes and was always in math tutoring if I wasn't in class! I also put my social life pretty much on hold, but now have met a great man who admires my determination! With the right attitude I believe people really can make their dreams come true!! I agree with that treat as you are treated motto. Also, I actually believe that mentally strong people do not have to be either fierce or smart looking. Therefore, those who are not nice when they have the choice to be so are not mentally strong at all.
I agree with this. When bad thoughts come up I push them away, I turn my head around. It's good sometimes to put some blinders on not to get drawn into the noise in life.

Mentally strong person is someone who despite having severe suicidal feelings and PTSD for 8 years don't give in to killing themselves. They fight it and believe they have more things to do in life before they die. Forced to behave like an adult and take care of my older sister and childhood physical and emotional abuse made me a stronger person I am today through learning about life on my own n making mistakes in early adulthood. I've been raped, had cancer, severe PTSD through childhood abuse, long term unemployment and workplace bullying, long term friends abandoning me and being a carer for both of my elderly parents. (I won the case no lawyers involved, stood up to HR n Seniir Management winning £15000). You have to earn to be mentally strong.

No that is not mentally strong. That is the opposite. If you really want to know in your situation what makes it mentally strong, just say, "Tell me" then I will tell you. Otherwise, I see that "YOU SEE YOURSELF AS A VICTIM BUT Disguise AS MENTALLY STRONG".
They also are open to different perspectives, views & opinions and often try to understand someone and their situation before passing judgment on them.
I'm a capricorn myself and im very strong willed and will only do what i want to do i don't follow the crowd and im won't be made a fool either by anyone because god help them if they try im strong and independent and won't take any crap either from anyone who is trying to pull the wool over my eyes
Basically, I need help on these: 1. I know when someone is trying to use me but I turn a blind on it even if I ended up hurting. 2. I don't know how to say no!!!! I get uneasy whenever I see the reaction of the person asking me when I turn them down so I just can't, I really find it hard to say no, this is something I want to learn and to change about myself. 3. Rather than giving constructive criticism, I always choose to say something that won't offend anybody. Even if it's something constructive yet offensive, I just shut my mouth and not say anything.
Such people have strong principles which they believe in, and always stand by them. Self-respect matters to them as much as their genuine respect for others.

Another trait would be, even when things really don't go your way whether financial or health wise, you don't get wrapped up feeling sorry for yourself. You move on and keep trying to be the best you can be.

As a former business owner, now retired. Mental strength was a necessity in my line of business. Making calm cool rational choices to problems will always occur and how we handle those tough choices sets the precedence, whether a business fails or succeeds.
I learned over the years that today I am here in this day and I do matter. Those who have done wrong to me in the past dont matter and I wont and cant dwell on the past cause Im here now and whatever was then isnt now and today I will be happy and live my moment because I made it through to today so I have a victory.
Almost all of them exist in my case,but the one trait which always made me think i am not so normal is that i love alone times,i can't fit into cliche groups.i was so worried about my poor social interaction skills but now i have a good feeling about it,i am very selective in social interactions it has benefits 😊
That's why you are mentally strong. That is a big part of it. Figuring out that you are fine just the way you are; without disrespecting anyone, being rude, being mean and without any guile in your heart toward anyone. Being true to you.
Especially nowadays be very careful in choosing friends, news and books to read.where everything is fake and all lies. Only you alone, are true to yourself. And TRUST is so hard to give. Being Alone is better than being with fake people.
I’m super mentally strong. Not only I fit into all these categories, but I am also strong enough to stay away from negative and toxic people. Be strong enough to be surrounded by who you truly like rather than being stuck and fixated on unhealthy friendships and relationships.
Studying health behavior, psychology and neuroscience has helped me learn so much about myself. And overtime I have improved. It takes work. As a cognitive neuroscientist, these signs are right on the spot. During college, I had less of these, but after graduate school and my doctorate, I can say, now I feel confident to say that I am similar to all of these. Overall saying "no" was most difficult, but soon I realized how much stronger and happier I was, while approaching it perfectly, others wee more integrity in you. Thank you for posting this.
In a manipulated world, holding your own and taking responsibility for yourself seems to be a rare breed, strong people in my mind need to be there for there loved ones, be a rock and to be a great role model for their children, strong people are generally in control but still have moments of weakness which is ok and we know it😉
The one about controlling about your emotions hit me the most. When even I go through something, I allow my emotions to get the best of me. And the people pleasers one. Honestly, It is just a wasting time to think more about problems rather than thinking out the solutions while keeping your faith and spirit high despite of the trouble we were facing... Mentally strong people are not afraid to speak truth. They also do take decision to change themselves and are not very much afraid , when they change a career . While all others say that you are a hopeless fellow and can not achieve a thing which you have started , and still you continue only because you believe in yourself , shows that you are mentally strong. And you finally achieve it after so many failures also shows you are mentally strong.

I've been on my own since I was 14 and I learned to be responsible, respectful, to keep my word, follow through no matter how long it takes and how to hold myself accountable. I luvvvv being alone...calm, peaceful, freedom and more. Being around a crowd of ppl isn't my cup of tea. If it's a (concert, special occasion or graduation ceremony)then I'm fine. If a person invades my space, I get soooo furious !! But I have no tolerance for ppl who are gonna waste my time at all.

I match up as mentally strong but have been challenged this past few years by a 2 Antisocial personality disorder , a narcissist or sociopath who seek to controle. At first while I didnt comprehend what I was dealing with , I took quite a stumble. Now I can see the end of my involvement with these people and have survived this attack making me ever stronger

I haven't watched the video yet but I'll go ahead and say this. Mentally strong people are not necessarily strong willed or intelligent, but rather wise and understanding. Those who are mentally strong are often optimistic, turning their life experience into whatever knowledge they can, from my experience. Often they are able to realize life isn't going to be perfect or easy. That is what makes you mentally strong
I need to work on learning to say no because I love to help others but sometimes I get burned out from doing too much although I enjoy multi tasking. The other one I am weak on is saying what I mean. What i say isn't always how i feel but I like to think I'm as honest as I can be. I relate to all the other ones.
I think the more hurt and toxic relationships we indure the stronger I become. As I get older I get to learn who I want to have in my life. I love solitude and I won't put up with any crap anymore. Yes I believe I am mentally strong but experience has made me that way.....

I enjoyed reading the comments. I am all of those in the video and more. My sibling thinks she's the stronger, tougher of the two. Physically, yes! I am stronger and tougher where it counts the most. Upstairs in the Cranium! Lol.. I always have been. Something to add about saying, "No." Saying, "No," isn't quite as easy as it sounds. When you say, No, are you able to do this? . .. "Say, No, without feeling quilty for doing so!" If so, congrats. Remember: " You are Not Responsible for Anyone's Feelings but Your Own!" Here's one of my mottos to make you laugh through the day. "It's way better to go through life, laughing your ass off, than it is to go through life, crying your ass off! " I should know. Been at both ends of the spectrum. Learning how to say no is a very big challenge for me since I don't like disappointing people, Even when it's people I don't like at all. But now I am over coming that little by little I say no more than I say yes now lol there is always a solution, Although I do get called mean now but hey i'd rather be called mean any day if it means staying true to myself.
